Same. Majority of Thai bls are aimed at a particular demographic of people who are willing to eat up the most mediocre grade of bls as long as it has excessive fan service by the actors or smut, ignoring all the plotholes.
My gay cousin said the bls he feels comfortable watching are Japanese bls.
The only Thai bl he likes is "I told sunset about you". The rest are unwatchable to him.

Its because Thai bl culture is different. The actors play up their fan service so they have more fans that feel connected to them, their ship and their characters.
Japanese bl culture is different and doesn't play up interactions between the actors as much, so people don't feel connected enough to give it millions of views and 100k comments.
I prefer Japanese bl and Korean bl a lot more tbh.
