Contemporary CH | TW | HK Dramas PTW

I am using the top space here to say the truth. China makes excellent contemporary dramas (1950s-2010s included). Not just period dramas, their contemporary dramas are great too. Watchers just need to head to douban and consider the dramas that are rated highly there.

My Contemporary Chinese, Taiwanese & Hong Kongese dramas PTW List. This list would include all sorts of contemporary Chinese dramas. It will also contain dramas set in 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s & 1990s. Basically everything post Minguo period goes here. Dramas that have a mix of contemporary and period theme will be included only if most of the story takes place in the contemporary setting. 

This list doesn't follow order of ranking. However, dramas are arranged according to my preferred themes. Realistic grounded dramas come first, then slice of life dramas, then female centric. At the very last comes idol dramas (rom-com idol dramas with cliche plots or the ones featuring romantic dynamics that I am least interested in to be exact).

Douban rating will be mentioned (in progress). I consider dramas with 6.5 and above douban ratings as well rated, but a few below 6.5 dramas turn out to be surprisingly good too, so if I like the premise, I add them too.
