1. When the Phone Rings
Korean Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
I really love the premise of this drama and the excitement I felt during the first few episodes was strong. I really liked the fact that for once the female lead had a greater perspective than the male lead, as it is often the opposite.
However, towards the middle when things started being revealed, I had a mixed feeling of enjoyment and disappointment. Then I felt like the closer we got towards the end, the more derailed it got. That last episode was something else to say the least...
In addition to this, call me inattentive but I had trouble fully understanding the mystery aspect of this drama with how all the characters were related as well as which childhood trauma belonged to whom. I think it shouldn’t be that complicated and of course it all made sense in the last couple of episodes, but the intent of the drama was for the viewer to understand it earlier which I did not.
Despite all of this criticism, When the Phone Rings was still a drama that I looked forward to watching every weekend. It was enjoyable, but I liked the first half better than the second is all.

2. Influence
Japanese Drama - 2021, 5 episodes
It was the perfect amount of episodes to tell this story. I call it a story but it almost feels like it could really hapeen in real life.
Nowadays I prefer to watch more happy shows but sometimes I will still watch something heavier like this. But I'm glad that it's not too long. I completed it in a single evening.

3. Lion no Kakurega
Japanese Drama - 2024, 11 episodes
An emotional and heartwarming family drama with a touch of mystery. It stays true to the commonly seen Japanese drama formula of learning to open up and bring change into the everyday (often in a more extreme/complicated/unusual way) in order to grow. This time it tackles topics like living with someone who has autism, and (spoiler) domestic abuse. I wouldn't say it's particularly unique, but the acting is great and the speach Hiroto made at the wedding anniversary made me cry a bit.
Yagira Yuya, who plays Hiroto, is the main character in another drama that I really like called Gannibal. I really love his character and acting in that drama. I believe season 2 is coming out this year so I'm really looking forward to it!
-
4. Ossan's Love Returns
Japanese Drama - 2024, 9 episodes
Funnier than season 1 and sadder than season 1. Liked it a lot, only there were some things towards the end that I wasn't enjoying so I can't rate it higher.
I don't have much else to say besides that it was a really fun season for the most part :)
-
5. Celebrity
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
The better version of Bitch X Rich.
-
6. Gannibal
Japanese Drama - 2022, 7 episodes
Rewatched January 30th – 31st.
I wanted to rewatch the first season before season 2 comes out in March later this year. It's such a great horror drama and I've been waiting for season 2 for what feels like forever. I think I said it last time, but I really like the main character Daigo a lot. He doesn't take sh*t and I love to see it. I kind of relate to him a bit, just not in a horror setting I guess, haha. Looking forward to seeing what happens in season 2 soon~
-
7. Light Shop
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
The first half of the drama was pure nightmare material, and then it just became more and more heartbreaking. Looks like there'll be a season 2.
-
8. Nodame Cantabile
Japanese Drama - 2006, 11 episodes
I've been meaning to watch Nodame Cantabile for a very long time and now I finally got to it 19 years after it was created, haha. I was 4 years old in 2006~
Yeah, it was made in 2006 so it has its questionable moments, but I try to remember that it's a product of its time. Overall it's a very fun drama with some emotional scenes and a sprinkle of romance. I watched it slowly over 5 days which made me appreciate it even more I think. It's a drama that lifts your mood.
Liked it a lot! ^^
-
9. Study Group
Korean Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
Not even 5 minutes into ep 1 and I already found myself laughing repeatedly. Very fitting intro and OST in general. Good characters and an ok story.
Could it be that I'm comparing Study Group to Week Hero Class 1 too much? There is just something lacking with Study Group. The characters are good and fun but I didn't really feel a strong connection to any of them. The storyline is more on the simple side. I liked that Study Group is more comedic and upbeat tho, it almost feel like a Jdrama but with less emotions. Weak Hero Class 1 is a bit darker but it has a lot more depth in both the story and especially the characters. Is it a fair comparison?
I don't think I would rewatch it but if it gets a 2nd season and it's well recieved then I might watch that.
-
10. Taxi Driver Season 2
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
To me, Taxi Driver isn't a drama you can just watch on a whim. You kinda have to be in the right mindset to fully appreciate it. By that I mean you have to be able to pay good attention, haha.
Taxi Driver season 2 definitely deserves an 8,5/10 but since I wasn't a big fan of a few episodes in the middle, I can't give it that score. The last few episodes were definitely the best ones!
There are episodes based on real crimes in this. Maybe there are more, but I'm aware of the deep fake chatrooms and the burning sun crimes. It's awful to see even in drama format... Horrible disgusting crimes!
I'm satisfied with the main villain in this drama. It's difficult to create good villains apparently so I'm glad Taxi Driver s2 did it well. I liked the introduction to them and their ending. Gosh, the ending was so twisted! The revelation of their forgotten past...! Ew, I love it!
Will there be a season 3?

11. The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call
Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
It's been a while since I binged a drama like this. What's even more rare is that it's a medical drama. I tend to stay away from medical dramas etc due to health anxiety, but since this drama has such a high rating and since I like to challenge myself I decided to give it a try. It screamed good quality within the very first minutes and remained as such throughout the whole drama.
I hope there will be a season 2!
Rewatched May 2nd – 3rd.
After having completed The Tale of Lady Ok, I had to go back and rewatch The Trauma Code. I felt like I would get stuck in a slump if I didn't rewatch this drama. Choo Youngwoo playing a lead role in both dramas made me correlate them (as well as that they're both really good dramas). I also noticed that Kim Jaewon appears as a guest role in The Trauma Code! He plays the role of Choo Youngwoo's characters brother in The Tale of Lady Ok.
I still really hope there will be a season 2! It feels like a drama that can get a 2nd season, so I will keep my hopes up!
Highly likely that I will rewatch this again someday in the future!
Rewatched May 8th – 10th.

12. All! Light! &Team: Lune Daisakusen
Japanese TV Show - 2025, 10 episodes
After spending all of 2024 being a LUNÉ, kicking off 2025 with All Light &TEAM was a great start of the year~ It was fun and impressive to see them build relationships with the town's people. Going around doing tasks and putting on a performance at the end with smiles as payment, how nice~ ^^

13. The Judge from Hell
Korean Drama - 2024, 14 episodes
-
14. Are You Human Too?
Korean Drama - 2018, 36 episodes
Rewatched March 17th – 19th.
Last time I rewatched this drama was over 4 years ago yet I still remember it so vividly (am I a robot too? haha). I decided to rewatch it because I'm currently watching Undercover High School where Seo Kangjoon star as the lead as well. I was given some links to his interviews by another MDL user where I got to learn more about him as a person. He seems like a really good person who many can relate to (which is a relief nowadays tbh...).
Seo Kangjoon's acting is amazing! He portrays both human and robot Nam Shin so well; they are so easy to differentiate because of his acting.
Are You Human Too is a drama I'm very attached to. I watched it for the first time many years ago. At that time, Asian dramas were a newer concept to me and it's dramas like these that made me become a fan of dramas.
Some people are turned off by the fact that the female lead is in a relationship with the robot and not the human. Of course this drama is a bit older, but I think the interspiecies romance is the main reason to blame for the lower rating this drama has. To me, it doesn't matter. It might even happen in real life in the near future, haha. The female lead really says that robots are better than human men, hahaha.
Anyway, I just love the hidden identity trope. Maybe I'll rewatch this sometime in the future as well. Maybe when robots becomes a part of society~? (probably before then, haha).

15. Shopping King Louie
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Rewatched March 19th – 21st.
Shopping King Louie presents the cutest most precious and innocent version of weaponized incompetence (however due to amnesia, an overprotective grandmother and that botchan lifestyle). Boksil would truly be a saint if this happened irl, but in the drama it's made to be innocent and funny. Since it's fake, I like this drama. I love their relationship because they're so cute together~! Even before they start dating they are already "dating"; it's so wholesome and cute~
I guess I have to admit that the first half of the drama is better than the 2nd half in my opinion. It's more fun when Louie has amnesia and live with Boksil.
Judging by my choice of recently rewatched titles, innocent male leads seem to be very attractive to me. I just like purehearted, kind, honest men. Maybe Louie isn't the best example of my ideal man, but still, the innocent part I like~ ^^ tmi~
This is a drama that lifts your mood. It's fun and not supposed to be taken seriously. A few happenings in the drama are quite serious but presented in a funny way which might not be the best approach if a close minded person watched this. But it's just a drama, so let's enjoy it, yeah? ^^

16. Death's Game
Korean Drama - 2023, 4 episodes
Rewatched March 21st – 22nd.
I think the message behing Death's Game is very interesting and can be interpreted in different ways. On one hand, I think it's very cruel to paint suicide victims as sinners. Sending them to hell and punishing them just feels so wrong to me. However, with the high suicide rate in east Asia, maybe something like Death's Game is a good message. Behind it all they want to show that there are people who love you even if you don't realize it. It's a suicide prevention drama, very creatively made with lots of famous actors and actresses who most likely share the same values: don't kill youself, because you are loved. As I can see where both of the extremes are coming from, I have a difficult time picking my stance.
Putting the message aside, this is a very creative drama with a well crafted red thread flowing thoughout the drama (into s2 as well). It can even be a bit trippy sometimes how everything is tied together in more ways than you expect.
Another thing, this drama highlights things like death by child abuse, and in the last episode where the "therapy for men" sign fell on his head in his dream... Death's Game have more than one message.
-
17. Death's Game Part 2
Korean Drama - 2024, 4 episodes
Rewatched March 22nd – 23rd.
I have the same thoughts as part 1.
-
18. The Secret Life of My Secretary
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
It is quite cruel that she's lying to him by taking advantage of his illness for her personal gain. No matter the reason, even if it's love, it's cruel. She didn't get nearly enough punishment as she deserves since the male lead is a softie. If it was me, I would probably never forgive that person. There is a difference between hiding your identity by wearing makeup and a costume, and hiding it by using the other person's weakness. It's a big NO for me...
However, the drama was otherwise cute and light-hearted. I had fun watching it :)
-
19. Weak Hero Class 1
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Rewatched March 26th.
I saw it was finally added to Netflix so I decided to rewatch it again in wait for season 2. However, this rewatch made me lower the score from 9/10 to 8,5/10. In my opinion, episode 1 and episode 8 are solid 9,5/10 (I have rewatched only episode 1 & 8 many times before). But the remaining 6 episodes are between 8/10 to 8,5/10, so I can't have it at 9/10 anymore. I'm looking forward to season 2 tho still, although I'm not sure season 2 will be able to top season 1. We'll see :)
I'm still a Beomseok hater. This time I had to mute a few scenes were he's annoying... Yeah, sure, he has a difficult upbringing and a sad backstory, but that doesn't excuse his actions. He's just frustrating and annoying...
(Spoiler) Still love the scene in ep 8 where Sieun walks out of the classroom after having beat up some of the others, and walking down the corridor, teachers trying to stop him, then he breaks the windows and screams... My whole body is just so excited and tense throughout all of episode 8, but especially that last shot of him...!
To be honest, I don't see myself ever rewatching this again, at least for a while. Unless I get deeply attached to season 2, I think Weak Hero Class 1 has served its purpose in entertaining me for the time being.

20. Summer Strike
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Unfortionately, this isn't very good... I liked the first episode. She went through unfairness and finally decided to semi-stand up for herself and leave. I cried at the end of the episode when she got to the beach. But that's the whole story. It just repeats 11 more times. The female lead wants to know how much of a victim she can become from not talking. The other 3 around her as well just want to be victims so bad. It gets repetitive. This drama also likes to forgive the perpetrators or at least not deal with them correctly. (Spoiler) He stabbed her daughter and then she is forced to lie to protect him because poor grandma is a pushover. Then he crawls back efter grandma passes and expects his children to accept him which they do, which I HATE! Of course he still isn't well and f*cks off with no conclusion there...
Why is there a murder mystery in this drama?? It doesn't fit the story at all! I'd rather get some conlusion to the female lead's problems from ep 1 like for example her ex and her talk out some stuff or Im Siwan punches her prevous boss. I don't understand why she lets everyone treat her so bad! It's all misinformation but she isn't clearing anything up and just turning herself into a victim... Also, why does Dae Ho exist? He was so unnecessary ugh.
I still completed it tho because it's not boring, it's just not good. I also like Im Siwan. The ending was cute but messy with many loose ends. Feels a bit unsatisfying.
-
21. Undercover High School
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
I can't lie, the story is quite ridiculous! Many times I felt the NIS agents weren't very good at their jobs, haha ^^; It feels like a story written by a 15 year old. It's not badly written, but it's like I'm not the target audience, if that makes sense. But watching it for Seo Kangjoon is worth it. As a fan of him, I'm glad I watched this 'til the end :)
Also, Yujeong and Yena had something going on for sure like why else are they playing a romantic soundtrack behind their scene, tehe ^^
I did very much enjoy the north star at the end~ ^^
-
22. Gaus Electronics
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
This was funny and cute~ Similar vibes as Waikiki. Likeable characters :)
-
23. When Life Gives You Tangerines
Korean Drama - 2025, 16 episodes
IU cried in every episode and so did I. A beautiful story about life. It makes me look forward to having children of my own whilst reminding me of how much I love my family.
Everything was just so painfully perfect. The acting and story in this drama is so well crafted it feels like you are a part of their family as well. (Spoilers) Writing the death certificate for your 3 year old child, weeping at your daughters wedding, her dream of being a poet come to life and even the reincarnation of her mother...! I honestly... ㅠㅠ
This drama brings a new appreciation for life. A true message about being alive.
-
24. The Sound of Magic
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Rewatched March 29th – April 5th.
There is just something magical about The Sound of Magic that makes me want to rewatch it. I think it starts with Ji, ends with Wook and rhymes with cookie... it's Ji Changwookie~! I'm really funny, right? ;)
But yeah, I missed Ji Changwook so I decided to rewarch 안나라수마나라~ It's been a while since he took the number 1 spot as my favourite actor, but I don't think I ever announced it. I think I've started to like him even more ever since I became a LUNÉ. Do I like Wookie more because Nicholas looks a bit like him, or do I like Nicholas partly because he looks a bit like Wookie? It's a good question that I don't have the answer to. Either way, it's unconscious, like magic~ :)
-
25. Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
Rewatched April 5th – 8th.
This is the 5th time I rewatched Healer. Healer holds a very special place in my heart; completing it brings me to the verge of tears because of how much I like it. I can't believe this drama is now over 10 years old, and the first time I watched it was in 2018. I gave Healer a 10/10 the first time I watched it, but it wasn't until I rewatched it that it actually became one of my favourite dramas.
I have lowered the score to 9,5/10 simply because I don't find the backstory about the 5 friends and some of the background characters that interesting. I found myself, this time as well, increasing the speed at times. But I do love Healer!
I made a post on the feed about the yoyo guy: https://kisskh.at/profile/SiljeTherese/feeds/J0bNPtR
There is something about Ji Changwook in Healer that is difficult to explain in a normal manner. I keep saying it over and over again, but I just see Nicholas in him now. It makes my heart behave in some kinda way, idk. Anyway, so when do I get a boyfriend?
-
26. Suspicious Partner
Korean Drama - 2017, 40 episodes
Rewatched April 9th – 11th.
Suspicious Partner is very interesting because it's fun but it also has a lot of frustrating moments. It's a drama that some have strong opinions about. I touched on some good points when I rewatched it last time, which I wrote down on my Dramas – 2023 Completed list.
I still hate the cheaters and I'm still an Eun Bonghee supporter. I still feel like it's a waste of time with the misunderstandings due to the communication issues.
I find it interesting that I hate the prosecutor cheif more than the serial murderer, also not a big fan of Eun Bonghee's fashion; two new points.
"인류애"

27. Who Are You: School 2015
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Rewatched April 14th – 18th.
The second lead syndrome is so painful...! ㅠㅠ I don't get SLS often, but I get it with this drama. I know many others agree with me (I think even the female lead actress too if I'm not mistaken). I forgot how bad the SLS was ow...
That's all I have to say, haha
-
28. Weak Hero Class 2
Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
Oh, how long I've been waiting for season 2...! Binged it all the same day it came out. This season was good as well. A lot of similarities but also a lot of differences. A teeny tiny bit brighter than season 1 (probably mainly 'cause of Baku). However, somehow I felt there was less of Sieun in this season. Less satisfying fight scenes. We also got a visit from white truck-kun for whatever reason. (Spoiler) the part a lot of people probably like tho is that Suho wakes up in the last episode.
It seems I've developed a soft spot for Lee Junyoung ever since I saw him in When Life Gives You Tangerines. I also remember his acting in Brave Citizen where he was a spectacular villain character. He was in Love and Leashes as well. So even though his character wasn't exactly supposed to be likeable, I liked seeing him on screen. From the ending, it seems like he be cooking up something in the occasion we get a season 3.
As for actor Ryeo Un, I would love to see him in a villain role one day. His expressions during fight scenes are very scary, haha.
For Park Jihoon, except for maybe season 3 of Weak Hero, I hope to see him in Bastard soon. It's one of my favourite manhwa.
It was a good season 2. I don't think it beats season 1, but it's still good.
-
29. Gannibal Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
The long awaited season 2 has finally been completed (déjà vu). It was well made with great acting, impactful music and striking cinematography. No filler scenes. It was really good, however, there were a few things I didn't like and some odd things, thus it falls in the shadow of season 1.
(Spoilers) To be honest, I didn't want to see Gin. Knowing her backstory just made everything feel sad and uncomfortable. The amount of r*pe and sex scenes was very unpleasant to watch to say the least. And what do you mean he's a "baby" on the inside? What do you mean "mum"? No... And why does Mashiro keep being so protective over these creeps? Don't pity them. How did she get over the trauma in the last scene? Suddenly speach...? Was there really a curse/God 'cause wtf is with that lumberjack looking guy?? Very confusing. How'd he die? Did Keisuke taste bad? That pervert crazy old preist as well and that rainbow lightstick fella... tf?
Season 1 was pure good horror with a likeable male lead. Season 2 was uncomfortable and the male lead became less likeably. (Spoilers) My favourite scene was when Daigo decided to shoot everyone like f*ck yeah that's the crazy guy from season 1. Keisuke just became pityful. I didn't get why he liked being punched by the lumberjack guy.
Sorry, I'm talking bad about season 2 too much. It was still really good. I'm glad it wrapped up as well and I feel satisfied with the ending even though it's lacking a bit.
But I miss you, season 1 Daigo~

30. Family Matters
Korean Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
This feels unique yet I feel like I've seen similar things before. I guess it's an interesting combination of content I'm already familiar with. It's a good drama.
The actress who plays the daughter is gorgeous! This seems to be her first drama. I'll have to keep up to date with her future works :)
I don't understand why she brought the dog to church...
That plot twist at the very end tho wow! I could not predict that! It's honestly great; love it!
Part 2, when?
-
31. The Tale of Lady Ok
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
The Tale of Lady Ok has become one of my favourite Kdramas. It's been a really long time since I felt such strong emotions for a show. The last time I had such a fun time watching a drama was when watching The Trauma Code, which coincidentally star the same actor, Choo Youngwoo. But the emotions I felt whilst watching The Tale of Lady Ok I haven't felt since, well, the last time I rated a drama 9,5/10, I guess ^^; and they can't be compared to The Trauma Code as these two dramas evoke different kinds of emotions.
Such wonderful storytelling with loveable characters. Tender and unconditional love, not only to each other, but to the whole town. I don't really know how to explain it other than it was a great mix of predictability and unpredictability. A very colourful drama.
Im Jiyeon I have previously only watched in The Glory where she plays a cruel bully. I was wondering if I would keep seeing her as that character when watching The Tale of Lady Ok, but that was not the case at all. That only proves how great of an actress she is.
The first drama I saw Choo Youngwoo in was in the BL drama, You Make Me Dance. In this drama as well, one of his two characters is a gay man. In You Make Me Dance I just remembered that I found him very handsome and that it looked like he really didn't want to kiss his male romantic interest, haha ^^; Well, luckily he didn't have to kiss any man in The Tale of Lady Ok. Still, it was a very interesting character, Seong Yungyeom (even though he was a bit annoying). Song Seoin/Cheon Seunghwi was so fun and lovely tho ♡ So was his character in The Trauma Code as well.
No amount of words do this drama justice. I hope to rewatch it in the future and love it as much as this first time watching it ♡
"나는 대단해! 나는 최고야!" ^^

32. Secret Relationships
Korean Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
I decided to watch this drama because after watching The Tale of Lady Ok and then rewatching The Trauma Code, I have become a fan of Choo Youngwoo, and I found out that he has a younger brother named Cha Jungwoo who star in this drama. He played Choo Youngwoo's double in The Tale of Lady Ok and the cast said that the two looked similar and that they got confused sometimes, so I wanted to know how similar they look. Tbh I don't think they look very similar... ^^; The older brother has a very soft yet manly face whilst the younger brother has more of a sharper and slimmer face. Their voices and build are also very different. The similarities would probably be their height. Choo Youngwoo has a very memorable smile, I'm curious if the younger brother has a similar smile (he didn't smile very much in this drama).
Anyway, wow! This is a very interesting BL! There were twists that took me by surprise. I can't say I liked any of the characters tho. We have violent and angry toxic guy, manipulative and psychotic toxic guy, and an annoying guy who doesn't seem that bad in comparison to the other two. The main guy was very frustrating and had his anger management issues as well, but I guess I can't blame him too much for being like that after learning about everything he's been through. Still, I was sat for the toxic, dramatic and psychological romance! It was entertaining :)
-
33. Daily Dose of Sunshine
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I tried watching this drama in the beginning of 2024, but I only got to episode 2. Now I watched it all from the beginning.
Although Daily Dose of Sunshine is a very well made drama, I have to be honest. It's not my favourtie. I've seen others say it's a good depiction of depression. I didn't really like the direction the drama was going in. Was it too realistic for me? I don't know. I just know that I didn't enjoy the feelings I got when watching. It's still a very well made drama, so I don't think I should give it a too low score. I also like Park Boyoung :)
I liked the glow up for the nurse with attachment issues. She looks really pretty when she smiles~ And my favourite character has to be the male lead. He was the most cheerful of the cast after all, maybe that's why. I didn't like the sound of him cracking his knuckles tho ^^;

34. Once Upon a Small Town
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
-
35. You Make Me Dance
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
Rewatched May 12th.
Rewatched because of Choo Youngwoo. I watched this for the first time in 2022 and my review for it back then was pretty bad ^^; Rewatching it now, maybe it's just my bias that has changed, but I think it was better than I remembered. I wrote last time quote: "their chemistry was below average and it looked like the actor who plays Shion doesn't want to be kissed". I don't think so anymore. I mean, it's not the best, but I don't think it looks like he doesn't want to be kissed, haha ^^; And yo, his backstory was SAD, what?? I don't remember that ㅠㅠ It's an alright BL drama. Choo Youngwoo is so cute in this~~
-
36. School 2021
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
I watched 5 episodes of this drama in 2022 for the chef from To My Star, but now I'm completing it for Choo Youngwoo in 2025~ Short about Kim Kangmin, his character is so different from the one he plays in To My Star! (Spoiler) The biggest plot twist about him was that he's a dad! Didn't see that coming.
Loved seeing Choo Youngwoo as a badboy character. I'm not surprised why he's most people's favourite in the series. His character had the most drama surrounding him and his journey to soften his heart was very nice to see~ He has good chemistry with both female leads; I look forward to seeing him star in Head Over Heels with Cho Yihyun. Wish he didn't like the 1st female lead for so long tho. Luckily he took the rejection well and was very mature about the situation, happy for his friends. Instead I would've liked to see more scenes with him and Seoyoung.
This drama has a very slow pace for 3/4th of the drama. The last 2-3 episodes are a lot faster. Maybe they could've devided it up better for a more eavenly paced drama. I think it could've gotten a higher rating on MDL if it did. There is a lot going on, but it doesn't feel like it 'cause of the pacing.
Btw, I've noticed it for a while, but Choo Youngwoo has a slight dialect, right? I'm not very educated on dialects in Korea except for satoori, but I can tell that he isn't from Seoul, which I saw is true (he's from Sejong). I really like his dialect anyway ^^
-
37. Dear Hongrang
Korean Drama - 2025, 11 episodes
The driector definitely had a vision. It's giving the dark forest in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone mixed with Wuxia Cdramas. The dub is awful! Only Lee Jaewook sounded believeable. I got used to it tho. The cuts were strange and I wasn't a fan of the filter and CGI either.
What was the purpose of the Snow Man?? Wtf was he?? I also knew who the painter was in the beginning of ep 2. I had hoped I was wrong, but no. That's a let down. It also leaves a bad taste in my mouth that they pretend to be related but still love each other romantically. I didn't feel their chemistry much. Their most romantic moments were when they were crying. With the story, there was lots of unnecessary things in the middle e.g. with the marriage; plain filler. Hate the ending as well. I guess it fits, but I still hate it.
A drama is not the best choice to showcase this story. I think it'd be a lot better as a theatre play. The best part of the drama was the music.

38. Todome no Kiss
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
Rewatched May 19th – 21st.
It's the 5th time I rewatched Todome no Kiss yet the ending still brings me to tears. It's remains my number 1 favourite Jdrama. The reason why I love Todome no Kiss is the character developments; how even small changes in actions can effect another person, even to the point of insanity. I love how Otaro is far from a perfect main character. He shouldn't be likeable, yet you still root for him. It's a very detailed and original story where every action is of importance.
I look forward to the next time I rewatch it~

39. Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete
Japanese Drama - 2022, 9 episodes
I was intrigued by the synopsis, then I got worried when watching the first episode since it seemed to be going in the direction of stigmatizing D.I.D. But there were so many plot twists; I coldn't see where the story was going. Lots of crazy women in this which we love to see. (Spoiler) The true identity of LL was quite disappointing because he was my first guess from the beginning. That was the only plot twist I expected. Urashima Eiji's story was so sad! Kyoka, that crazy woman...!! His ending... ㅠㅠ Had I been alone in the room when watching that scene in the last episode, I would've cried... I felt so bad for him in the first couple of episodes when he discovered that he has D.I.D. and then when B1 (Hachinoi Eiji) kept talking bad about him even though Urashima Eiji had been protecting him all this time... and then Urashima Eiji's ending with Kyoka...! He loved her!! I'm so sad ㅠㅠ
My most accuracte score would be 8,3/10. (Spoiler) The reveal of LL's identity is what brought the score down from 8,5/10. 8/10 feels a bit too low, but I can't give this an 8,5/10. It was a good drama!

40. Flex X Cop
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
Rewatched May 23rd – 25th.
There is never a boring moment in this drama. Even though episodic formats isn't my first choice when picking a drama, Flex X Cop made me like it more. Every episode is better than the previous one. The cases are all interesting with fun twists and unexpected events. Even on this rewatch I found it fun. I also love how there is Isoo's family case and Ganghyeon's father's case spread out throughout the episodes, getting more and more clues as we go along. I raised the score from 8,5 to 9/10 upon this rewatch.
I'm very curious how they will do season 2 now that both of the main character's cases are solved. Will they simply stick with the episodic format with our main cast or will they include yet another mystery stretching throughout all the episodes. I hope for the 2nd scenario. Including some romance will be a thin line between cute and uneccessary; romance can mess up the story if they force it in. But I do ship them so if it's done well then I have no complaints.
Btw, I really love Lee Ganghyeon's parents~ Such nice people!

41. Alice, the Final Weapon
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
This was quite good! Reading the synopsis, checking out the tags and seeing the rating, this drama lived up to my expectations! Comparing this drama to other Kdramas feels kind of odd. It feels more like a Jdrama to me. The mental health aspect of it, the overly comedic scenes spread throughout the drama in between the trauma and violence, and the way it was shot. At the same time, I agree with another user who said that this drama reminds them of The End of the Fxxxing World, a British TV series I'm a big fan of. They have a lot of similarities! Some might find the upbeat music played during traumatic scenes as well as the amout of comedy in this to be unfitting for the heavy subjects discussed (especially regarding the male lead), but I find it artistic. Once again, it reminds me of TEOTFW.
I also really like the romance between the leads. It's really pure and precious, contrasting the dangerous situations occuring around them. Their daydreaming about each other together was especially adorable~
The last couple of episodes were a bit of a mess tho tbh ^^; (Spoiler) I am quite confused about the last scene too. Somehow I felt vibes of a tragic ending from this in the middle of it, so at first when they both pass out in the car in the last scene, it made sense. It was especially emotionally gripping since they were dreaming about their future. But then they were missing from the car in the last shot. They have to have gotten away somehow. This also reminds me of season 1 of TEOTFW where you think the male lead dies but then in season 2 he is fine (almost). Will it remain as an open ending forever or will we get a season 2 of this drama sometime in the future? I would definitely watch it!
