Jieli has been betrayed and backstabbed by so many ppl bc she had no parents and has never been in a good social status, so she has always been trying to not attach herself to anyone and only care about herself to not get hurt again and survive. She actually DOES care about Orchid a lot and has showed it countless number of times since she saved her but she just doesn't want to admit to it, it kind of hurts her pride and goes against her moral principle of not getting close to people, that's why she constantly denies being friends with her. A very random comment but I wanna talk about how freaking pretty Esther looks in this show because I can't stop staring at her. Her makeup and hairstyle flatters her so much, from the peach shadow and whole eye makeup to her pink lipstick. The whole style chosen for her compliments her appearance and character so well. (Imma watch I've fallen for you after this I'm in love with her) ML looks really good too. thank god cause I'm TIRED of xianxia stylists giving beautiful people ugly wigs and makeup that makes them look dead in the eyes, it's a freaking talent to make attractive celebrities look bad lol.
