The more obvious reason, which is explicitly stated, is that he was afraid she'll hate him for who his family…
There are several episodes of Master In The House where pretty basic math questions come up, and he's always stumped by them. The episode that comes to mind right now is the one with Lee Se Dol, but there are quite a few more. Yes, he's great in many fields, but I'm sorry to say, math ain't one of them. :-)

Tbh, I was surprised by his choice of a romcom, and I thought it was a step backwards in his acting career. After he established himself as a serious actor with Vagabond and Mouse, I expected him to build up on that. And he had an offer for another crime drama, but he went with the romcom instead. Who knows what goes into these choices? I hope it works out great for him, though. I'm certainly enjoying it! :-)

What even is the story???
It's the romcom story: ML and FL meet, fall in love, go through some conflicts and/or misunderstandings, then live happily ever after.

It's not the story that matters, it's the chemistry of the leads, and how fun or original their scenes are. If you want a story, it's better to look for a thriller or crime drama.

It's not the looks LSG lacks, it's the math skills. JeongHo is great at math, while LSG runs in the opposite direction when he hears the word. :-)

If I was a guy, I'd run away from such a girl as fast as my legs could carry me (and if I was a guy as athletic…
For me, it's a shortcoming. It means I can't eat well unless I spend money on restaurants, or my husband cooks. Otherwise, it's unhealthy snacks and sandwiches for us, or the really mediocre dishes I can put together. But I'm way ahead of YuRi - I, at least, know how to boil rice! :-)

Hey, cool the feminist jets, will ye? I was just listing all her shortcomings, which are legion. And fyi, I'm a feminist who can't cook, either. I'm not proud of it, but there it is. :-)

I agree but unfortunately, the holding back of information is one of the tropes of K dramas however it's really…
You might be interested to know that the ML in this drama is actually a famous singer in SK. I love his music more than his movies. If you want to check it out, here's 2 links:

I'm American, too. But I've fallen in love with Korean culture, so I watch some variety shows that are subbed in English. I learned quite a bit about their culture from these shows, plus the kdramas, wikipedia, news outlets, social media and what have you. I hope to visit SK soon and see if it lives up to my expectations. :-)

I think that his father is innocent. But who knows? They had some kind of evidence... I can't wait for next episodes!
I don't think he's innocent, but I don't think he's corrupt, either. I think he did it to protect his wife and/or son from some kind of threat made by Dohan.

Why would she know he's related to the owner of a company, if he never mentioned it? HOW would she know? He's always been secretive - as mentioned in ep1 - and she doesn't even know what kind of relationship he has with his parents, let alone distant relatives.

As for last names, that really made me smile. First of all, he has his father's last name, Kim, but it's his mother who is the daughter of Dohan's owner. Second of all, Dohan is the name of the corporation, not the owner. (The owner, I think, is a Lee). And finally and most importantly, do you have any idea how many Lee's and Kim's are in South Korea? They only have a dozen or so of possible last names, and these two are among the most popular. My guess is there are a few million of each. When it comes to South Korea, never assume two people are related just b/c they share a last name. Btw, the two leads of this show are both Lee in real life, and they are both Kim in the show. But there's no family relationship between them in either reality.

Is it just me, or was there a nod to Korean Odyssey in episode 8? When YuRi is high and falls over that sand heap, her face stays vacant like her zombie character. I burst out laughing. Maybe I liked that character too much. :-)

Btw, you can count LSG among the rank of those frustrated with the ML's behavior. :-) He gave a reaction interview on the first episode, and during the college breakup scene he commented that JungHo was very rude to break up with no explanation, and a man should never ever do that in real life, But, he added, if JungHo had explained himself, the drama would be over at that point. :-)

I first saw that actress in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, where she is a regular character. She completely stole the show. Imo, she's one of the best actresses in the world, at the level of Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep. I wish she was better known outside Korea.

Is it bad that I like the FL less because of how she reacted to Kim Jung Ho. He was a coward but he is in so much…
I think it's more a case of her being in shock. She needs time to process the truth. Until then, she's taking it out on the easiest target, JungHo. She was stressed to begin with, b/c of his behavior, and now she's lashing out. But she's very fair, so they'll patch up in less than one episode. The Law Cafe instagram account promised that the hot couch scene will be shown in episode 9.

If I was a guy, I'd run away from such a girl as fast as my legs could carry me (and if I was a guy as athletic…
I think she 'hates' him (she doesn't, she's just angry and in shock) more b/c he lied to her for so long, rather than for who his family is. It's the lies that destroy a relationship, even the innocent lies for someone's own good. Men never get that. To be fair, most women don't, either.

As for the law cafe doing well... sure, it's always full, but people don't seem to buy much, and the barista gives away free stuff. JungHo thinks it's losing money, and when it comes to business, I'll take his word for it.

Good luck with your elementary school! I hope you do it one day!

Am I the only one pissed at Kim Yuri for eating the old woman's rice cake when it wasn't offered to her? That's…
I was surprised by YuRi's rudeness, too. And surprised JungHo didn't call her on it. But the old woman still needs to apologize, since her conduct was illegal and she hesitated to come clean, even when YuRi needed professional help.

After a rough start this drama is getting better. However, I still don't like 4th wall breaking, ginormous time…
Depends on how you choose to think about it. I consider it primarily a comedy, so all the things you dislike are just funny to me. And I adore the villain. I'm tired of Voldemorts. Why not have an unhinged clown instead? He's actually quite creepy in his craziness.

Jungho was amazing in episode 7. The way he handled the case along with yuri was amazing. The stupidity of mayor…
Was she trying to push him back, or was she struggling to bring her hands up so she could put them around his neck? I kept rewatching frame by frame, but the kiss is stitched together from a few different takes, so it's not clear. It does kinda look like she's pushing him back, but that makes no sense, given how she repeatedly propositioned him. Maybe the PD wanted her to look startled, but she overdid it. Or maybe she's struggling to adjust to this new JungHo, rather than struggling against the kiss.

Okay, I love love love the Female lead soooo much!! Such a ideal person even in my eyes. If I were a guy, I would…
If I was a guy, I'd run away from such a girl as fast as my legs could carry me (and if I was a guy as athletic as JungHo, my legs could carry me very fast, indeed). YuRi is a slob, she can't cook, she flies off the handle at the slightest provocation, she fights at the top of her lungs, she doesn't care about earning money, and whatever money she does earn, she throws away on garish clothes and cockamamie business ideas. But if you say it'd be fun to spend your life cooking and cleaning for her, while working hard to pay for her expensive whims, and also fighting thugs with regularity in order to save her ass, then sure, I believe you. :-)

I think LSG had a nearly impossible task to make us believe in JungHo's feelings. He somehow succeeded, though I still roll my eyes at some of this couple's scenes. Then I tell myself, 'it's just comedy.' :-)
