As a major shareholder, she cannot let the law company run without controlling it. So she will probably go to…
It's likely, however being a shareholder doesn't mean you gotta work in that company. Like, for example, Gido's wife is a major shareholder, but she's a businesswoman with her own company in construction industry. And I'm sure there are other shareholders with unrelated occupations, who just want to get dividends. Being a shareholder means they have the right to partake in making decisions for the company.
I actually like that he tried to make his father's death natural so as to cover up him being among all the rotten…
Gido's public apology for his father's misdeeds was so easy for him to sway the public opinion that it just made me think the whole cover up of his father's death was really unnecessary. Gido could have simply distanced himself from his father, like what he did with the other victims. He may not have won the election with his father's confession video still airing, but at least he wouldn't have gotten 10 years prison sentence for instigating a murder of an innocent scape goat.
And the rest of his mistakes were just encroaching paranoia culminating in complete unraveling, which was entertaining to watch though 🤣. Gotta wonder how the hell his rich businesswoman wife got herself married to that scum in the first place and endured him for so long. Her family provided him with money to open that law firm, so I'm not sure how he enticed her family. His father's connections maybe?
I also liked Gido's wife character, she may have been antagonistic to FL for most of the time, but she was a pro businesswoman. Her eyerolling at her corrupt lying husband's attempts to become a politician was hilarious to watch. I eyerolled with her, what a farce. For once, a wife character that doesn't jump with joy at the opportunity to become a supplement to her politician husband's public image.
As the majority shareholder, she can also completely reform the place. Even if it's from Jangsan's offices, she…
Yea, I think she'll start working mostly on pro-bono cases. And I don't think she's that charitable to donate money, she's Noh Charity after all. She loves her expensive brand "babies" too much 😂.
Another open question that remains is what FL will do after the events. Oh Ha Ran, actually being a very chill businesswoman, gifts her Gido's shares of Jangsang in the end. So it's open to interpretation whether she'll go back to work as an attorney in Jangsang or will stay working as a public defender. I got the impression that getting those shares was a goal in itself for FL, as a promise to her grandma. So now that she achieved it and there won't be any financial problems for her, she can do whatever she wants, no need to prove anything to anyone anymore.
So the wedding is true or no?? i realy liked the chemistry here
It's left up for the audience to decide whether there's something there between the leads. I'd say most people here were left with the impression that there is.
also the friend who attacked her husband because of the contraceptive pill. I was expecting for the pharmaceutical…
Yea, they didn't show the resolution of that case either. But ML got the implicating files by cunningly double crossing the main villain, so he was sure he'd win that case.
Very nice law drama overall, I enjoyed it a lot. I like that the plot stayed tight and coherent throughout the entire series with no dumbassery, fillers, or circus in the court room. The killer's identity reveal also comes naturally, without contrived attempts to prolong it being kept hidden (like in ongoing headache inducing Blind, for example). If you watched a certain Hollywood movie with a similar plot, or simply figured it out early from a rather limited range of presented characters then good for you, take a cookie.
The highlight of the drama is not the "whodunit" mystery in itself, but the story behind it and FL's character development, which progresses considerably after she starts to get involved with ML and seemingly unrelated cases he one way or the other drops on her. I thoroughly enjoyed their characters interactions, they had great chemistry.
I'd say my only complaint would be that the initially calm and intelligent main villain made a big mistake down the line by trying to cover up another character's crimes (which would have been revealed anyway). And while trying to consequently cover up that mistake he started to get increasingly paranoid and made even more mistakes, which in the end led him to a rather dumb cliche end. It was totally avoidable, with minimal damage to himself, if only he stayed put and didn't do anything unnecessary. But other than that it was quite an enjoyable watch.
Whose storylines did you feel were left unfinished? And what exactly didn't make sense?
That's fine, this drama has a very tight plot due to being only 12 episodes. So it's understandable to feel a bit dissatisfied that some things weren't given enough screen time.
Whose storylines did you feel were left unfinished? And what exactly didn't make sense?
My thoughts exactly. The only storyline that was left unexplained was what exactly happened that night when FL got dead drunk and blacked out, only to wake up in ML's house. Looked like an eventful night 🤣.
It's open to interpretation, but I got the vibes that they will. I think that funny grandma will wear them down eventually 🤣. It's not a romance drama, but there was certainly something there, leads chemistry was great.
Just watched ep 11, the ending of the episode was awesome 🔥
Episode 11 was great, FL blew the whole case wide open through her investigation. But ML is a big manipulator, he chose her on purpose. He studied her well and knew she won't just throw him to the death row without investigating. And in classical kdrama fashion where everyone is connected to everyone of course she was the best person to figure it out, because she knew all the people involved.
Whose storylines did you feel were left unfinished? And what exactly didn't make sense?
1. After ML surrendered himself to the police and media started investigations into the victims to figure out his motive, their crimes started to come into light. That police chief was revealed to be a sexual predator through other reports. If we add up that woman's case and a case from 30 years ago he'll get sentenced into oblivion 100% after he recovers. They didn't focus on him anymore probably because there was no time to cover everything, last episode was already an hour and twenty minutes long.
2. He saw how his father was killed when his was a child, down to the burnt toe. Not all victims violent deaths were covered by Gido, so the details were known to the public. He just connected the dots that it was the same MO when he realized his brother was involved to get revenge. After all, his brother was tortured the same way.
3. First of all, it was very clearly shown and even stated by Gido himself that ML surrendered himself to throw a giant wrench into Gido's election campaign. Gido first got mad that it spoiled his plan with the scape goat for his father's murder. It meant that the case will be reopened, his father's past will be investigated and he himself may be found out as the instigator of the scape goat's murder. Then when Gido saw that people were mulling over this on TV news he said that ML was not disclosing his motives on purpose to pique public's interest. And indeed, it went viral, lots of rumors and reports about victims crimes started to appear on their own, because everyone got interested what his motives may be and started to investigate. Also, FL father's blog contents were spread around this time (probably Gido's wife doing), so it helped. And when rumors about Gido's father started to appear as well his approval ratings started to go down. I'd say very cunning from ML's side. And later ML started spilling his beans to the police woman and confirmed that he stayed silent on purpose so that the truth about the bad guys would be revealed. He was investigating the bad guys to finally get them prosecuted, but Chisik beat him to it by killing them.
Don't get me wrong... But after hearing ML's backstory, FL became soooo childish!! And I think she already fell…
Why is it childish for a person to have empathy and feel compassion towards another person who went through some bad things? I think it's totally normal and you're jumping the gun here. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against it, but you gotta be realistic here - only 3 episodes left, most of which will most likely cover ML backstory's resolution.
I dunno, Lee Chung Ah is here only for 2.5 episodes. The leads though have hilarious chemistry on their own, but…
I'm not sure, their relationship may simply be from enemies to friends. And who wouldn't feel bad and try to be compassionate to ML after hearing his sad backstory? I don't think there will be any romance between the leads mainly because there's no time for it. If the writers wanted to insert it they shouldn't have gone into that long winded backstory so much. I think all of the romance went there.
I want to ask, is this drama worth watching if I only look for the chemistry between Namkoong Min and Lee Chung…
I dunno, Lee Chung Ah is here only for 2.5 episodes. The leads though have hilarious chemistry on their own, but it’s a different kind. And FL actress already worked with ML actor in The Veil drama.
