sadly they messed up the second part
The first ten episodes were fine, the story had a clear purpose and there weren't many cliches. They flew, I was so captured by the plot and the time-travel thing. I was curious about what happened between the lead characters. Nothing was done or decided, everything could have been changed even by a small gesture. Sadly the female lead seems not really on track, especially with the mad taxi driver. Also, there were some unbelievable communication issues because the fl was herself, then not anymore, and again another time: a little bit messy I'd say. It should have been planned a little better. On the other side, the ml is slow, insecure, and determined to act "cool" with the fl. The beautiful thing is that everything is connected but at the end, the fl decides to reset everything. What was the sense of the first part of the drama then? Then it became a classical rom-com like any other, although I appreciated the time they spent in the countryside, at the sea: all four of them were carefree, thoughtless, awesome scenes. I skipped episode thirteen, it was a mistake but it was predictable, I knew what I missed: firstly it wasn't crucial, also it was kinda obvious and ordinary. They meet again in the future. I found fine all the coincidences, the "destiny" that was calling. Then they rush things another time for example with the marriage thing.
From the first two episodes, I got the idea that the drama would have been about depression problems, stress caused by success and disabilitiles. It was disappointing. Also, the whole thing was maybe too much focused only on the main couple.
Other things are good: the acting, the music. Personally "grandma" best character ever, I loved her, she was the one who remembered everything. Kim Tae Seong my baby, I started rooting for him at some point, I was happy he followed his dad in life as a policeman. I was hoping he'd had a gf or that he wasn't in love with the fl anymore ...
P.S. I don't consider RW in my final rating.

A REAL STORY
1- STORYI think that this story is so realistic. When Best is falling in love with Dew I can clearly imagine what he is feeling; during all the scenes where Best hide while seeing Dew, I can find me in his behavior. 'If I were Best/Dew I would also do something similar, that's what I thought while watching the series. This is new for me: I have never felt like this towards a character before. There were also no clichés except for the female character.
Let's talk about this cause I'm tired of seeing a negative representation of female characters. What she does in the last episode is so cruel: you don't have the right to talk about other people's (that are also your friends, that trust you) feelings with their parents (Dew's mother in this case). Doing this girls will be hated too much :(
2- ACTING
The acting is great, all the actors did well! I can feel Best and Dew's anxiety and shyness while meeting or seeing each other (so cuteee). The actor I empathized the most with is War (Best) especially when he was crying cause he thought Dew likes Fern; I cried with him :(
3-MUSIC
The OST is enjoyable, it matches with the vibe of the series; War's voice is so gentle >-<
4-RW
I will find it difficult to rewatch the series, especially because of the ending. (P.S. I don't consider the rewatch value in my final rating).
P.S. HOW ABOUT A SECOND SEASON?

I liked it
When I heard about the comeback of the kings I was starving, so I'm glad that this series was good also because it seems to be the last MaxTul's project. The most important thing I wanna say, which is also the reason why I gave the series 8.5, is the change of environment. All the bl series I have seen since the beginning were set in schools/universities or at work but the love story between Bun and Tan is set in the middle of a murder. Due to this, the story is more eventful and not only concerned about romance. So what I appreciate is the mix between romance and something else because if you do things like that the series won't be repetitive and will be more interesting.
Secondly, there is a nice balance between the love story and the setting because the love story isn't overshadowed by the setting. At the beginning of the show I was scared of that and I'm relieved that it didn't happen because it would be an easy mistake.
In addition to the interesting plot and the nice balance of the show, there are the love scenes. I have noticed the good chemistry between the two actors since Together With Me and I'm happy to have seen it in this project too. The cute scenes may be quite trivial and a little bit cheesy but the thing is I love this kind of scenes. The hot one is so well done! It is not only because I can see all the desire in their eyes and their kisses but also because the longing is due to the sexual tension of the previous episodes. Tan has been heavily hitting on Bun since the beginning.
Lastly, I wanna explain my ratings on music and rewatch value. The opening is proper and I can say the same thing talking about the music because it helps to involve the viewer in the series. About the rewatch value I have to say that it won't be attractive doing a complete rewatch when you already know the end of the crime part. If I will watch something again I'll only select some of the scenes that I've liked the most.
Thank you for reading, kisses <3

Charming (THE FIRST HALF)
I decided to watch this series because of the hype it has. After the first episode I was reluctant to finish it and I dropped it. One month or more passed and I chose to continue it and see how it was. I don’t regret it but I didn’t find it flawless. I want to analyse this together with you, because I haven’t read the novel and in this case it seems crucial.𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 𝓘 𝓭𝓸𝓷'𝓽 𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮/𝓘'𝓶 𝓷𝓸𝓽 𝓼𝓾𝓻𝓮 𝓪𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽
- 🇫🇮🇷🇸🇹 🇵🇴🇮🇳🇹. I don’t know what happened to the author in the second half of the project: everything starts to make zero sense. From the extreme, enormous miscommunication to how can Seo Wei direct a company and the main (completely nonsense) events in the last four episodes. It's like the author/director wanted to keep milking the story instead of letting it end. The final episode is the cherry on the top: it’s shorter and feeble, not comparable with the fierce, charm and energy seen at the beginning of the series. The plot is interesting at first, it feels like a real ‘enemies to lovers’…
- 🇸🇪🇨🇴🇳🇩 🇵🇴🇮🇳🇹. The very first episode, as I said, made me initially stop. The impression it passes down is one of the most toxic and childish I have ever gotten of a project. However, watching the whole work, I believe its purpose is to highlight the characters’ growth (Chi Cheng and Wu Seo Wei’s). Also, it well explains the initial situation, it clarifies all the facts.
- 🇹🇭🇮🇷🇩 🇵🇴🇮🇳🇹. Wu Seo Wei claims to be straight. The comprehension of his sexual orientation never happens and the viewer feels confused. A conversation between friends is missing here, an official realization from the main character instead of the usual ‘I’m straight but I like him’.
- 🇫🇴🇺🇷🇹🇭 🇵🇴🇮🇳🇹. There is a significant dispute over the sexual interactions. This is a huge and sensitive topic, because ‘consent’ should be the most vital part of a couple’s intimate life, especially if we’re talking about something that runs on television. I read some other reviews regarding the main couple and, although it seems SA, people who read the novel claim that is BDSM. In my opinion, it isn’t clear: there are no clues about the alleged BDSM, if not one frame in the second half or another one where Wu Seo Wei is blindfolded. Due to this missing scene or conversation, people think is SA. It is true that Chi Cheng mentions several times ‘I cannot bring myself to force onto him’ when consulting Guo about it. And it is true that Wu Seo Wei clearly expressed his displeasure towards some of Chi Cheng’s actions. Furthermore, in a shoot during the second half, Chi Cheng backed off after seeing Wu Seo Wei didn't want anything. Finally, BDSM actually works that way (with the pain and ‘saying no’ stuff) and there is a specific word to use when you can’t bear with it anymore (that is not just ‘please stop’). What went wrong for me is the communication with the viewers who didn’t read the novel: initially I believed it was SA as well but, now that I have this new prospective, I’m starting to see the project under a different light. Indeed, considering my taste, I would have liked to see even more (if you’re into this you can watch ‘The Next Prince’ ep 8).
Anyway, these reflections lead to appreciate the director’s work about these exchanges. The sexual interactions, the kisses, the hands on the neck, the catches, the force all assume another form, other colours. Nevertheless, I still have doubts about the start (meaning I’m unsure about the rating as well): Chi Cheng’s approach is physical indeed, but he does nothing until is Wu Seo Wei to say ‘yes’ (except for one specific occasion, which Wu Seo Wei considers a proper SA).
However, few occurrences aren’t included in this analysis. For example, the reason why both couples have proper, complete sex. As I see it, the way they are led to it is one of the most unsafe I have ever seen. I'll let you be the judge. Despite this, both first time scenes is romantic and well acted; I, also, really appreciate the whole candle setting.
- 🇫🇮🇫🇹🇭 🇵🇴🇮🇳🇹. Xiao Shuai and Wu Seo Wei’s friendship is difficult to frame. Should we appreciate the mutual back up even when the decisions are insane? I’d like to mention the very beginning (when Seo Wei came up with the idea of pursuing Chi Cheng) as an example. And isn’t it shocking that the same friend who sustains you is the one making you do things you don’t want to? I’ll choose the last part of the previous point as an example (‘For example, the reason why both couples have proper, complete sex’). Furthermore, they forget everything one another. From my prospective, this friendship is undefined (maybe because they have known each other for so long), limitless but also bilateral, therefore balanced. In the end, it seems a good thing: they both worry and care so much for each other.
𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓘 𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮
I find the whole ‘snakes thing’ extremely fascinating. From what I’ve read, they symbolise Chi Cheng’s obsession, his link with the past and, through them, we can track the character’s growth. This evolution can, also, be see through locations: Chi Cheng’s first house is my second favourite setting (dark, deep, mysterious – just like him), but then he moves to a lighter place (guess why). Moreover, I find the snake a very sensual and charming animal, it perfectly represents its owner and his soul. But they can kill too; this is the discomfort, the anger, the grudge of this character. Despite the ‘sexual topic’ we just discussed, Chi Cheng’s character has an aura that enchants me (and his taste in bad is exciting). I believe he changes for Seo Wei and really cares for him. All the miscommunication in the second half is a huge shame.
Additionally, the support of Chi Cheng’s older sister is moving. It seems like they don’t see each other that much but she always looks out for him. In the beginning with Yue Yue, then with their father. Like her, Seo Wei’s mother has a crucial role in the story. She’s another lovely sustaining character that ‘understands the two of them’.
Lastly, there is a take I’m crazy about: the ‘firework scene’. It’s absolutely my favourite of the whole show. There is a stunning kiss in my opinion and everything feels so natural, calm and comfortable. The characters are smiling happily, fearlessly. The kiss is what charms me and catches me the most, it’s just so well shot and directed. Furthermore, its setting is my number-one location between all the places: Wu Seo Wei’s home, the house where his mother lives.

- 🇩🇮🇷🇪🇨🇹🇮🇴🇳 🇦🇳🇩 🇸🇪🇹🇹🇮🇳🇬🇸. I read that the director and the author are the same person. I think I can see that in the final result. The way the scenes are shot, it’s like I can identify her ‘touch’ somehow. For example, in the symbolism of few locations (Chi Cheng’s apt) or in the characters’ interactions. This is an important detail that the director took seriously into consideration since she’s also the writer (I talked about this before in this review).
- 🇻🇮🇸🇺🇦🇱🇸 🇦🇳🇩 🇲🇺🇸🇮🇨. The photography and colours aren’t exciting. Most of the tones seem flat except, for example, that blue tone you see in the cover (that is from a specific scene in the show) or the pastel colours you see at Seo Wei’s home (idyllic environment). Except for two locations (Wu Seo Wei’s home, Chi Cheng’s first apt), the other settings are, again, nothing exciting, just normal. I fell in love with the opening and that moving guitar theme. Overall, I like the songs, and the sound is also good.
- 🇦🇨🇹🇮🇳🇬 🇦🇳🇩 🇨🇱🇴🇹🇭🇪🇸. The actors’ performances are generally good; I see enough chemistry between the two couples. One thing I don’t like is the crying scenes. Personally, I find it so difficult to act naturally and seem realistic. Not everyone can do it. In particular, Zi Yu’s acting (in crying scenes) doesn’t impress me much, and he cries a lot. Liu Xuan Cheng’s representation also doesn’t amaze me. I slightly prefer Zhan Xuan and Tian Xu Ning’s interpretations. The casting is great: aesthetically, the main couple is perfect. Tian Xu Ning and Zi Yu look extremely nice together. I can't really explain how, but both their faces and bodies are somehow an impeccable and ideal match. Especially, their visages. In particular, their moles (on the face). Although, as I said, I don’t really like the colours, the clothes are marvellous. Specifically, I’m addicted to Chi Cheng’s white shirt with black flowers. I'm literally so obsessed I wanted to buy it.
𝓡𝓮𝔀𝓪𝓽𝓬𝓱 𝓥𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓮
I think I’m going to watch again just one or two scenes. I’d recommend the show but just the first half? The second one makes so no sense that I don’t know what to say. It’s such a shame. It is indeed interesting at first…
This is one of those times when I really am sad about it.

The usual toxic trope, but well produced and performed
I feel like this plot is a little borderline. Although there is an important revelation in the end, the relationship between Seo Jeong Han and Il Jo has a huge problem: the toxicity. Honestly, a part of me likes it, just because the sexual interactions are strong, passionate and well filmed. On the other hand, Seo Jeong Han’s behaviour towards Il Jo is not really acceptable. He wields power over his weaker cousin, not only sexual (that I consider okay if both parts are fine, some people like to have sex this way), but also emotional (that I consider the real matter), leading to easily evitable misunderstandings. One of the main issues is the absence of the bottom’s personality, he is completely dominated by the top. Furthermore, the other elements aren’t that original: the safe second lead, the half-brother who’s a jerk, the father and his plans for Seo Jeong Han’s career. Nothing that we haven’t already seen. Lastly, the end wasn’t exciting: I know I ask too much but it would have been nice to see them together starting their new life (or maybe have a second season? Impossible). In conclusion, this story isn’t that great and the toxicity decreases its value. The performances are on another level, though. Both main characters are fabulous! Jeong Ri U in so incisive: that almost sadistic grin that at one point turns into a genuine, spontaneous smile kind of melted me. Yoon Ji Sung’s puppy face is exceptional (the problem is the lack of personality of the character, not the actor’s performance). To sum up, both portraits their characters’ emotions in a marvellous way and the chemistry is enchanting, I could see right through their eyes, I felt their sentiments as well. Also, I need to mention Lee Dong Joo’s interpretation: his evil eyes, his smirks, his provocative behaviour. Lastly, great work everyone. Tear-jerking music is important in this type of series: it helps you connect with the characters’ sadness and feelings. in addition, I liked the audio during sex scenes. In my opinion, the filming is good and the grey atmosphere and colour-grade matches the story’s vibes (the perfect example is Seo Jeong Han's house). The countryside home, on the contrary, is the bright place: it seems a warm hug, a comfy and cozy place (my favourite location).
The relationship is toxic, nevertheless I recommend this series because basically I enjoyed it (the same thing happened with ‘Nevertheless’ few years ago – not bl though). Furthermore, I think I’m going to watch some scenes again (probably sex scenes).
Thank you for reading,

School Trip: Joined a Group I’m Not Close To

The usual cute BL
Short review for this one.The plot is something we already saw, nothing new, a standard school bl. Hioki is extremely cute, but his personality is kind of standard (bottom standard, shy and clumsy). Same thing for Watarai (cold with everyone, silent). The friendships are so nice: both groups are genuine and safe, my favourite thing of the show. The acting is pleasant: everyone does a good job, nothing feels unnatural. The kiss scene is well performed; the chemistry is there during the show not only between the main couple, but the whole cast. The direction is good, just few shoots could have been better, for example I’m not a huge fan of fish kisses, because they feel so unrealistic (only their first is like this, so I believe it’s a director’s choice). The ending song is my favourite, but the others are enjoyable. I loved the filming: the lighting and colours are fantastic; the settings are classic but nice. The one thing I particularly appreciate is the opening: the frames change three times, following the timeline and the plot. I’m not going to watch the series again, I can still recommend it though. This is a standard drama, cute, good to see if you need some love.

An unapologetically excessive story
Let's all 'Mi Sati' here. The plot is so good. It makes sense in its own world and there’s nothing to say, it just works. And it is coherent until the end (the very last scene is extremely funny, best take of the whole show). Even though it’s a standard story, it feels unique. This is a powerful affirmation I’m making. Furthermore, I’m not from Thailand but I know that the soap operas Thee watches are popular in the country so the whole thing makes even more sense and it's even funnier. The main relationship is a slow burn, one of my favourites and I believe is also well written. The first four episodes give the watcher the opportunity to get a full picture of the whole situation and characters' background. Consequentially, there is a strong connection between the viewers and the show. We all feel like entering another world (Thee’s or Peach’s pov), joining the characters’ journey. How this happens is different from other series, all due to Mr Thee, a character we have never seen before.
The timing and development are right. The first kiss (even though is not their best kiss, I think because of the location, not very stable so they couldn’t move much) is great, the setting fabulous. It’s not late, not early. Loved the second kiss as well, the location perfect. The whole scene is good: Peach thinks (the whole episode) about what to do and gives a definitive answer at the end: no waste of time with misunderstandings. This means the relationship is a mature one. We are sure, we are okay and it’s not the end of the series.
The characters are cool, well scripted and elaborated. As I previously said, Thee is the best for me here. I see his growth during the whole show and his love for Peach is so sincere. But, since I am a photographer myself, I especially love Phuwin’s character and the whole shooting/modelling environment. Moreover, Peach seems to be my perfect man: he’s balanced, kind, genuine, mature, confident but not pretentious; he plays an instrument, knows what he wants and I like how he’s dressed up. Mok is also a crucial character. His presence as a friend is reassuring and, at the same time, extremely funny. He is the person who helps Thee and Peach’s encounter (I mean adjusting to each other’s reality): they enter each other’s lives and come up with a harmonious mix truly loving and understanding one another. The balance between main and side couples seems quite right. The only thing I can say is that I would have liked to see more Mok and Rome story (2-3 more scenes) but it’s not a mistake, the screen time is ultimately correct. William is, indeed, a guest character while Perth is a support one.
The acting is not bad either. Pond does a marvellous job, as well as Est; Perth and Santa, William, Bonnie, JJ and Godji are amazing. Overall, the result is good but, sadly, I have to spend a few words about Phuwin’s solo performance. I’d like to preface that I’m a huge fan, okay? I really admire him as a person and actor. I’m sure he gave all he could. Still, in episode 6 there is a very unnatural cry scene (In episode 7 he cries again but his face is covered by his hand so the shoot feels more spontaneous) and some of his facial expressions just feel artificial.
Furthermore, some PondPhuwin’s takes feel forced, not kisses but other physical interactions. I saw them in ‘We Are’ and, frankly, in this show something seems off. Not always, but sometimes. In the previous show (We Are) they felt always natural and comfortable with each other, while here, again just few times, their interactions are somehow restrained and with the handbrake on. One of my favourite scenes of theirs is the sex scene that is, actually, a love scene. If you get what I’m saying you know that was good. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic. They talk and then, just looking at each other, communicate their mutual intention of a deeper physical contact. The scene is gentile, sweet, genuine, right in time and well-acted. I adore it (I think it’s gonna be my favourite of PondPhuwin’s bed shoots).
I don’t really enjoy Thee’s mom’s acting. I believe her performance is correct, considering her character. But still, while Thee seems to fit, she doesn’t. The character is too much, that feels almost out of place.
The music is enjoyable. The effects well emphasize Pond’s great acting performance and I haven’t seen editing or lightning errors. The cinematography is nice: I like the colours, the settings and the attention dedicated to the photography things, both equipment and shootings seem professional.
I don’t like Pond’s tattoo. Let me explain: the idea is great and cool but the result could have been better. The part on the chest is great, the other on the arm not really. In my opinion the two drawings aren’t well connected.

Captivating Series
The first thing I want to say is about the ML, the kind of man I'd want by my side in my real life. He's kind-hearted, he's a solid support, a gentleman and (most importantly) he's so tall, like a tower, so much that I felt protected in his arms. His coolness is increased by how he initially secretly helped the FL. Maybe it's a cliché but it's just so damn good!About the two main «enemies» I feel like their faces are perfect for their roles, they seem real psychopaths, especially when they laugh. That's a sign the production was well focused on smaller details too.
I have to confess I'm in love with Park Min Young (FL). I saw three/four of her works and I'm thinking about watching all the others. She's pretty and cool and great in every role I see her, I'm going crazy. Except for some forced expressions sometimes.
Music and sounds are crucial for this type of novel. I like what I think is the main theme, the one in the ending. The other sounds match the scenes' suspense, they aren't disturbing but feel right for the vibe of the show. Filming and lighting are marvellous, settings are nice.
I liked the plot, it's the interesting type with the «go back in time» thing. It was well done with the flashbacks in all different situations. What captures me is the feeling of power and satisfaction, stronger than ever. I travel with the FL and I want what she wants (revenge). That's a good thing, it means it's a good product. The only flaw is the ending, rushed as always and a little messy but it's nothing compared to the whole story (despite cliches).
This isn't the kind of show that can be rewatched, but still I did it, two times. I believe this means the show is really something. The sensations you feel, empathizing with the FL, makes you feel so strong you have to watch it again.
Thank you for reading,

A messed up storyline for the beginning of a stunning couple
Total 6.5Story 5.5
Acting and Casting 8
Music and Production 7.5
Rewatch Value 5
I’ll start this review by saying I decided to watch this series after starting Only Friends Dream On. I had been aware of the JossGawin couple for a while (and I’ve fallen in love with them in no time), but I couldn’t bring myself to embark on My Golden Blood because it didn’t seem that good. Looks like I wasn’t wrong.
I’m quite into vampires and their tropes in films, and that’s why I’m disappointed when it comes to this plot. In particular:
𝟙- The ‘golden blood’ thing seems interesting but, in the end doesn’t do much; Mark’s abilities are basically the same as before. So, this alleged power isn’t that exciting after all. The whole story is based on this element, even Mark’s attraction towards Tong. Why isn’t it more special? In addition, vampire stories are usually so charming and enchanting. This time, I didn’t feel that way.
𝟚- The ‘plot twist’ doesn’t surprise me, I have known for a while. Everything is so suspicious, it’s impossible not to notice. Of course, this works for everyone except Tong (and Mark, but his reasons are valid): how can you blindly trust someone (not even a human being but a vampire) you just met? In my opinion, Gawin’s character is too 𝖘𝖙𝖚𝖕𝖎𝖉. He is twenty years old; he’s not a high schooler anymore. He acts like a baby because he’s always been treated like one at the orphanage. And I get what the initial plan is, but it doesn’t work. This makes it extremely difficult to empathize with Tong, who’s the character that guides the viewers. The screenwriting is the problem here: it shouldn’t be acceptable to have a main character like this one, his choices aren’t possibly shareable.
𝟛- Tonkla’s character is one of the most mistreated I have ever seen in the history of BLs. There’s supposed to be a ‘friendship trope’ somewhere, but it’s not available during all the twelve episodes. Tong literally abandons him (two times – this is one of the great main character’s decisions), believing Mark over him. Clearly, who would choose to trust his childhood best friend, who he grew up with, over a sexy vampire? Tonkla and Nakan’s characters are the ones who make more sense in this series: they have an opinion, and can actually connect brain cells. I understand them more than Tong. Instead, both Mark and Tong are passive characters. They don’t do anything regarding the ‘golden blood’ plot. They don’t add their point of view, because they don’t have one (Tong is a baby; Mark blindly follows Thara’s orders – the blind leading the blind ahahah).
𝟜- Mark and Tong only care about their love story. They’re completely disconnected from reality, and only care about being together. Love is important, but in this case the plot is just unbalanced. Furthermore, the relationship itself isn’t that captivating. From my perspective, this is due to how the characters are written. As I said before, Tong’s too childish, so Mark is almost a father figure (crazy!). This love story feels sudden, not solid and a bit boring. But generally, most of the things that happen seem wrong or don’t make any sense (for example Mark’s power that stops working in some situations). I wanted to drop this project two or three times.
What made me continue? 𝕲𝖆𝖜𝖎𝖓 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕵𝖔𝖘𝖘.
As I said at the beginning, I’m falling in love with this new couple. Before watching My Golden Blood, I’ve listened to some of their interviews, knowing how they met and what they have in common. I wanted to see them acting until the end.
I believe both of them do a good job trying to portrait the characters. I think the writing itself is what had to be improved here. Going through MGB behind the scenes, I heard Gawin saying how he tried to think of his younger self to reach Tong’s dimension. He understood what the authors wanted, but, as I said multiple times, the output isn’t great for me. I’ve seen Gawin acting before and I liked him; this time, although he fitted the role, I genuinely just couldn’t like his character. On the other hand, it’s my first time with Joss’ performance. I'm happy with what I see: he can act and his expressions are accurate for the vampire role. Nevertheless, the result is the same: he achieves the aim, and this is the problem (due to the character - but this situation is better that Tong's). I’m currently seeing OFDO, and I’ve noticed the difference between their interactions then and now. In this case, both seem more mature (for now). The casting, though, is good: Joss is accurate as a vampire. He and Gawin look very good together (faces, heights and body sizes). I have to point out one scene: their first kiss. Just fantastic.
I love Thara’s actress (Um). she’s attractive, but scaring and mysterious. And gorgeous, extremely beautiful; more than perfect for the part. Mond (Nakan)’s appearance makes him also cut to be a vampire. They both do an awesome performance; they’re my favourites. Neo (Tonkla) is also a good character (I love seeing him, Joss and Gawin together again in OFDO – do you get déjà vu), I appreciate his role so much. Unfortunately, few scenes aren’t of my liking (for example, the scene when he cries – I can say no more for the spoilers).
I enjoyed all the ‘special effects’ regarding the vampire’s world: the super-speed (this in particular), the teeth, the coloured-eyes, the ‘medicine’ power and blood smell. Also, the fighting scenes seem well acted and directed (with this cool super-speed). Nothing much to say about the photography and setting, just my favourite places are Thara’s house and the auntie’s flower shop. Gawin’s voice is wonderful as always, Joss isn’t bad either, and I like their voices together. The OSTs are good for me; nothing outstanding, but romantic and passionate.
So far, I feel like this could have been a better series if it was more balanced and just made more sense, somehow. I’m going to say this again: the writing is the problem. It's a bit a shame, because I think Joss and Gawin, in good conditions, would definitely kill it. I'm hoping to see them even more after OFDO. I recommend this show to JossGawin's fans who are curious about their first project, want to know how everything started.

two smiles can trap your soul
Romantic, spontaneous, comfortable. That’s how I’d describe the relationship between DoHoe and JuYeong. A pure feeling, slowly blossomed from smiles and silent support. Their story is sure deep and challenging, the themes are heavy, their emotions leap off the screen. I was firstly hesitant to start this series. I have been hearing about it for some time and people were excitedly sad toward it. The bar was high and I was a bit scared to feel disappointed. Also, I’m particularly sensitive and emphatical over this kind of plots. Basically, I cry a lot. I decided to watch the first episode and, after about two weeks, I saw the second and finished the whole show. What catches me is how genuine and pure and kind this love is. The neatness makes me cry. I want this. This kind of tenderness is what I’m searching for myself. Everything feels calm and right from the beginning; there is a clear path. Their expressions, their body language have a precise direction. All the things that surround them disappear: that’s how it should be. Their life is not good but, when they are together, all the problems become dust in the wind. Simultaneously, they fight for their mutual happiness. The contrast between external and internal sensations is crystal clear: cold and warm, peace and war.
Stunning, marvellous: the plot is moving and I mean it. It shakes something in me.
The writing is amazing and charming. The conversations are true, properly deep and heavy (for example the discussions about why they separated), but also light and bright (for example them chatting while going home). The dialogues are mature and perfectly portraits the gradual evolution of the main relationship. Few more words about the 'main issue' would have been nice though. I understand what happens but still. The visuals and the cinematography are pretty fabulous as well. In particular, I love the colours and the photography. Furthermore, in my opinion, the direction is another expression of the main contrast of this project: there are lively, animated scenes (for example the taekwondo ones) that represent the chaos, the excitement, and static shoots (for example some of the ones at home) that stan for the harmony and quietness the main characters taste while being together. Even I feel at ease watching and hearing them interact. The show should be sad but it’s so well done that you forget about crying.
Not only the actors are handsome and look so good together, but the characters are both wonderfully recorded and portraited. The acting performances live up perfectly to the writing and the story.
In particular, the taekwondo scenes are amazing. Both Kim Nu Rim (DoHoe) and Lee Sun (JuYeong) do so well. I even thought there were two stuntmen, but I believe it’s not the case since I didn’t find any names in the cast. Moreover, the looks, the glances, the eyes, the kisses, the touching. Natural, authentic, everything is felt for real. And their smiles…they completely trap you. It’s difficult to explain. You just feel. A lot. There is only one take, someone is crying and it doesn’t seem that spontaneous (no spoilers). But just this one thing.
Finally, the music adds a further delicate touch to the series. It seems to match the atmosphere and to represent both the comfort and the sadness. Like a tender melody that makes you cry, it amplifies the emotions the characters pass down. You know that moment you feel down and decide to listen to sad songs? It’s the same.
An important personal consideration: the sensations I felt through this show are the same ones I had watching ‘Banana Fish’. I don’t know if you are familiar with the anime/manga. The themes are heavy, nevertheless everything is so well done that it’s impossible not to like it. So, without further ado, I highly recommend you to watch this series.

What a huge Roller Coaster
Plot 7.5Acting and Characters 8
Music and Production 7.5
Rewatch Value 5
At first, I wanted to drop this series. The plot wasn’t bad but a little uncomfortable for me. I had this uneasy sensation towards it. After thinking about it, I decided to continue watching because it was actually interesting and I saw a spoiler video of a nice scene. I believe I made the right choice. Nothing marvellous, but the right combination of love and psychic elements, definitely my cup of tea. The story is not predictable and, at least for me, there is a critical plot twist. So fascinating.
I’m a bit unsure about the ending. I believe it’s a little rushed? Da On needed some alone time, of course, so going abroad was the right choice but I would have appreciate one or two more scenes after it.
Lastly, I have questions:
- What happened to Da On’s father? We see him only one time, then he disappears.
- How could Da On present the project after what happened and with the think of his loved one in the hospital? He wins. This is unreal.
Let’s talk about the characters.
Sin Jae Min is, undoubtedly, my favourite character here. I love how his personality is portraited and the way his mind works is absolutely interesting. The actor (Kim Ho Young) is hot and fabulous at his job. His eyes are famished, crazy and pass down the right feelings and energy (for eleven years). Also, I’m addicted to his poker face. He is surely ill.
Kim Su Hyeon is no less interesting. His behaviour, violent and ambiguous, seems to come from his dysfunctional family dynamics. This poor guy doesn’t know how to clearly and healthily get or ask for what he wants. Again, the actor (Cha Jung Woo) is so very hot and so great at his job. A fierce gaze and very insisting manners: I feel so sorry for him (he’s a little dumb).
Jung Da On is trapped in an awful situation. Empathizing with him, you feel powerless. I have to say something about Kim Jun Seo’s performance though. He isn’t bad. He’s cute and ‘in distress’ but I didn’t appreciate his crying scene (in the last episode if I’m correct).
Ju Seong Hyeon apparently is here only to save Da On from the clutches of the ‘childhood friends’ duo. He’s the usual green forest. Evergreen, obviously. At first, I didn’t like him, but then I changed my mind because the other two are rotten, and so is the environment they nurture. The actor’s performance (Cha Sun Hyung) is good. Sweet and placid eyes, calm attitude and soft look.
Nothing much to say about the music. Honestly, I don’t think there’s a main theme and, for me, this is not nice. However, the direction seems good, as well as the lightning and the sounds effect. The setting is classic: office, home, outside bars.
I’m not going to watch this series again but I’ll recommend it to you. Especially if you are into psychological contents.

Well detailed mini-work

I like this story. My first thought goes to how genuinely the relationship between the two starts and grows during the show. Everything seems so natural and spontaneous, like finding your own person. Slowly, knowing each other for real. Then the spark, the confession, the strength. This plot is also well managed and structured. No waste of time with irrelevant things (the side couple is cute and has, in my opinion, the right quantity of screentime). Maybe because of the short amount of time available. This is a journey we take with the main characters. Honestly, I would have preferred to see just few more scenes with them together as a couple.
I only have one question: what’s Gu Jae Yeon’s job? He’s a stuntman but also an executive director? Because he knows about fighting? I believe so.
The performances are good. I particularly appreciate the fighting training and shooting scenes: I find them professionally portraited, realistic. My favourite scene is, undoubtedly, the ‘lockers scene’ in episode five. Everything is perfect, from the acting to the filming. The light is stunning, marvellous, idyllic. Everyone does a good job, in general. Furthermore, I like the casting choices: Oh Jin Seok and Lee Tae Hyung look so good together.
As far as I can tell, there isn’t an ost song. I don’t know how I feel about that cause is my first time, but maybe I would have preferred to hear one. However, the sound is good as well as the direction and the screenplay. I like the dialogues, they’re not silly or useless. I believe everything is carefully chosen and there is attention to details.
I recommend this series because I founf it so enjoyable. Also, it’s pleasant and easy to watch it all in one evening.

That last episode ...
Story and ThemesThe story is really great. Not only the plot is interesting, but is also well managed and it's not the classic CEO and girl trope. I couldn’t guess the complete enigma, but trying to find it with the characters was fun for me and well planned by the authors.
The relationship of the main couple is focused on building trust and being each other’s solid ground (the only thing that doesn’t make sense is the amusement park scene – I believe he was following her but why expose her like this?). The slow burn is pleasant, the communication slowly improves and so does the confidence of the female lead, who starts to show her real self to other people. The correct balance of cute couple’s moments and serious things is crucial to grant the viewer an enjoyable watch. I consider this series is a big path to ‘coming out and clean’ of her, the marriage and all the family’s secrets.
The whole blackmailing plot is challenging, but in a good way. It makes sense. One of the feelings I have towards this is disgust for the parents and the grandfather. They made tons of wrong choices, starting with not relying on therapy regarding the child’s matter. And why? I suppose it would be seen as a dishonour or similar. All they cared about was their own image, not the well-being of the boy, in particular the grandfather who had no shame. One key theme here is the influence the environment you are in has on your own actions and thoughts, one example is Paek Sa-Eon’s mother, who loved her son but couldn’t save him, who ended up committing a crime.
Unfortunately, the last episode is a big no. This is a first: the main plot ends and there is a whole episode left. Wasted. Completely wasted. What happen doesn’t make sense at all, nothing that couldn’t be solved with e ten-minutes talk and a catharsis crying together. That time could have been used to say more about the side couple (they don’t kiss even once but they announce a wedding - the propose isn’t shown. I get they are support characters but, on mydramalist, they’re in the main cast), Park Do-Jae’s relationship with the male lead, simply the main couple rebuilding their lives together, in a better way. I briefly read that this is the novel’s ending; the episode could have been structured differently at least.
Acting and characters
Amazing casting choices and fabulous acting. Everyone does a great job, but I particularly appreciate Park Jae-Yun’s performance: terrific! His character is, in my opinion, the most emotionally and physically demanding; best actor of the show (he should have been listed as main character, not support). Chae Soo-Bin and Yoo Yeon-Seok’s portrayal is also awesome. They are true to their feelings, the chemistry is there: the kisses are great, their tears feel natural. Furthermore, their appearances fit aesthetically: I love seeing them together (also, Yoo Yeon-Seok’s back in the last episode is really something, it’s so big I just want to be held by him).
My favourite character is Park Do-Jae. I loved him since the beginning and I cried for him. He’s cool, even cooler in the second half, sentimental and hot. He totally got me. His relationship with the main lead is another one that follows the trust path I mentioned before (or maybe I’m just into bromance). As I said above, I believe there’s a missing conversation between them.
Music and production
Tear-jerking music that matches the atmosphere, good job. Attention to details: nice blood, two-coloured eyes appreciated. The direction isn’t bad, just not my favourite. Few scenes and takes caught my interest. Good lighting and tones; my favourite locations are the orphanage and the fishing house near the lake (or was it the sea?).
Rewatch
I don’t think I’m going to watch this series again but I definitely recommend it. One hundred percent worth watching. I've been thinking about giving 8.5 and not 9 (due to the last episode) but I can't. The actual final rating is 8.8 according to my calculations.

I feel like this is THE office drama
Little spolers, I'm sorryThis is the standard office drama: he the CEO and she the secretary. Nothing new but a classic drama, an evergreen. The comedy part is really good, enjoyable and pleasant, it doesn’t feel too much, everything makes sense related to the characters. The relationships are strong and feel coherent. For example, I love the friendship between the Lee Young-Jun and Park Yu-Sik. Also, the atmosphere inside the work team is genuine and not toxic at all. Lastly, the two side couples are funny, cute and concrete (they don’t feel like just a ‘filling the episodes’ thing).
The family drama is well done. Young-Jun parents facing their mistakes, apologising for what happened with both brothers and these two talking things out. They all start a new path as a family, Young-Jun’s brother goes to therapy, wants to find himself.
The main couple is good (ofc) but, for me, there should have been a change that I don’t see: good work/private balance. After they get together, it feels like they still are boss and employee after work hours. She is apologising for things that should be nothing. The output is to have him often right and she, somehow, wrong, even when the apology is mutual. I see him trying to be different and being rejected by her behaviour. She is the one that doesn’t understand that, since they’re a couple now, things should be different. Not at work, I only mean this for private stuffs. For example, she was late for the fitting because of work, why is he mad? And why does she apologies? And why did he pick her dress and hairstyle for the wedding? I don’t find this right.
The acting was definitely the highlight of this show, fantastic. Nothing to say, it was all great and marvellous, everyone did a great job. Every character is singular somehow and it’s not just due to the idea itself but also to how it was portraited. Moving moments were well acted. Park Seo-Jun and Park Min-Young are amazing. I love her so much, I saw other works of her but he was a surprise. I’m going to watch other dramas of his now. I have to say something about the kissing and stuff: I’m amazed. I have seen other dramas, and this show is from 2018 so…I’m impressed of how the kisses are good (except for maybe two, the ones that starts her and I don’t know how to explain this to myself). The hugs re fine as well, quite natural even though he never lays his chin on her shoulder (왜요??).
The songs are good; the sound and graphic effects are great (i particulrly like Park Seo-Jun singing, but i can see it is recorded and the lipsing isn't perfect). The settings are fine, nothing that catch my eyes except for Kim Mi-So’s home and the rooftop apt with all those plants. I don’t like some scenes and editing stuffs. Sometimes I see angles that don’t make sense, I feel like some shootings could have been better if directed in a different way, and there is a wrong-edited part (a repetition of a take from the same pov. You can see that is wrong since there’s a gap, the face moved, just a little).
I’m writing this review after watching it for the second time (first time at least five years ago). As I said before, I feel like it’s an evergreen. This dynamic is frequently used but those two (main couple) aren’t easily forgettable.

This series is not that good but I was deeply emotionally involved.
The plot is standard, nothing outstanding. One thing I have to mention is the focus on family dysfunctional dynamics. I’ve experienced feelings like don’t be accepted in your own family, being different, having an exhausting parent who doesn’t know how to do their job, lack of communication… I believe all those things are well portraited here. I could see how the childhood dynamics interfere with today’s life and relationships, even in the little things and behaviours. Also, how someone can overcome all this, by finding people who want to and try to love them correctly and genuinely. In particular, Natsuki’s acting is what struck me the most. He’s always happy, joyful and cheerful and enthusiast but inside there is the mother and the lost of a crucial person. His phone buzzing every single minute, its noise is so frustrating that you get to understand Kosuke’s pain a little more. Masashi’s performance isn’t bad either, but feels less natural. A scene I love is the one with Kosuke’s mother. He is great there, really. I have to say something about Kosuke’s mom as well, her performance is great and the character very interesting. This mother-son dynamic is the most appealing thing of the series.
Unfortunately, the intimate scenes are a huge, enormous, giant problem that cannot be ignored. Both the actors and the director don’t do a good job, at all. Everything, every single thing, is so synthetic and fake. First, the kisses (there should be two more, by the way, because they can’t say goodbye with the hand anymore): the kiss itself, the slowness, the touching. Everything is a ‘no’ for me. Second the filming: if the kiss is bad, because that’s what it is, why do you zoom on it? It’s absurd. You should hide it, film from another angle. The s*x scene (if we can call it like this) is also not good. And this is making me thinking: how do they select actors? Why did they chose them if their kissing is like this? There are only two/three intimate good moments that feels natural. My favourite is a Shinichiro’s kiss on Kosuke’s back (the morning after).
It's a shame. The rest of the filming is good and matches with the atmosphere. I wanna mention a shoot when they’re arguing: the camera is positioned in an angle that expand the space, increasing the distance between the two. Also, the music is fantastic, marvellous, fabulous. I play the flute and I enjoyed listen to it the whole time. There’s also the piano. I can tell this aspect was well looked after. I loved it. This is definitely my favourite thing from this show.
