WANTED: an underrated drama

ok im seriously going crazy here...i know that this site is ruled by fan-girls and fan-boys, and i am a fangirl myself, but right now i need some1 normal...is there such a person here? i cant take it anymore...all those overrated, hyped-up dramas...ive been dissapointed way too many times...pls recommend me sth amazing, but b4 u do that, turn off ur inner-fan completely...im not trusting the scores on those super popular dramas anymore...give me sth underrated, sth that u would put in ur faves, but not because the actors r too hot, or the story is too cute...dont give me idol dramas, too much over-the-top dramas, teenage-girls-go-crazy-over-me dramas...nor those dramas that end up on 'hub' lists (whatever that word means)... so, if ur inner-fan is completely off, and u know any dramas/movies that r underrated, but absolutely worth watching, pls let me know...great acting is a must...also if its sth every1s heard of and has watched it, i dont want it...chances r its overrated...

This is a good thread. I'm also looking for those drama! Drama: Buzzer beat Movies: Chilling romance and Bokura ga ita If I read trough my dramalist these are the ones which are just great and I loved watching them ( not because the guys were hot or the story was cute). Although I think they are not underrated here, I can recommend you these :).

I totally get what you mean. I don't trust the ratings anymore.
I've seen many kind of dramas and I'd say that the drama you need right now is a real life drama and not just light rom-com.

I can suggest an under rated Jdrama I've seen recently: Mother It's one of the most amazing, meaningful, touching series I've seen. It's not at all glamorous. It's serious and mature. It's theme touches on sensitive subjects which probably puts off over 50% of the 'younger' viewers on here. The acting, the story and it's realism is exceptional and it brings back strong values to us. This short series has won awards and it deserves all the praise it gets. This is a type of series anyone can relate to in some way or another. However it's theme may not be suitable for the majority but the series is under rated. I hate being a 'fangirl' myself and I have also been 'sucked' into dramas with particular actors because I hold a deep attraction to them but I'm not going to stress over it. If there is amazing drama with great stories and it helps me pass an enjoyable evening then I'm happy to watch them with hotties or no hotties :) Lol...does that make me a normal person on here?

Try White Christmas, it's a psychologial Thriller and it has a pretty unique storyline ^^ (I seriously don't know why not a lot of people know about this drama, it's amazing, one of the best I've ever seen <3) or Time Between Dog and Wolf (and underrated action/romance/suspense drama, I guess it's in the shadows of City Hunter and Iris T_T, although the plot is different and Time Between Dog and Wolf came waaay before those two others, it came out in 2007...) It's amazing btw, my favorite drama of all time ^^.
