Gay shit I watched
I prefer: goofy silly stories, complex plots and characters, gender-nonconformity, relationship dynamics in which both partners are equal (or at least both have a form of power, whether that be status or physical) and tease each other a lot, wholesomeness and good communication, slow burn, supernatural gimmicks, bright colors, indie productions, angst with a happy ending, queer themes such as found family, self-acceptance, social deviance and allegories for systemic oppression/cisheteronormativity.
I dislike: plots that revolve around jealousy and miscommunication, plots that take themselves too seriously without actually containing authenticity or depth, plots that follow a standard BL/GL formula without any innovation, sad grey gritty-ness, graphic violence, sex-negativity, consent issues, gore, full nudity, unexamined judgment towards minorities. Those'll have lower ratings on average.
If you think you vibe with that, take a look. If not, I'm sure you can find some other list that works for you.
>9 means it's brilliant
>8 I'd def recommend.
7 means it's fun enough, might recommend, but there are no masterpieces here
6 means it's watchable but nothing special, standard fare.
5 means it's got some amount of redeeming qualities, but also issues.
<4 means I kinda hated it
mlm = gay or bi guys in here
wlw = lesbian or bi women in here
trans = trans people in here. I don't count standard comedic relief trans women in Thai shows. They have to actually be a character.
ace = ace and/or aro people in here
gnc = gendernonconforming people in here
Happy endings unless stated otherwise under the 'spoiler' tag. BL or GL unless stated otherwise. Current and dropped follow at the end.
I've decluttered the list by moving everything under 100 minutes here: https://kisskh.at/list/1Xz6mOj3
-
101. Ototo no Otto
Japanese Drama - 2018, 3 episodes
mlm. Not a BL. ~150 minutes

-
102. Our Dating Sim

mlm. ~120 minutes
Nothing revolutionary here. Just a well executed classic BL. Good angst, good fluff, good happy ending.
-
103. Papa & Daddy
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
mlm, wlw. ~150 minutes
Not really a BL, but more of a gay slice of life. Divorced dad meets new boyfriend and together they cope with society, homophobia, raising a child, and just life.
Spoiler: At the end they're really mad at each other but there is a season 2 that I haven't watched yet.
-
104. Peach of Time
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
mlm. ~270 minutes

-
105. Plus & Minus
Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
mlm. ~300 minutes
Best friends to lovers. It's about the ethics of divorce. Just solid and familiar. It's really funny. It just works.
-
106. Rainbow Prince
Filipino Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
mlm, trans, gnc. ~500 minutes
CHAOS QUEERS. Who gave a gay club a budget and where can I thank them? It's a musical lol.
I know I already gave the prize of 'campiest show' to a Japanese BL up above, but this is a strong contender. Don't expect any of this to make sense, and don't expect any of it to be competent in any way, that's not what this is about.
Prince flees to other country during coup and takes up secret identity as commoner, and immediately takes advantage of his newfound anonymity to run away from his entourage and aggressively flirt with a hot guy.
As many supporting ladies as possible are played by trans women and drag queens. Except the bodyguard, who is basically a Russian barbie doll, but fierce.
The first episode has a drag show in which the main singer is like 'good evening ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between'.
I think most of this is improvised, and they simply left the bloopers in. It feels like the actors are just hanging out with a vague sense of where the story is supposed to be heading. The plot is nonsensical and melodramatic in the best way.
cw: half undressing a sleeping person
-
107. Rak Diao
Thai Drama - 2022, 15 episodes
mlm. ~700 minutes
Dude annoys guy on the way to job interview, guy turns out to be new boss and new roommate. Enemies to lovers. This is funny and endearing.
cw: several sympathetic characters repeatedly misgender their friend, a trans comedic relief character, with the intention of hurting her feelings, and this is played for laughs.
-
108. Reset
Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
mlm. ~700 minutes
Famous actor gets murdered and time travels back to when he was a rookie, and suddenly there's a mysterious guy helping him out. Really solid BL on all fronts.
-
109. Reverse 4 You
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
wlw. ~320 minutes
Girl with magic time powers tries to not be aggressive lesbian's soulmate, but also can't stop saving her ass. Excellent plot and acting and everything. Really solid.
-
110. Rose In Da House
Thai Drama - 2022, 7 episodes
Not a BL. ~350 minutes
Give a bunch of veteran Thai BL actors control over a series and see how they take apart the genre. This is campy and hilarious, and I'm sure these actors had a lot of fun coming up with it.
-
111. Sannin Fufu
Japanese Drama - 2025, 11 episodes
polyamory, mlm. ~220
A couple decides to add a third, so they can be more stable. Obviously irl that would be a fishy polyamory practice, but this is cutesy fantasy. This is funny and warm and soft. I really love where the plot takes it.
Tangent, but Takuzo is excellent autistic rep. Even though his autism isn't named, it's so obvious. He infodumps, he has delayed emotional processing, he wants to connect with people so bad but says he just can't read people and doesn't understand social boundaries, he connects to animals more easily, he scripts, he takes chit-chat questions literally and far too seriously, he has a history of being rejected over and over again, causing social anxiety, he overextends himself to compensate, he has odd mannerisms, etc.
-
112. See Your Love
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 13 episodes
mlm, background wlw. ~350 minutes
Rich brat on the run from mafia meets deaf aspiring caretaker and hires him. It's silly nonsense, and I'm here for that. Deaf rep in this is pretty good.
-
113. Semantic Error
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
mlm. ~200 minutes
The lead seems autistic coded, alexithymia, very logical. Other than that, just a solid BL with a classic BL dynamic, as far as I remember.
-
114. Something in My Room
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
mlm. ~480 minutes
Ghost story, good communication, privacy theme. Good plot, good dynamic, good angst.
Spoiler: they don't get to stay together in the end.
-
115. Sparks Camp
Filipino TV Show - 2023, 8 episodes
mlm, trans, gnc. ~210 minutes
This is a reality dating show for a bunch of gay guys, hosted by a trans woman. It's heartwarming and dramatic and wholesome and queer.
-
116. Stay
Filipino Drama - 2023, 7 episodes
mlm. ~210 minutes
This is a passion project from a gay Filipino couple living in LA, retelling parts of their own story.
Filipino goes to follow his dreams in hollywood and fails, falls for roommate. It's got soul. It's got authenticity. It's flirty. It's funny.
-
117. Stay by My Side
Taiwanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
mlm. ~200 minutes
Undercover rich guy spots cute basketballer and arranges to be his roommate. Basketballer does some 'no homo tho' stuff, then his lesbian witch sister accidentally gives him back his ghost seeing powers, which he can only get rid of by touching rich guy.
Majorly adorable. Even the ghosts are cute. Solid BL. Solid plot, solid characterization, solid humor. All-round good show.
-
118. Stay by My Side Special
Taiwanese Special - 2024, 1 episode
Just fluff.
-
119. The Day I Loved You
Filipino Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
mlm, minor wlw. ~180 minutes
Activist bad boy x extracurricular activities nerd. It's stupid in the best way. But also genuine and emotional in the second half.
cw: there is some mild violence played for laughs, but it's not major.
-
120. The Heart Killers
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~720 minutes
Ex-thief tattoo artist who got blackmailed into working for a cop goes to spy on pair of assassins who kill bad people, by seducing them. Chaotic and hilarious. I love it.
-
121. The Iron Ladies
Thai Movie - 2000
mlm, trans, gnc. ~104 minutes
Queer sports team, based on true story.
Not a romcom. This is almost a quarter of a century old, and it does show, but this is still great. Very funny, very uplifting.
-
122. The Lover
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
mlm. ~600 minutes.
This is a comedy. It relies on repeated innuendo. Only one out of the four couples in this is gay. The other stories are unrelated and skippable.
They were roommates. Plot is nothing special, it's just situational comedy.
-
123. The Miracle of Teddy Bear
Thai Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
mlm. ~1440 minutes
So this one is controversial. Not everyone likes it, and I'm convinced that's because it appears to be a typical BL on the surface, but that is not what it is. If you're skipping or fast forwarding through this, then yeah the plot isn't going to make sense to you and the ending will come as a shock, because the story is actually quite complex and layered.
This is a queer story about mental health, becoming a better person, overcoming homophobia and being able to start loving yourself through the love of someone else. Despite appearances, Nat is the main character and Tofu is only there to help him grow as a person. He's not an actual love interest. He is a mere representation of a love interest that was already lost.
This series is a form of activism.
Spoiler: depending on how you view this, you could interpret the ending as positive or negative. I interpret it as positive.
-
124. The Secret of Us
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
wlw, background mlm. ~400 minutes
Doctor meets her ex again, the one that broke her heart really badly, but doctor doesn't know that she was forced to do so and actually still loves her.
Excellent acting, beautiful cinematography, plot lacks nothing. They're both insanely pretty.
It doesn't do anything outside of classic Thai GL/BL tropes, it's just that the execution is excellent.
-
125. The Untamed
Chinese Drama - 2019, 50 episodes
censored mlm. ~2250 minutes
Epic adventure with intricate plot and beautiful settings and soundtracks.
I recommend opening up an excel sheet and noting down the names of characters (each character goes by multiple names), as well as the names of clans they belong to (that also go by multiple names), and then a couple of lines of backstory on each character, like their family relations or motivations. Everything is connected and you're not going to remember who's who otherwise.
The gay-ness is obvious to me, but if my dad watched this show, he would miss it completely.
cw: bunch of murder, torture, zombies. The special effects aren't convincing so it doesn't bother me much.
-
126. To Be Continued
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
mlm. ~380 minutes
High school besties who were kinda in-between being friends and lovers separated for 10 years, now reconnect.
The plot, acting and cinematography are all quite good, but this story should've been told linearly instead of with this amount of flashbacks. It is hard to contextualize their current actions without having a clear image of what happened in the past.
-
127. Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna
Japanese Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
wlw. ~150 minutes
She loves cooking but needs someone to eat it, and her neighbor just happens to fit the bill. No giving up on this one before you finished ep 6, that's where the backstory emotions hit.
It's got a good plot, it's sweet, it's considerate, it's got gay panic, it's got self-discovery, what more do you need?
Spoiler: Well it would be nice if it were reciprocated I guess, but we'll wait for season 2 for that.
-
128. Unintentional Love Story
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
mlm. ~350 minutes
Guy loses job because his boss did fraud, finds famous hiding artist, has to convince artist to sign contract in order to get his job back.
Solid standard BL dynamic. Well executed. Nothing out of the ordinary.
-
129. We Are Gamily
Taiwanese Movie - 2017
mlm, wlw. ~130 minutes
Brother and sister are both gay, switch lovers to pretend straightness to parents, hijinks ensue. Comedy. Honestly it's been a while since I watched this, but I definitely remember laughing and liking it.
-
130. We Best Love: No. 1 For You
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
mlm. ~180 minutes
Solid enemies to lovers. Good chemistry. Good plot, good angst. Solid.
-
131. We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
mlm. ~180 minutes
Sequel to the one above.
Misunderstanding leads to them having to start over years later. Still good plot and good angst.
cw: I really really hate how they portrayed the character said to have aspergers. It's not accurate to what autism is and it does feel malicious.
-
132. Yes or No 2
Thai Movie - 2012
wlw, gnc. ~110 minutes
So genuine. There are no evil people here, and yet it's about adultery. Relationships are hard. Communication is hard.
-
133. You Are Mine
Taiwanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
mlm. ~200 minutes
New secretary has to deal with very grumpy boss that everyone else is done with.
This is over the top and ridiculous on purpose, in a good way. It's silly and they have a fun dynamic together. The plot, acting, chemistry, production quality etc are also good. A good watch.
cw: kidnapping. Bit sexist.
-
134. You Are Mine Special
Taiwanese Special - 2024, 1 episode
mlm. ~27 minutes
An extra episode. Fluff and ridiculousness. A happily ever after.
-
135. You Make Me Dance
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
mlm. ~110 minutes
Enemies to lovers, class differences. Cinematographically beautiful. Everything else is solid but not outstanding.
-
136. 23.5
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
wlw, trans, background mlm. ~540 minutes
Awkward girl falls hard for popular and super nice girl, texts her pretending to be guy, and it gets complicated. This is a sweet and awkward high school romance. There's not a lot of drama. There's mostly a lot of wholesomeness.
There's an autistic-coded lesbian in the secondary couple and I love her to bits. Her love interest keeps making me cry because she keeps reinforcing that it's okay for Aylin to be the weird little gremlin that she is.
Also two trans women who date each other. They're adorable. Never seen that before in a show, even though that's really common in real life, so yeah, yay for representation.
-
137. Apple My Love
Thai Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
wlw. ~270 minutes
Ever since receiving an eye donation to cure her blindness, she dreams about a really pretty girl. Pretty girl shows up in real life, and she's too star-struck to be a normal person about it.
The main character is such a dumbass. I love this.
-
138. Ball Boy Tactics
Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
mlm. ~220 minutes
Insecure famous ex-athlete meets very confident current athlete. It feels really realistic in terms of how it deals with both parties' emotions and (sometimes lack of) communication skills. They said the word 'gay' out loud. I don't say this often, but I think this one is well-suited for a season two.
-
139. Every You, Every Me
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
mlm, gnc, background ace. ~440 minutes
Shorter BL stories with the same pair of actors. There is an overarching plot.
It's really good. I enjoyed it a lot. Excellent acting. Special props for whoever made these fashion choices. But I can't give every show a 9. This is really good, but not wildly amazing. Definitely worth a watch though.
-
140. Love Class Season 2
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
mlm. ~250 minutes
3 stories. Guy's disappeared ex reappears with dark past. Dude has crush on clueless best friend. Lad chases hard to get student assistant.
Just a BL of the standard variety.
cw: sleep kiss.
-
141. Memory in the Letter
Thai Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
mlm. ~220 minutes
They're on opposite sides of a magic mirror, in different worlds. The plot is FAST. Whoever made this got a limited runtime and had to cram a lot of material in, and did so pretty effectively. Beautifully shot. Sweet.
cw: abuse from father.
Spoiler: Ending is a weird uncomfortable age gap though.
-
142. ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat
Thai Drama - 2024, 13 episodes
mlm. ~630 minutes
Heartbroken guy gets hired to make a documentary for boyband's last concert. He slowly uncovers and heals the relationships between the band members, reinspires hope for the band's potential future, and falls for the band's lead member.
An above average GMMTV BL, with all the tropes you expect. It stands out in the realism with which it portrays the idol industry, and the way GMMTV kind of casts itself as the villain of the story. The band members are played by an actual boyband.
-
143. The Next Prince
Thai Drama - 2025, 14 episodes
mlm, gnc. ~840 minutes
Average London boy gets told he's a prince of Emmaly and has to fight for the throne, but really he wants to go back home and find his disappeared adoptive dad. He might just stay for that one guard though...
This is pretty enjoyable, but it didn't live up to the expectations the marketing set for it. Parts of it are really very good, like the exploration of the unequal power dynamic in the secondary couple. The plot got a little lost and confused as to what it wanted to say. Maybe the ginormous budget was its downfall, as it means the scale of the production was too large for any one person to oversee, and multiple people's visions for the project got mixed.
-
144. This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
mlm. ~360 minutes
Broke and talentless stir-fried basil lover attempts to swindle chef by pretending he can cook and take over his restaurant, but oh no, chef smells like stir-fried basil and is hot.
This is very silly, in a great way. It has a pretty coherent though not entirely believable plot. Standard Thai BL fare. An enjoyable watch.
-
145. Your Sky
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~580 minutes
Sweetest college kid in the world has to be fake boyfriends with stern schoolmate who probably has a secret crush on him.
The plot and acting are not exceptional, but somehow this works better than your average Thai BL. Maybe it's the directing?
-
146. 1000 Years Old
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~530 minutes
This is goofy and soft and I like it. Dude chases weird things like aliens and ghosts, then unknowingly challenges cutesy vampire to a pig blood jelly soup eating contest. This is low budget but really funny. The vampire is such a dumb softie who's just so head over heels for the ML. I keep thinking I know where the plot is going and the murder and drama is going to start happening, but nope, the plot has other things in mind apparently haha.
-
147. 21 Days Theory
Thai Drama - 2022, 4 episodes
mlm. ~150 minutes
Enemies to lovers high school. Nothing really special, but it's fun enough. Supportive gay uncle is the best character. I recommend it because it's short.
-
148. Anti Reset
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
mlm. ~260 minutes
Falling for robot caretaker who might have to be reset and forget all about everything. It's about how memories shape who you are. The robot is not at all robot-like. It's sweet.
-
149. Bad to Bed
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
mlm. ~200 minutes
Seems confusing at first, but that's because nothing is as it seems, and if you stick with it, you'll catch on later. A story about mental health, trauma and trust.
For some reason they decided to attach the behind the scenes to the end of each episode. You don't need to watch those. They don't add much.
-
150. Be Loved in House: I Do
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
mlm. ~325 minutes
Domineering boss who forbade love in the company goes soft over time. I like the plot, the acting, the humor. But yeah no it's nothing out of the ordinary. Just a BL on the middle to higher end of the spectrum.
cw: the relationship is a little toxic and uncommunicative.
-
151. Blue Canvas of Youthful Days
Chinese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~360 minutes
An actual mainland China BL that had some censorship hiccups but managed to sell the show to an international streaming service.
Class divide, shitty parents, internalized homophobia, an infantilized deaf character, and lots of art students.
Worth a watch, but has its issues.
-
152. Boys Be Brave!
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
mlm. ~240 minutes
Strict guy likes loosy goosy guy who says yes to everything because he doesn't know what he wants. They end up as roommates and have to confront liking each other, while being in denial about that.
It's a standard BL.
-
153. Boys Vibe
Thai TV Show - 2025, 10 episodes
mlm, gnc, not a BL. ~450 minutes
Reality show that is confused about its premise. Are these guys supposed to be here to date each other or to become BL actors? The show wants to do both at the same time. While I think the premise is ethically flawed, the execution very much wasn't. The guys are left fairly free and unpressured. We don't see interpersonal conflicts play out on screen, we only see them referenced in hindsight in emotional speeches by the guys like: 'we learned, we grew, we're really close now'. They clearly do date each other, but that too is not played out on screen, only referenced. This is the first reality show I've seen that strongly values its participants' privacy. It almost feels contradictory.
In the last couple of episodes they open up about their feelings and experiences with queerness. In the beginning I questioned how genuine their proclaimed attractions to the other cast members were, because obviously being in a ship is their ticket to fame and that's their future career, but given the last couple episodes, I can't deny that it's genuine.
It's mostly wholesome friendship vibes. Clearly, the participants had a great time. I wish them the best in their future careers. I think this experience probably helped set them up pretty well.
-
154. Call It What You Want
Thai Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
mlm. ~190 minutes
Exposing abuse in BL industry. It feels genuine, authentic. Good plot.
cw: There is a bit of a power dynamic between main couple.
Spoiler: the ending is not super positive but also not super negative.
-
155. Call It What You Want Season 2
Thai Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
~190 minutes
-
156. Chaser Game W2: Utsukushiki Tennyotachi
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
wlw. ~230 minutes
Season two of Chaser Game W. Fuyu comes back. I like it much better than season 1.
-
157. City of Stars
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm, trans. ~540 minutes
I initially dropped this within ten minutes but I gave it another shot and discovered I was wrong to drop it.
No sense is made in the first episode. Throw logic out the window. The acting isn't good either. And yet I do recommend this series. The characters act like real people. When there's a misunderstanding, they simply ask each other, and bim bam boom, solved! It really feels like a real Thai gay star used this show to express what it's like to be a Thai celebrity, and I appreciate that authenticity. Also, excellent trans representation.
-
158. Coffee Melody
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
mlm, gnc. ~390 minutes
Songwriter meets café owner and hits on him. Café owner is receptive but has poor communication. The show calls that out and makes him learn.
At the time this was made, Thai BL was primarily fantasy-based and didn't really engage with homophobia, internalized or societal, and the ubiquitous top/bottom distinction annoyed me. This show went against the grain, and I really appreciated that. It had a message. But BL has changed, and the message no longer feels revolutionary. Now it's just a pretty slow show without much of a plot. So no I wouldn't recommend this show now, but go back in time a couple of years, and I would have then.
-
159. Cupid's Last Wish
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
mlm. ~450 minutes
This includes a body swap, but I promise it is actually gay and handled well. Countryside besties to lovers. Starts out with the main character being pretty unlikeable, but he changes. It is worth it to continue watching.
-
160. Dark Blue Kiss
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
mlm. ~550 minutes
Continuation of Pete and Kao's story in 'Kiss Me Again'. They still have a fun dynamic, but the plot revolves too much around jealousy, cheating, lying, miscommunication, for my liking. It does also cover coming out and internalized homophobia and other such queer themes. It is fun. I do recommend it.
-
161. Dangerous Romance
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
mlm. ~530 minutes
Bullyxbullied. This starts strong, but kinda fizzles out. A bunch of filler is added in in the middle episodes. There doesn't seem to be much of a plot in those ones. Chemistry isn't there. Sailom doesn't seem into it at all. He just pushes Kanghan away all the time.
There is hinting at a teacher/student lesbian relationship, and I don't like it.
-
162. Deep Night
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
mlm, wlw, polyamory, trans. ~360 minutes
Son of owner of nightclub interns in nightclub and falls for host boy who is also his classmate.
I initially dropped this around episode 5, because it seemed like not much plot was happening anymore, and there was mostly focus on jealousy and skinship, but I picked it back up and don't regret that. It ends quite strong, with an anti-shame progressive message about sex work and polyamory.
It does well on cinematography, the set, lighting, acting, chemistry etc.
-
163. DMD Friendship the Reality
Thai TV Show - 2023, 6 episodes
Not a BL. ~510 minutes
Not a BL, but a reality show in which new actors choose their BL partner, with whom they are officially friends, not romantic partners. Wholesome, supportive, sweet, friendly.
-
164. DMD Friendship the Reality, It Takes Two
Thai TV Show - 2024, 6 episodes
Not a BL. ~360 minutes
In this season it was obvious that most of the ships were pre-decided, though there was one surprise. It is mostly an agency marketing their new talent and new ships. This oddly flip-flops between being scripted and fake and being almost painfully authentic.
-
165. Love Is a Poison
Japanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~200 minutes
The most uptight lawyer ever meets a charming criminal and gets manhandled. Definitely a high degree of wtf, but that also keeps you guessing as to what on earth is going to happen next. Chaotically enjoyable.
-
166. Eccentric Romance
Korean Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~180 minutes
Thai guy and Korean guy have been besties for forever, and maybe they're crushing on each other a lot. Also there's a murderer in their midst and they need to figure out who it is.
-
167. Enchanté
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
mlm. ~440 minutes
Wholesome vibes. They've got good friendship chemistry, as in, it feels like natural teasing. Plot is underwhelming.
-
168. Eternal Butler
Taiwanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. 280 minutes
Rich asshole father buys a humanoid robot to keep his son in line. Robot finds unconventional but very effective methods of doing so, namely by exploiting the son's attraction to him. Son has a type of kink where he likes being taken care of in a benevolently controlling way.
It's hilarious and campy and definitely not highbrow, but also, people with that kink do exist, and maybe it should be okay to show it on screen, maybe that is a sex positive feminism goal? I'm not sure. As an asexual, this isn't my area. But I mean it's fascinating?
Same universe as the BL 'Anti-Reset'.
-
169. FC Soldout
Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
mlm. ~200 minutes
Professional soccer team gets sold to entertainment company that wants only hot players. Players aren't happy, but our ML player secretly kinda likes one of his new actor teammates…
It's funny and enjoyable, but the ending is a bit rushed and illogical. I don't like how it encourages and normalizes parasocial relationships. It feels like it's pandering to sasaengs.
-
170. Fight for You
Taiwanese Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
mlm. ~280 minutes.
Fake relationship leads to a real one, also crime and espionage. It's funny and adorable. The names are so on the nose it's hilarious.

171. Fish upon the Sky
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
mlm. ~540 minutes
Classic enemies to lovers. Good mutual teasing. Worth watching. Nothing out of the ordinary.
-
172. Gameboys
Filipino Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
mlm. ~290 minutes
Has an indie feel. Online quarantaine relationship, one flirty, one emotionally constipated with internalized homophobia and a guilt complex. Gets pretty emotional. Worth watching. Low budget.
-
173. GAP
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
wlw. ~660 minutes
I really appreciate this one for opening the doors for more Thai GL. It is enjoyable enough, and that's mostly because I guess I have a need for seeing women being represented like this, like they matter as individuals, and are worthy of having stories center around them. And the whole show is just really pretty.
But plot-wise? I am unconvinced. It relies on jealousy and miscommunication a bunch, and I'm bored with those tropes. I see feminism in here, and I do appreciate that, but it feels a bit basic.
cw: transphobia

174. Hidden Agenda
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
mlm. ~480 minutes
He asks crush' ex bf to help him hit on her. Ex bf is like 'sure' but actually wants to use the opportunity to hit on him. Healthy relationship and communication in this is actually pretty good. It's sweet enough. The plot is kind of all over the place though. It's just a couple of unrelated things thrown together.
-
175. HIStory2: Right or Wrong
Taiwanese Special - 2018, 8 episodes
mlm. ~200 minutes
Professor dad x student babysitter. I knocked a full point off of this for the age gap and power dynamic that aren't really okay, but this is still really really sweet. Fairly trope-y.
-
176. HIStory4: Close to You
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
mlm. ~480 minutes
'No homo though' besties evolve into 'definitely homo actually.' Idk it's funny enough.
There is also a pretty problematic stalker-y stepsibling relationship though, and they do end up together, so proceed with caution.
-
177. HIStory5: Love in the Future
Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 20 episodes
mlm. ~500 minutes
Accidental time travel from 2000 to 2022. Absolutely terrible communication, but the show knows it and judges it. It's funny, has a decent plot, good dynamic between leads, but yeah no it's not revolutionary.
-
178. I Am Devil
Thai Drama - 2024, 7 episodes
wlw, background mlm. ~270 minutes
Ok so I know this is a low budget series but hear me out. The DRAMA on this is excellent, so unpredictable, so messy, so chaotic. Consider me entertained.
Promiscuous secretly lesbian star falls for her fake husband's sister, while paparazzi, a scorned ex, a scorned arranged fiancée, and an evil grandma are after her.
-
179. I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
mlm. ~120 minutes
Season 2. They're together, but still awkward as hell around each other and unsure how to communicate their feelings, and now they have to learn. It's still really funny, but it feels like things didn't develop enough from last time. It's clearly gearing up for a season 3 though, and I will be watching it.
-
180. Joshi-teki Seikatsu
Japanese Drama - 2018, 4 episodes
trans, wlw, gnc, not a GL. ~190 minutes
Trans girl living her life as a fashionista, looking for a girlfriend. Look the production is competent and engaging and funny and emotional and it's great that something like this can exist, but the politics of this are really lacking.
She's being very judgemental and manipulative, often uses her transness as a scary ploy and her lesbianism to turn guys on. But I guess that's her way of fighting back? She keeps outing herself to strangers as 'a guy', which she clearly isn't, and she doesn't need to do. Also she's played by a cis man.
cw: transphobia, varying severities, coming from everyone including the trans girl herself.
-
181. Kimi no Tsugu Kaori wa
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
wlw, ace, not a GL. ~200 minutes
Secretly lesbian single mom re-meets the one who got away, who is now her son's girlfriend's mom. An exploration of the relationship between the mom and her son. I love it, made me cry. Everyone is so kind and fluffy.
-
182. KinnPorsche
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
mlm, gnc. ~840 minutes
Welp. It's definitely visually stunning. It's engaging and entertaining and the eldest mafia brother is excellent and funny. There is a mostly coherent plot. But it's also toxic and abusive as all hell and you wouldn't be wrong to compare it to Fifty Shades or 365 days. That's absolutely allowed to exist, but it is not my thing.
cw: romanticized rape & intoxication, romanticized torture, nudity, fairly graphic murder
Go watch "History 3: Trapped" instead.
-
183. Kiss Me Again: Pete-Kao
Thai Special - 2018, 3 episodes
mlm. ~770 minutes for total series, but a lot is straight and skippable.
Enemies to friends to lovers. It's been a LONG time since I watched this. They had a fun dynamic. I don't think the consent politics were great. I think it was fairly trope-y. But yeah no I did enjoy it.
-
184. Love Is Better the Second Time Around
Japanese Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
mlm. ~150 minutes
They kissed once as teens, and now they're work acquaintances, and mr big boss comes on to him really strongly, but there's still hurt feelings from before. This is a pretty typical BL. Solid. Worth a watch. Excellent theme song.
-
185. La Pluie
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
mlm, background wlw. ~660 minutes
Rainy deafness soulmates. This starts really strong, but the plot does strange things afterwards, and for a moment it looked like it was gearing up to critique the concept of soulmates, but it absolutely is not that ambitious of a show. It's entertaining, but not more than that. There are lesbians shoehorned in last minute, and I appreciate the gesture.
cw: making out with an intoxicated partner who said no while sober, then lied to hide this fact.
-
186. Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
mlm. ~280 minutes
Taekwondo boys in bad familial situations support each other through that and fall in love, break up, time skip.
When they manage to communicate this is really charming, but most of the time they're being really angry and needlessly hurtful towards each other, especially Dohoe.
-
187. Light on Me
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
mlm. ~380 minutes
It's been a while since I watched this so take it with a grain of salt. Loner decides to make friends by joining student council. Communication in this was pretty decent. Gay panic was pretty good.
-
188. Love Class
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
mlm. ~120 minutes
Dude has to pair with dude in dating class. Also he helps his crush (girl) with stalker problem. Feels so cliché that I keep thinking 'have I watched this before', but no, I haven't. It's alright. Nothing special. Ending is a lil dumb, but it's sweet.
-
189. Love in the Air
Thai Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
mlm. ~580 minutes.
Two stories about hot domineering streetracers falling for cute guys with an inferiority complex. The chemistry is there, so is the production value. It's just not my type of story. I struggled to get through, but don't let that stop you.
-
190. Love in Translation
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
mlm, (and tentative trans, because the comedic relief trans lady feels like more of a person than usual). ~360 minutes
Thai/Mandarin co-business owners, enemies to lovers. The humor at the start is quite childish, but some of the characters are surprisingly emotionally mature and communicative. There is a coherent plot. Enjoyable enough. Worth watching but not a masterpiece.
-
191. My Sweetheart Jom
Thai Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
mlm. ~540 minutes
Rascal finds out his girlfriend is dating a gangster, who now wants to kill him, so his dad sends him to live with a village-head friend in the countryside. They butt heads, but rascal does like village-head quite a lot.
The humor is a bit slapstick, slightly more than average for a Thai BL. It is a fun show, and it has a core message about how to deal with conflict that feels well-thought out and well-implemented. A lot of fat could have been trimmed off of this and it would have made for a more coherent and streamlined show. Too many subplots are happening.
One issue I have with it is that the love interest is played by Saint, the CEO of the production company, and the main character is played by a 21 year old newbie in the industry. Given Thai shipping culture outside of the show itself, that power dynamic feels wrong.
-
192. Our Youth
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
mlm. ~300 minutes.
Bad boy x straight A student, except bad boy is actually just abused and acting out.
I mean it's fine, but I don't get the hype. The plot, characters and relationship dynamic feel very standard BL to me, but the series is trying to convince me it's deep, based on cinematographic vibes and an overused water motif. The water motif doesn't actually add any meaning, because it's used to represent too many things at once: romantic feelings, trouble, connection, overwhelm, Hirukawa etc.
This story was clearly borne out of pure fantasy, not personal experience, and I'm not at all against that, but I want either fantastical silly fun, or for the author to pour their actual heart out about their personal experiences, or even better, both. I don't want a story without silly fun and without personal experience.
-
193. Monster Next Door
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~540 minutes
Extreme introvert x extreme extrovert. A bit MBTI-obsessed. It feels like the main character was unknowingly based on a real life autistic person, and is called an 'introvert,' but it's actually more than just introversion.
This is sweet, fluffy, trope-y. Nothing out of the ordinary for a BL. Well-executed. Good, but not exceptional.
-
194. My Golden Blood
Thai Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
mlm. ~600 minutes
Dude with extra special magic blood has vegetarian vampire bodyguard. This could've done with more conflict and tension between the leads. They're mostly fighting against external threats, which I also like, but it does miss the point of a romance. I do really like how it explores the interplay between fear, power and sexuality through the biting metaphor. That feels true to why western vampires are a popular storytelling device.
-
195. My Love Mix-Up!
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
mlm. ~540 minutes
Based on the Japanese hit 'Kieta Hatsukoi'. Misunderstanding leads to actual feelings. Teenagers figuring out how this whole 'dating' thing is supposed to work, together. They've got songs. It's funny and adorable. Some scenes are excellent and moving, but in other parts the show feels too long, with too much filler.
-
196. My Ride
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
mlm. ~480 minutes
Class divide. Delivery guy x doctor. Delivery guy has kid. It's quite cute. I do think it's worth watching.
cw: I think this one had a 'too drunk to consent' scene, but I don't remember clearly
-
197. My Secret Love
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
mlm. ~540 minutes
Goody two shoes x prankster influencer. Lots of lampshading about classic tropes. Periodically has excellent communication.
-
198. My Strawberry Film
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
mlm, wlw. ~180 minutes
Not a BL/GL, but it is queer and it feels true to life. This has an actual perfectly symmetrical love square. 90's vibe. I appreciate most of these characters, and I appreciate the plot.
cw: implied suicide of wlw background character, mainly a plot device.
-
199. Naughty Babe
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
mlm. ~360 minutes
I know what the title of the show sounds like, but that is not what that means in Thai. Some translations are really unfortunate, but I also kinda think this translation may have been intentional.
Spinoff cutie pie, amnesia + whodunnit. Visually stunning, but the audio could use some work. At some points they demonstrate excellent relationship abilities, at other points terrible. It's got some soap drama tinges. It gets better over time though. Last episode is funny as hell. But the whodunnit is kinda solved on the background, which is a strange choice.
cw: sleep kiss, not great consent politics, but not the worst either.
-
200. Otonari Complex
Japanese Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
gnc. ~200 minutes
Two childhood best friend genderbenders who have a lot of feelings about a lot of stuff, especially each other.
Even though this is technically a boy and a girl who like each other, it messes around with social norms far more than the average BL or GL. It feels queerer. I love it to bits. At least, right up until the last episode, where they get stuck back into gendernonconformity.
