Dramas in 2025

Overall what held this together -for me- was the A+ acting and dynamic of the two leads. I just wish they had found a different project (I guess I can dream that they'll costar again). Despite the lackluster plot, there were some really good standalone scenes in this one.

I wasn't planning on watching this in the first place, but found myself scrolling through clips so ended up starting it. It was an entertaining little show and the chemistry was solid. Strong start and middle, ending was a tad underwhelming.

A fun watch of the mystery genre with an awesome supporting cast.  HLL - I hope you go places! If CXH can get a ml role you sure as hell can.

Kind of lost interest somewhere in the middle, but I finished this for Peterpan and Pond because they are dynamite on screen. 

Another fun show (my vocab is limited). But really it was fun. Great leads - enjoyed their fight scenes. Would have been a solid ten if it didn't drag at the end. Also should have had less screen time of Snooze Zhao.

A very heavy show at times because of the themes involved, but an interesting storyline nonetheless. I enjoyed the character driven plot and will most likely check the og novel when I have the time. The two leads were great together, but Zhang Xincheng's performance was definitely my favorite. Can't wait to check out more of his work.

I love when I end up enjoying a drama I wasn't even planning to watch in the first place. This one had a good mix of humor and romance.  Also one of the rare instances where even after the main cp get together, things don't get stale. The leads had impeccable chemistry and balanced each other well - their affectionate and intimate scenes were top tier. 

"In this vast land of mountains and rivers, you're the only freedom I long for."  ~Poetic cinema~ The leads are definitely the driving force of this drama - watch this for Them. And oh the dialogue, this one had some great lines. The chemistry was palpable, ZZX was toxic obsessed psycho king embodied. I know they had to squeeze as much as they could in the time allotted to them, so there were some pacing issues imo.  And the story kind of suffered in that sense. But overall, a decent wuxia bl (hopefully more to come).

Not much to say about this one, other than I enjoyed it for the most part. If you're a fan of AH, then check it out. I liked her and SH as a team.

This was such good fun. Light, quick watch if you're bored. Good amount of action and humor. SH's character in this one is so drastically different from IWTDA, it's baffling. I felt like he was two different people - but that's what makes him such a great performer.  

Insane, crazy,  messy, good fun. 100% Cast. 

Although it kind of went downward at the end (one of those, let's wrap it up neatly in the last ten minutes or so), overall I enjoyed this one. It had its endearing moments. And the shallow side of me - that height difference.

People seem to be hating on this one, but this actually turned out to be a pleasant surprise, maybe because I didn't have any expectations. Plus I wasn't even planning on watching this in the first place. A sweet, fluffy show.

I kept watching for GHJ. Otherwise, how incompetent and dumb is this cop team.

I forget why I started this.... But anyway, pretty sure I enjoyed the cousins' interactions the most, they were funny together. 

Something to pass the time.

This wasn't perfect but it had enough of the quirk that kept me interested. It also had this nostalgic feeling that I can't explain right now that made it enjoyable to me.

Not much to say but hey pretty people. The leads were cute. Simple non story kind of drama.

Maybe because I had high expectations for this one, it ended up falling flat for me. I found the music overbearing. and it just. felt like it was constantly blasting over the dialogue. There was no balance or subtlety. I can hear the music in my head now. As for acting... Xia Jingshi was so incredibly miscast IMHO. For such a layered character he could have been one of those love to hate villains, but the actor and his 'one expression' acting just did not pull through. The other Xia brother though - QTY knocked it out of the park with his nuanced performance. He played the detestable emperor so well.

SAYING ALL THAT I -did- enjoy the characters dynamics of the story. So this was still a decent watch.

Initial reaction - This felt a bit "empty" but I'm not sure why. I did enjoy the cinematography and visuals, but as far as plot goes... Not sure. I love OS and HHY individually, and while they had a good repartee, they didn't really have romantic chemistry imo. Idk. I feel like this could've been better.

Fluffy, lighthearted fun. Really enjoyed the fake marriage trope in this one and the banter/chemistry between the two leads. 

The first episode was a BANGER. But as the show progressed... I feel like the story lost its way. Production quality was great. Also regarding the 'slow' quality of it... I read somewhere that they spoke too slowly in this, but I think the issue was there were too many prolonged pauses? Between dialogue. I am a big fan of non-verbal scenes BUT only when there is purpose to them - when the subtext is -there- and when it's delivered well. So yeah, directing issues in this one.

I have a love/hate relationship with plots dealing with time travel, so my opinion is automatically skewed. I am a big fan of NA's works - She knows how to write characters and this show is no different. Excellent cast and dynamics as usual. 

This had potential and could have been more... *waves hands around vaguely*.  I do enjoy Daigo Kotaro and want to put him in my pocket. Unfortunately, there was little to no chemistry between him and the other lead - who felt pretty green and mechanical imo. Yeah he fits the tall, dark, and handsome part but as far as acting goes...
