I've lost track of what is in each episode, but I have this overall impression that episodes 3-4 were much funnier than 1-2. Even though TVING put extensive clips on youtube before ep. 3-4 aired, there were still a ton of other funny moments in them. If this continues, I will have toned abs by the end of this show - I'm laughing so much.
So so fun...loving it. Am watching it on channel tvN.. oh those sour berries in that ever so expensive dessert…
Those sour berries are red currant. It's sour, but not like they make it look. It's actually a pleasant addition to cake. Of course, you're not supposed to eat the whole cluster in one go like Kyuhyun did. Trust this wacky trio to take a perfectly average dessert and make it into one of the funniest sequences in variety shows.
I would have played the banker in the desert...I would have been like "so we can't leave until we throw a double…
Yeah, but that part was clearly scripted. You can practically see Seung Gi chomping at the bit to dig those dice himself so they can get going, but he had to wait. Until he lost his patience and did it anyway. :-) For all we know, the SVT kids tried your strategy but it was edited out b/c it's not what the production wanted. The writers haven't fully thought it through. Even the Banker isn't happy in B Land!
This show is funnier than I expected. I was going to watch it anyway, b/c I've never been to Dubai, so I wanted to see the sights. And b/c it's a Seung Gi show, so I'd check it out just for that. But man, it's genuinely hilarious. The personalities are so very different!
I felt sorry for the SVT kids, who tried so hard to save their money that they even split a burger - but in the end they lost most of it anyway. The veterans, on the other hand, knew they had to spend it all as fast as they got it. The show will just have to find a way to give them more funds. That's the risk of playing with real money! I wonder if the 'prank Seung Gi' mission was planned ahead, or they came up with it as a result of the veterans spending all their money so quickly!
Episode 15 end was sooooo unrealistic. Two snipers across the atreet and the could only shoot him in the leg after…
Yeah, the last scene in ep. 15 was an insult to the viewers' intelligence. It's beyond me why they choreographed it that way. It would have been so easy to have Uncle Evil hold the knife at JH's throat the whole time, then maybe wave it around b/c of something Yuri says, and at that point have JH attack him, or the snipers shoot him, or both. Also, I don't see why that scene had to be so drawn out. All that useless talk between Uncle Evil and Yuri - I assumed it would matter in ep. 16, but it didn't. Not one iota. So... what was the point of doing it like that?
Well, the actor playing the ML disagrees with you. In interviews, he described JungHo as having ENTJ personality…
LSG is an ENTJ himself, and he identified with the character very strongly. Why do you say he didn't like being around people? He clearly enjoys the Eunha people, he's the one who comes up with the idea of the concert across floors, he's the one who tries to kiss a man to prove the point about sexual harassment etc. That's not the behavior of an introvert. He's not shy at all, he just doesn't easily empathize with other people - which is very ENTJ. But yes, I agree that an ENTJ would also have clear goals and lead not just the people around him (as he does), but also the relationship with the FL. Hence, the criticism the script is receiving. I think the idea was that the FL is the ML's social conscience, and that's why he defers to her. But it was not well executed. With lesser actors, this drama would have been a complete failure. LSG and LSY saved it, but I'm still upset they didn't get a better script.
Just completed and overall - I would say this is a good rom-com drama. I mostly enjoyed both the lead characters…
Well, the actor playing the ML disagrees with you. In interviews, he described JungHo as having ENTJ personality type. The "E" in there stands for Extrovert. And I have to agree with him. Also, the criticism I've seen about the ML is that he has no goals of his own, which is different from not being domineering.
It's almost like he was considerate of her feelings! Oh no!
Being considerate of one's feelings goes both ways. But this drama is completely one-sided. Typical of romance novels, but kdramas should strive to do better. I'm a woman, but I was annoyed by how the FL was written. Frankly I agreed with the ML's point of view about 90% of the time.
Cute drama. A light watch if you are recovering from a 'heavy' drama. I must have missed all of the scenes that…
There were no such scenes in the movie. I assume it's in the web novel and no one bothered to correct it on mdl. At least they removed the "libertine landlord" from the description, which I'm pretty sure wasn't even based on the book, as that would make JungHo a completely different character. But the news articles still copy-pasted with no thought whatsoever. Honestly, does no one know what "libertine" means? It's the exact opposite of JungHo's character!
oh man... ep 15 was so bad... it's just embarrassing ._. I genuinely liked this drama in the beginning, but the…
I agree with you on ep. 15. Sadly, the final scene was so ridiculous, it ruined the entire series. And what makes me really mad is that it was very easy to make it believable. There are dozens of police movies where this kind of situation is depicted well. Just pick one and copy it!
She's too rude, she should understand his worries, she might be killed, he can't just encourage her without fearing…
In Hwayugi LSY actually portrays two very different characters, and both are impressive in their own way. As for LSG, he does an incredible balancing act of portraying a bad guy who is nevertheless utterly charming. Of course, his character is redeemed in the end, but he fights his redemption every step of the way. You never stop laughing and rooting for him. OK, I won't say anymore, in case you want to watch it.
She's too rude, she should understand his worries, she might be killed, he can't just encourage her without fearing…
Yes, they acted before in A Korean Odyssey, aka Hwayugi. But LSY was a supporting character, not the FL. Still, they had a bunch of hilarious scenes together. When I finished that drama, I reflected on why I liked it despite its uneven script, and my conclusion was that it was largely due to the acting of the ML and that funky zombie girl - LSG and LSY, respectively, though I didn't know who they were at the time. :-)

I kinda agree with you, though not entirely. She does let him walk her home, and accepts the company of her part-timer whenever JungHo is not around. Also, she makes a good point that she can't live like that for years, since no one knows how long the situation with Uncle Evil will last (well, the viewers know it will be solved by episode 16, but she doesn't hehe).
Otoh, she's done nothing to deserve JungHo's trust. I hate this kind of writing that *claims* the heroine is strong, but what it actually *shows* is a reckless and rude woman who hides behind the man whenever s**t hits the fan. The only reason I can stomach this kind of writing is because of LSG and LSY, who - against all odds - manage to make it funny enough, and charming enough. I've loved these two actors since Hwayugi, where they also had some pretty bad lines, but they somehow made all their scenes sparkle.
The morning after, while JungHo is smiling in bed, looking like the cat who ate the canary, YuRi is hard at work writing a contract that *obligates* each party to do their best to sexually satisfy the other. JungHo-ya, just how bad of a lover were you?! :-)
