Pretty sure this is my first K-Drama about cults. Just in the first episode they've set up this New Sky religion very well. The way they appear so polite and subtly get under your skin/do favors without calling them favors to make you feel like you owe them.

I thought they did well in portraying dealing with grief, with Wan having little time to process while having to work and handle the paperwork/financials after her father passed. It's almost a blessing and a curse not to be able to stop and sit with your emotions. Because that's when the loss really sets in.

They set up Wan and Maewnam's budding "rivalry" well, too. Before that reveal happens, though, it seems we'll be treated to some lovely mutual crushing

I already feel the chemistry between them, which is great because their relationship is progressing rapidly! Like, much faster than I expected. Lol.

It's kind of giving Kimi ni wa Todokanai, with one of the friends having intense feelings for so long and finally not being able to hold it all back one day and pouring it all out.

Even though it is rather rushed here, I don't find myself mad about it.

These actresses once again prove they have amazing chemistry together! The battling of competitiveness and desire is just fire!

I find it interesting how their attitude toward wealth and status seemed to have shifted from when they were in school. Ai cared more about image and effort, while May reached for what was accessible and standard. Now, Ai takes advantage where she can and pushes limits, while May is a somewhat shy but very studious newcomer working to break in.

The dynamic between Dr. Thap and In is SO fun! It's sarcastic, grumpy black cat meets other gloomy, grumpy black cat.

And they both care about each other, even though they don't "want" to care.

The set-up was good, and I liked the little "twist/reveal" we got at the end about their first meeting. It made aspects of their behavior make more sense, too.

I wanted more time with them together, though! But, of course, it makes sense for a first episode (especially with this plot) that they have to spend a good chunk of the runtime from the get-go building up the side characters and upcoming conflicts.

Oh! It is CREEPY!

These "strangers" remind me a bit of the weeping angels from Doctor Who, where the key is to not acknowledge them. Except here, if you look at them, you must pretend to see nothing. But with the weeping angels, once you do, you can't look away.

Prince is outrageous and iconic, and her entire vibe is giving "I love myself" meets criminal offensive side-eye!

The stakes are high with political conspiracies and murder attempts, yet it also feels like a low-stakes (in comparison), dramatic soap opera due to our lead boldly strutting into confrontations as well as stumbling her way into the arms of handsome man after handsome man.

All in all, I am strapped in on this rollercoaster for the next episode!

Loved the Breakfast at Tiffany's reference at the beginning. The intimate atmosphere it created was beautiful, and it served as a great introduction for the FL.

I'm not getting an immediate spark between them right away, but there's plenty of time.
