Bls I have watched

Quality isn’t amazing and it is undeniably cringey but I still love it lots and it is one of the firsts in terms of thai bls and has done a lot of great things 

After rewatching this and the remake I can confidently say that i’m not sure which one is truly better. The og obviously has its charm and i’m sure it was good at the time. However the quality and acting are just not good. Also season two was unnecessarily long  I got so bored. I will say that Per Win is significantly better in this, the nuance and the abuse storyline were lost in the remake. While this show holds a special place in my heart it’s definitely not the best thing i’ve watched

This is THE KBL of all time. It’s (in a way) the one that really kicked off the creation of the best ones. It’s so simple but it’s so fun and interesting. Like the game designer plot line with the enemies to lovers is so good. I love how jaeyoung starts off as trying to be everything that sangwoo hates but he soon realizes he wants to be liked by him instead. Then sangwoo realizing he cannot function without jaeyoung. ITS SO GOOD. Their dynamic is my fave, sangwoo is so robotic and jaeyoung is insane it’s amazing. The chemistry is so good genuinely amazing. I NEED to see them together again. The design in this show is so good too, there’s so much in the art from the graphic design, to set dec, to props, to wardrobe it’s all so crucial and detailed. I really love this drama and think it’s such an underrated one. SEASON TWO WHEN???

This might be my favorite KBL ever. It’s just so pure and wholeheartedly knows its story. Despite being short its pacing was perfect and it did everything it wanted to do. Each emotion each story beat was hit perfectly. The acting was amazing and their chemistry is truly out of this world. The little details and things they’d do for eachother were adorable. Their dynamic is addicting and I really loved how they progressed. It also looked absolutely stunning the angles and lighting were amazing. I can’t say anything bad about this it’s just really good.

Everyone says this season two was unnecessary but I think it was the most beautiful and prefect thing i’ve ever watched. This season dug so much deeper into the characters and their relationship and showed how strong their bond is. Both of them have severe traumas and they were able to address and grow from them. Jiwoo obviously did something wrong but he was hurt and confused. He was suffering so much but once he saw Seojun again all the love came back. Seojunwas suffering too but he loved Jiwoo so much he was willing to push through it. They clearly needed eachother they just had to sort through some things. This season brought to life so many aspects of their characters and told such an emotional story of love. I loved seeing them unable to move on from eachother and I loved seeing how pure Seojun was. I genuinely love this series and I think it takes To My Star to a whole other level. The acting is amazing the cinematography is amazing the chemistry is phenomenal and the angst is so so so good. This will always take the top spot as my favorite KBL and KDrama.

This series means the world to me. Honestly I think it’s part of what inspired me to want to go into film. Seeing film students portrayed in a simple queer series is really amazing. The cinematography in this is so amazing, the colors and the angles all feel carefully crafted. This was clearly made with a lot of love. Each character has so much depth their storylines feel so detailed despite the short runtime. They all have reasons for what they do and you can understand them. I’m so glad they added this depth as the Manwha didn’t really have that. The emotions were so good and the acting was amazing. The chemistry was amazing too, that shadow kiss scene? Perfection. I really love this series, my only complaint is that it’s so short. Also that we are never getting a season two ? I will forever mourn what could’ve been. We deserved a deeper look into Da-un. 

This series is somehow yaoi, yuri, and straight all at the same time, the full rainbow really. It paints itself as a comedy, and don’t get me wrong it does have its silly goofy moments, but it’s actually so much more than that. It touches on self discovery, sexuality, acceptance, and all different forms of love in such an interesting way. The metaphors shown and the growth that the characters have are really beautiful.  The acting was pretty good though there were some “crying without tears moments,” I thought they portrayed the difference in characters and small mannerisms really well. The comedy was done wall too it was very funny, in contrast the emotional moments were also done really well I was definitely tearing up. I thought the chemistry was good though they didn’t really have that many moments together. I wish we got more of yashiro and kenta as a couple. I thought the angle kiss at the end was weird, would’ve been better if they just didn’t kiss. I liked the cinematography as well (apart from that one awkward angle moment) it was really pretty and felt intentional. The plot was really interesting too and something pretty unique. There’s something really touching and heartfelt about this series. It does have plenty of cringy and cheesy moments but overall it’s a hidden, and very underrated, gem.
