I would generally not really recommend it lol but if you want to watch it really bad, you can try the first couple of episodes! It actually starts off as a pretty decent slice of life romance but the melodrama becomes intolerable later💀I personally kept watching cause I found the chemistry between shj and ysj insanely electric from the very first episode but its not really a good show...it's still better than the rest of this scriptwriter's works though lol

But overall I surprisingly really adore this drama. It's not eventful or fast paced or even necessarily exciting, but it really did click for me emotionally 😭 It's not even a sad show but I keep crying whenever the female characters have emotional talk and I genuinely think they're all really well written! It's not a masterpiece but an example of how an actually feminist family drama could be done in the simplest way. Instead of filling the story with bitter jealousy and petty cat fight between the fem chars and numerous attempts at making the side woman chars look dumb and shallow to lift the FL up, it actually values all the women in the family and tries to flash out their humanity beneath their surface level falws and builds complex and beautiful relationships between them. I always love well-told women's stories so I really enjoy this :)

the way hu yitian has maintained the exact same face with no further movement in any feature on his face than 2 nanometers over the course of his career is impressive to me 👏🏻

shaoyao is 100% autistic coded and I'm kind of surprised nobody talks about it. I don't think it's just a coincidence that her very specific body language (I just don't think it has to do with her being simply just shy and introverted) is coupled with the amazing genuis at such a young age and there's also a whole subplot of no one around her understanding her condition and treating it like mental illness or a disease to be cured which frustraes her a lot. I don't think I'm overthinking on that part!

I never said it shouldn't have had a distinguished look from saguks...it's just that the execution of the idea is horrible lol

Like they spent 40 flipping million won on this show and they couldn't even hire a proper costume designer 💀 it would've been more watchable if they just went straight up joseon dynasty instead of whatever this is lol

I don't even stan him or anything but he's undeniably got the most insane face card in the entire industry rn. Like everytime his editorials and photoshoots show up on my feed I litterally gasp...

It's insulting and disrespectful to the entire existence of women...if they're so desperate for bagging from casting a big actor in a big costume drama, they can just pick a an originally male centric ip???
