Lavish, interesting and cerebral. I adored the attention to detail, especially the medical scenes. And the director and cinematography was genius. The show’s confusing when you first watch it. But when the pieces start to fall into place you can appreciate it far more. It’s an amazing sci-fi thriller first, BL second.

Great costumes (especially for the main cast) and brilliantly acted. Xiao Zhan kicks it out of the park. Some CGI and practical effects look terrible. This show’s censorship removes the necromancy elements and jumps through hoops to make sure the resentful corpses are not actually the undead - this might cause confusion if you are still reading the novels. Wei Wuxian is de-fanged and the nuance of his bad choices are transposed on other characters to make him seem like a ‘better’ person.

Several continuity errors. But a sweet romance, good acting and generally entertaining. The misunderstanding is suitably heartbreaking and believable for the characters’ personalities (stubborn and immature versus closed off).

Cool visuals. The dubbing is distracting. Believably brutal triad love interest while still upkeeping the funny tone.

This was lovely and gave me a more emotionally mature Call Me by Your Name vibe. Adored the lead actor Miyazawa Hio.

The entire first half of the movie, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did, it was devastating. I love this film but it’s painful, so it’ll take a while before I could watch it again.

Beautiful and well crafted. Cried every episode.

Sweet and concise story with an emotionally believable storyline. There were genuinely funny moments and Nozue and Togawa are likeable.
