I get why you don't like the FL character but your comments about her are starting to get too much...you hate her for existing and breathing...the costum design in the show is pretty consistent. Male costumes are kinda boring
(not that they are supposed to be fancy, i know they're from a humble background. I just think there's not enough effort put into male costumes as women's. Very generic design) and not really great in my opinion but female garments from the colors to the structure reflect the characters personalities. WR wears bright colors cause that's her personality (idrc that much about her as a character tbh but absolutely LOVE her wardrobe. specially those two lil birds she usually has near her collar and all the cute puffy lace and fur in her customs. it fits her childish nature so well). And about makeup, pretty much every woman in the show is wearing...the same amount of it??? I was watching avenuex and she said the director is litteraly famous for making all female characters look really beautiful. I feel like you're being too biased there...Like okay she's not a really good character but she doesn't deserve this...

That one scene where WR went to see XY in the brothel for the first time had XY legit flirting with WR..I WAS SHIPPING THE GIRLIES LOL

It might be because i have never read the original text to begin with but aside from the messy, disrespectful and awful way the female characters are portrayed in here (yeah...the "I use r*pe to turn my female character into a monster and give people no time to sympathize with her" keeps getting WORSE and gets me even more mad as it goes on lol) i find the male characters' arcs and the way they're changing quite interesting. Maybe just me but whatever. I think it's cool.

Also, why do wuxia dramas have a thing for disabled villains and antagonists??? So weird...

I enjoy watching this show to some extent but the way the female characters are treated in it PISSES ME TF OFF...it's totally obvious the script is written by a middle aged man when the supposedly "main" female character has NO arc, NO struggle of her own, NO life of her own and plays NO part in the story rather than being a man's love interest and "helping" (not even helping tbh, women are not qualified enough to actually do shit in the world of martial arts in male wuxia writers eyes), "supporting" him (/them) and "cheering" him up when he's sad and down. And OH, let's talk about the SFL. The WORST way women are portrayed in media by men is when they write stories about a woman who gets r*ped and turns into an outrageous "monster", just for the sake of the PLOT (Shes probably gonna be the "downfall" of SMZ i just fcking KNOW and it feels offensive and disgusting...lol) without any parts of the storyline giving the audience a prespective of what hell of a trauma and mental struggle that woman is actually going through because of that experience to make us sympathize with her. Women are NEVER worth of sympathy in media while men can do any kind of hideous crime and be the most awful person to ever exist but throw a tragic backstory in there and fangirls will simp over him and excuse that.
I am mad because it happens on regular freaking basis. The female lead in dramas can litterally be a traffic actress and the ml's pr team can still change the script so much to the point that would make them have all the spotlight and the female characters look like extras. Women are MISTREATED in cdrama business and the mostly female fanbase is sadly always taking out their internalized misogyny anger on female characters and actresses who are written badly rather than seeing the truth that they are MISTREATED by the industry...this is the THIRD drama i watch this year where the female characters are done dirty like that...IN A ROW
