Favorite Dramas
My list of favorite dramas over the years in no particular order. Some of the dramas I re-watched a couple times already.
-
1. Meteor Garden
Taiwanese Drama - 2001, 19 episodes
Meteor Garden 2001 is just legendary. It was one of my first Taiwanese dramas that I genuinely loved and enjoyed as a kid! F4 aka JVKV still holds a special place in my heart! It may not have the best quality, fashion, or setting but the acting were great and passionate. The chemistry among the leads you can't deny it!
JVKV are my F4 forever.

2. The Outsiders
Taiwanese Drama - 2004, 20 episodes
Going down the memory lane of old, classic Taiwanese dramas, this is no exception of being one of the best Taiwanese dramas out there. AAAH! Its still one of my favorite because of its unique plot - well during the time this drama aired it was pretty unique in my opinion. Definitely recommend watching it if you wanna see some handsome men, brotherhood, gang fights, rebelling, etc. xD JUST WATCH IT! IT'S ON NETFLIX! Although, the subtitles might not do it justice.

3. Meteor Garden Season 2
Taiwanese Drama - 2002, 31 episodes
-
4. My MVP Valentine
Taiwanese Drama - 2002, 18 episodes
My MVP Valentine may not be your cup of tea due to its low production and quality but for me it is one of my favorite childhood dramas. I've always love the setting of this drama, albeit some of the characters were annoying. The OST introduced me to one of my favorite singers, BoA as well as the kpop group, Shinhwa. Although during this time I was not in kpop until later on in my teenage years. haha
The setting revolves around basketball so if you like basketball you may like this. However, do not expect the acting to be superb. Some of the actors in here are/were real basketball players fyi.
Currently on netflix -
5. Lavender
Taiwanese Drama - 2001, 15 episodes
I don't remember if this drama was popular during its time of airing, however I loved it because I can relate with the female lead's character health issue. That's one of the reasons why I loved this drama because it has something I can relate with. However, the overall plot is actually quite sad, bittersweet but also cute. It has a very nice plot, and it pretty much triggered my love for lavender. xD
Prepare some tissues. That's all I'm going to say. :(
It's also on netflix!

6. Fated to Love You
Taiwanese Drama - 2008, 24 episodes
Fated to Love You Taiwanese version. There's not much to say because I can tell you the acting was more convincing and passionate in this one than the other versions. ESPECIALLY THE HEARTBREAKING SCENE! Maybe I'm being biased, sorry not sorry.
-
7. Chinese Paladin
Chinese Drama - 2005, 34 episodes
The Chinese Paladin series is one of my favorite xianxia series ever!!
The CGI may not be the best but it passes IN MY OPINION! The plot was interesting because its about the descendant of NuWa and her journey in protecting her kingdom as finding her true love. Its a bittersweet drama let me just say that.
-
8. Hana Yori Dango
Japanese Drama - 2005, 9 episodes
This version of the Hana Yori Dango series is also a popular one. Even my brother liked it! haha It has more exquisite fashion, settings, and very nice acting. This and Meteor Garden 2001 are classics, so its a must watch!
-
9. It Started with a Kiss
Taiwanese Drama - 2005, 20 episodes
I think I rewatched this drama couple of times since it aired. It will never get old, the OST is timeless. I love the comedy, the gradual romance, the dedication. THE ACTING! It's just a legendary drama for me.

Chinese Drama - 2006, 41 episodes
Return of the Condor Heroes was one of my first wuxia dramas that I really loved to watch, it was the drama that catapulted my love for Wuxia and martial arts in general. This version willalways be my favorite of the Jin Yong drama adaptations.
-
11. Romantic Princess
Taiwanese Drama - 2007, 13 episodes
Romantic Princess was fun to watch because it reminded me of Meteor Garden when this drama first aired. I believe Angela Chang was the reason why I went ahead and watched this drama, but I was obssessed with Wu Chun by the end of it. LMAO I wasn't into Fahrenheit back then though.

31. When We Were Young
Chinese Drama - 2018, 24 episodes
I have rewatched this drama once, it's a very good drama for beginner c-drama fans. I enjoyed it very much because it's very chill, it's cute, the nostalgic 90s reminds me of my childhood as well. I loved the friendship portrayed int his drama as well as the little crush between the leads. No romance but that's fine with me! :]
-
32. Story of Yanxi Palace
Chinese Drama - 2018, 70 episodes
-
33. Joy of Life
Chinese Drama - 2019, 46 episodes
If you want me to choose between The Untamed and Joy of Life, I'd choose Joy of Life. Although both dramas were my top 2 favorites of 2019. :)
Joy of Life is one of the rare Chinese dramas that I thoroughly enjoyed EVERY minute of because of its hilarious lines, and subtle expressions the lead actor plays. The martial choreography is amazing to watch as well as the plot was very interesting! I definitely recommend this drama if you're looking for something fun to watch and doesn't drag in the middle. You can read more of my in-depth review on the Joy of Life page as well. :)

34. Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1
Chinese Drama - 2022, 27 episodes
This is popular for a good reason. I love the character growth of Shao Sheng, the storyline progress, the banters from the side characters, the cinematography. CHEF'S KISS! So far I've watched this drama twice! Definitely a must watch!
-
35. Sword Snow Stride
Chinese Drama - 2021, 38 episodes
-
36. My Journey to You
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
The plot and the martial arts in this drama was PHENOMENAL! If you haven't watched it yet, don't hesitate!
-
37. The Story of Pearl Girl
Chinese Drama - 2024, 40 episodes
-
38. The First Frost
Chinese Drama - 2025, 32 episodes
I really enjoyed the complexity of the female lead, Wen Yi Fan. Her personality really despicts someone with a troubled past, a past that can't be said unless she trusts you completely. I resonated with her very much, albeit with different scenarios. She is what drives me to continue watching this drama because I wanted to see her growth a person, for her to gain confidence. Maybe I wanted that for myself as well. And I was really happy to see her gain what she deserves in life!
It's very rare to see this complex of a character in an Asian drama because it's usually a bubbly female lead chasing after someone. Whereas, in this drama, it is the reverse as the male lead, Sang Yan, chases after WYF. SY's dedication to WYF really shines through the entire time. It's not rare in C-dramaland, but it does make one wish to have a similar love in life. It is rare, however, to see a male lead chase after a female lead for so long that's for sure - it's usually the opposite gender that does it.
