Who doesn’t want to turn their life upside-down, while laughing at who have ruined it before?

I bet this is going to be my favourite k-drama ever and the main reason for that is, definitely, its soul. But let me explain. Quick reminder, we are in a fictional world, so nothing similar could happen in real life. Despite this little typo, through all the sixteen episodes, I found myself attached to the screen with this feeling, difficult to put into words. I believe the project wants to stimulate the greed that’s in anyone of us: an irresistible sense of satisfaction and power, delivered by the knowledge of the future and the progression of the FL’s revenge. And it succeeds beautifully: it’s so easy to empathize with Ji-Won, so natural to be amused by her taking active control of her life, that whoever is watching is trapped in this new, incredible dimension. This feeling can be more or less strong depending on everyone’s personal experiences, so we should also consider a margin of subjectivity, but, in my opinion, there is an objectively solid (ground) amount in everyone. Furthermore, from a certain point, the main characters became two: I think it’s easy, for men, real ones, to connect with our fabulous ML. Ji-Hyuk, besides helping the FL, also goes through some changes in his own, personal life and attitude (Yu-Ra is part of this. I’ve seen others say they did it to make the series longer, but I think it’s one of the new events that happen due to the changes). He becomes the exact type of man I want by my side in my life. He's kind-hearted, supporter, provider, loyal, a perfect gentleman and he's so tall, almost 1.90m. His coolness’ level is also increased by how he backed up the FL, in secret, at the beginning.

The general direction of this journey is towards happiness, wonderful: she’s got to fight for it, but also deserves to be supported by a loyal, genuine and strong team (strong meaning tight and cohesive). Friendship is the main theme, for me, here: the two female characters portrait a singular and fascinating dynamic, providing an example that shows how the context you’re in changes the perception you have of yourself, your attitude and actions. Finding out you are worth of safe love and beautiful things is kind of moving, especially when someone taught you the complete opposite for years. Consequentially, violence has a big role in the story: ‘no one should touch you like that’ goes straight to the point (by Ji-Hyuk ep 5). Someone should be strong to protect themselves and the ones they love; physical force shouldn’t be a menace, a threat to weaker people, especially female partners. Of course, nobody’s born knowing: the drama carefully shows all the influences the main characters have received, through attentive flashbacks or new material. Everyone can spot the difference between Ji-Won’s father, her mother and Su-Min’s parents. Also, Min-Hwan’s mother is embarrassing and, because of her believes, that guy grew up thinking he could do anything he wanted without facing consequences. He is convinced he’s really something, while he’s just a disgusting piece of trash.

Song Ha-yoon (Jung Soo-min) and Lee Yi-kyung (Park Min-hwan) are, in a walk, the best actors involved in this project. They both do a marvellous job, amazing. Their faces perfectly fit their roles: they seem real psychopaths, mad people, especially her. That girl planned a whole life with Ji-Won, ruining her suppose friend. It’s a sensational character. I could feel it all, since the actress portraits it so well (there is a confrontation later in the show, fabulous scene, where she changed attitude in a camera turn). Additionally, I’d like to briefly mention the fighting scenes. I believe the result is overall awesome, the only mistake (let’s call it like this) is in the last episode, I want you to spot it. In my opinion is a production’s blunder. Music and sounds well follow the events. In particular, that feeling mentioned at the beginning, the satisfaction, is also achieved thanks to tones and effects. Other themes are sometimes moving, I cried once or twice, my favourite is - Wounds of Time - by Kim So Yeon.

As now, I watched the whole drama three times, plus my favourite scenes. I believe this means it’s really something: the sensations you feel empathizing with the FL, make you feel so stronger and make you want to watch the story again.
Thank you for reading,
