Pretty sure this is my first K-Drama about cults. Just in the first episode they've set up this New Sky religion very well. The way they appear so polite and subtly get under your skin/do favors without calling them favors to make you feel like you owe them.

It's not breaking the mold by any means (it's a typical Thai school romance), but it's colorful and youthful. And the side couple is giving immediate mutual crushing and shyness and I am SO here for it!

The action is pretty good. The fencing? Even better. I was also quite impressed with how they made Khanin's life feel . . . Real, to put it plainly. I was so sure they'd barely establish his past before rushing him to Emmaly and presenting him as an heir. But, no, they built him up as a cocky but passionate fencer with a fun-loving social circle and a somewhat strict but loving father he cares for deeply and longs to impress.

And because they took their time, his multiple breakdowns over his world being turned upside down felt even more impactful. Begging his dad to just let him live as his son . . . Hit.

I feared there would be this veil of awkwardness hanging over The Ex-Morning. I mean, Singto and Krist haven't worked together in years.

But, no, it really felt as easy as sliding into a trusted, comfy pair of shoes. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about! They click as much as they did before. And the strong nostalgia this first episode gave? Priceless!

Not to mention, I loved how comfortable yet tense scenes were with these lovers reuniting. There's clear animosity, but within that deep regret and so much care.

Also, Phi is such an entertaining hot-head, so easily provoked as well as cooled down by Tawan. Love that!

There isn't just budget and star power behind this project. How to describe it? You can feel the story being woven as you're watching it. Everything feels intentional. If I had to compare it to another drama . . . Think of My Stand-In but make it cinematic!

And I loved how you could immediately feel the switch-up from Armin being himself vs stepping into a role. He becomes that person.

My excitement was not in vain! I'm looking forward to the next episode!

Side Note: ML was really giving Gatsby in the beginning.
