is it just me or has this been reminding anyone of "everything everywhere all at once" with the use of sci-fi/supernatural elements to tell a story about generational trauma
now that I re-read it I understood what you mean hahahaha I'm just so used to seeing negative comments abt them on this app lol, glad ur watching the entire eps now because the supernatural element in this show ties in with the emotional aspects as well so they go hand in hand!
I just finished EP02 and this is my initial review from the show.I'm a big fan of supernatural powers. I think…
kind of the point of the show is that all the characters are stuck in a generational trauma cycle of bad parenting because of obsession with the powers and new additions to the family kind of shake the dynamic up and changes start to take place
bro i feel so bad for bok ina like when she had a perfect family when she was so small her own dad was so hung…
i feel terrible for her but i do feel bad for her dad as well, it's just a terrible situation all around. cause after his mental health deteriorated he was unwillingly trapped repeatedly returning to the memory of her birth and his colleague dying for about 7 years, so it was like he didn't exist in the world for all that time and couldn't have formed a normal relationship with her or figured out how to treat children even though he loved ina very much, and when he finally worked up the strength to try to break that cycle he came back to the car crash and it sent him into an even deeper spiral to where he was basically unable to function as a person, so after 13 years of having health too poor to be a proper parent and too poor to notice that she was being ignored and needed him, now that he knows she does need him he's awkwardly trying to learn how to be what he should've had 13 years to practice being 😭 it's all so sad i just hope she doesn't lose him right after they finally managed to get over their communication barrier
He needed to look for an specific scene in a movie to find the color of a cardigan. That is like 30 + minutes…
it's true they couldn't guarantee other cars not being there, but i mean the likelihood of people heading to the beach on a rainy weekday (i think it was a weekday) is pretty low idk
personal opinion, i don't think dahae's mom ever really planned on killing her, because in recent episodes she's seen having other people to do the dirty work dahae doesn't want to do, so if she really wanted her dead she wouldn't use the softie uncle to finish her off when he obviously isn't capable of doing so. hence why she wasn't surprised to find out she was alive and almost looked like she was waiting for it, she just wants to hold on to her in any way she can
8.5 is a generous review for this to be frank.. I only get to enjoy the kids part of this drama. Only the daughters…
it's a really interesting well shot and well acted story delving into gray morals and psychology and less conventional relationships, if the full scope of it isn't enjoyable for you this just isn't the show for you or you're watching it at the wrong time maybe, because as someone who's seen hundreds of dramas this is objectively a stand-out
i also like the other poorly written timetravel show but spill !! why is the rating so low it's so well done
yeah it was def a missed opportunity with the writing, I enjoyed it because like you said the cast did well and for me it was pretty entertaining.
absolutely agree on everything for atypical family, it's so well done on all points but sooo underrated by the kdrama watcher community it makes me sad highkey
I don't think Gwi-ju will die because once he knows she's safe he can just disappear at will, i don't think he would needlessly stay and let a building fall on him
that is the problem with society-one of the many people who want to take shortcuts and have it easy.. having everything…
how far into the show are you? because she has substantial debt left from her drunken father that she can't pay off working a normal job and she's been trapped in an unfavorable contract since she was a teenager, it's not because she wants to take a shortcut it's because she's in an awful situation and she doesn't have anyone to back her up
absolutely agree on everything for atypical family, it's so well done on all points but sooo underrated by the kdrama watcher community it makes me sad highkey
