Thai Dramas I have watched

I was so excited for this series only to be left extremely disappointed. Not only was the entire plot convoluted and messy but it wasn’t conveyed in a way that made any sense. From start to finish I was confused and unsure of what exactly was going on. The characters never got good development, most of them not getting backstories. When someone died I could tell I was supposed to feel sad but I didn’t because their relationships weren’t established. (Spoilers) Pao and Jean were supposed to basically be brothers but the only thing that established their bond was a clip of a iphone wallpaper. Other than that it seemed like Jean didn’t really care about him. Speaking of Pao, his character was handled poorly, he was mentally ill but of course the cliche route is to make him go crazy. Then he dies in such a cruel way not even getting a chance, like yes he was doing crazy shit but wtf. They could’ve done something way different with him but instead it’s just another poor representation of mental health. There were so many characters and only like three of them got backstories, we barely got to see anyone interact outside of the apocalypse. Half of the time I didn’t know if characters were friends because they barely spoke. It was so annoying to watch because I felt no emotional connection to the characters. And the ending, genuinely what was going on, Mook injects Nonn and then cries like girl you did that. Then what though, like did it work or did they kill (is he dead) him for nothing?? We didn’t get to see anything they just said “1 month later” like what!?! We’re the zombies still partially human? Can they be cured? What is that thing on their necks? Maybe they wrote this with a second season in mind but I think that’s poor writing. Our questions should be answered. Genuinely so disappointed in this series it really wasn’t good and I don’t think it deserves a sequel unless they get a new writing team.

This was funny and goofy overall but it had its emotional moments and was a good take on the found family trope. I loved the dynamic and relationships between all the characters. I also loved the supernatural aspect. It was a little cringey at times but I think that’s part of the gmmtv comedy charm. I did think the villains in the story were overdramatic and the story tried to redeem them but there was no redeeming actions that evil. I will say the force book episode it a 10/10 in my book it was done so well. I loved the effects in this and the set design and colors were really good. The costuming for Home was interesting…his outfits were so outlandish I could immediately tell when they reused them. I loved the sibling bond and then how they all became a family. I felt horrible for Home and was curious to what happened to his parents, along with Peach and Pangs parents. Also the balcony ghost? There were definitely a couple plot holes and questions unanswered but I don’t mind too much. I liked that Home was kind of complex in that he actually did something bad but learned from it and was forgiven. The acting was great and the chemistry between TayNew was insane, this was a bromance but they had me thinking it was a BL at some points. Like Home and Peach are definitely in love and you cannot convince me otherwise. Their relationship was inherently romantic I fear. Anyways this was really fun to watch and I enjoyed it.

This was so good, like insanely good. Perhaps one of the best series GMMTV has made. From acting, to chemistry, to characters, to plot it was all amazing. I loved the dynamic between Shin and Saint it was perfect. The acting was seriously so good on everyone’s part. As someone who watched School 2013 I liked how they adapted it, it was true to the most important parts but also took some liberties and made nice changes. The Korean series focused a lot on the teacher so I like how the Thai adaption changed that and focused more on the students. Though they could’ve done even less of the teacher I got bored during her scenes. I also like how Ken got a happy ending and the students became friends, maybe it’s a bit unrealistic but I appreciated it. Ken deserved to be happy. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Shin playing soccer again, I kind of thought the whole point was because of leg he could never play again but whatever. I also wish they made it gay. Clearly their relationship had romantic undertones they didn’t try to hide that at all. The Korean series is queer coded as it was 2013 in Korea there was no way they could’ve gotten away with them being explicitly gay. However, GMMTV is a Thai company known for queer series (several actors of those series were ben in this) who made this in 2024. The only reason they may not have been able to make this gay is perhaps the writers/owners of the og School 2013 said no. If that’s the case I accept the bromance, if not, this was low key queerbaiting. Despite that, I really loved this series it had great character development and was so different than what GMMTV regularly does. They didn’t turn it into a comedy and unlike every other relationship it was actually a slow burn. Amazing series, they should’ve kissed though LMAO
