tbh, the audience is even more misogynist than the industry itself and it makes sense. Despite all the unfairness and sexism, women are still reigning and big female stars are more popular and make more noise than the big male ones, that's why they KNOW if women are given as much of a time to shine as men and get treated fairly, they're just gonna TAKE OVER compeletly and that's a threat to their geges. I'm glad that LYT didn't take this and the whole drama surrounding the project can be a really good source of analysis and discussion over the gender discrimination in the industry. 3/3
(This is gonna be a long and outrageous comment so I'll split it into 3 parts lol)Cdrama streaming platforms have…
Just the fact that they were making up rumours about her trying to "buy" more screentime tells you how messed up things are...women have to "buy" it while men just get it with some discussion with the production team or not even that, they're already favored bc they're men and directors, writers and etc are also men most of the times....they switch the center of female centric stories to men, reduce FL's screentime, her importance, her character's complexity and then make the ML a perfect saint who is always sacrificing for the 'ungrateful' woman to force an image they want onto the actor and feed it to the audience...2/3
(This is gonna be a long and outrageous comment so I'll split it into 3 parts lol) Cdrama streaming platforms have been joining hands with a good bunch of male actors' pr teams to ruin female centric novels and turn them compeletly into male centric the last couple of years and nobody bat an eyelash (they actually praise them for how smart of a marketing strategy they're using to make gege a star instead of blaming them for stealing women's job opportunities who are already not given even half as much attention on media as men), but people just HEARD rumours of lyt wanting a female centric drama and to have the spotlight and went MAD mad...laughing and crying at the non ending sexist hypocrisy in the industry. 1/3
you're litterally skinny shaming thinking you're being a progressive critical thinker 😠talking about ppl's bodies like that is actually gross and disgusting, it's not "disencourging harsh diets that make you look weak". And btw I've seen you make comments on how you're "worried" about certain actor not being healthy enough bc his face looked chubbier than before on another drama page too, you're in no place to talk about ppl's bodies like this and constantly assume who's healthy and who's not...you think you're being body positive but this behavior is just weird and ugly, stop it.
I just simply saw xu lu on a melon acc and got worried because I really like her and this looks awful. I bow and fall on my knees if the acc was wrong and made a typo your highness. I beg you to forgive me for my grave sins 🤒
god the customs are so colorfully cute also super looking forward to the main cp and ysx X wp 😠I wasn't sure about this drama before but the wrap up pics just look too adorable, already looks like the cast have great chemistry
I have not seen a single xuan lu one it was litterally xu lu lmfao???? but if it's not her then good for her, will be praying for any woman in here though
does it hurt anybody's pride to write a gaming drama that has the female character being better at gaming and her teaching the ml??? It's always the ml being a rude narcissistic piece of sh!t who always makes fun of fl and treats her awfully for not being a good gamer in the process of "teaching" her...it wasn't that serious at first but the obsession with this dynamic is starting to get weird
I usually don't care about dramas that don't have a main female character (looking at men on screen more than 15 minutes has me dozing off lol) but actually really looking forward to this one...i don't exactly know why it just grabbed my attention
Dropping this for people who might want to know, if you've ever watched the kdramas "One spring night", "something in the rain" or other shows from the same writer, this show has a very similar vibe to it, just a bit more comedy than angst but the slow burn, realism, the social commentary and even the production is very close. If you liked those you will highly probably like this one, if you didn't then you might not like it. (I think OSN was much better than SIR and find SAHPH closer to OSN though)
It REALLY depends on your taste though...like I genuinely love this genre of dramas if they're well made and find…
for instance I really like how the FL is strong and good in her job, but not the tropy shallow "girlboss" strong. She's imperfect and has her own struggles and does aslo not treat people around her like sh!t lol. And the male lead is also not just the innocent puppy younger guy who steals jiejie' heart, he's actually a super introverted nerd who has very adorably strange ideas on the philosophy of life and existence, does respect women and has a little bit of a shady mysterious background ^_^ the main leads are pretty unique
