and nokdu flower had absolutely AMAZING side characters as well. It's been 5 years and I'm still devastated and traumatized (in a tragically good way) by the story of yoon siyoon's char in that show 😭 just really excellent and touching character and story writing in general

this scriptwriter has the potential to become the true queen of nerdy werid female protagonists

will we ever be able to watch an esther drama in peace and enjoy her content without the minions repeating the exact same "her voice is blah blah her daddy is rich blah blah" shit in our ear again and again ? (hint: the answer is NO.)

It just true that yall talk abt esther making it in the industry bc of her rich parents but then go and watch and hype up actors who can't move their face and recite their lines properly and agents wouldn't even give them a chance if not for their nice looking faces...if Esther's family bg is a privilege, then there are SO many other actors out there who are also just there bc of pretty privilege (again, I'm saying "pretty" but I'm talking about men too) that don't even put half the effort esther puts into actually improving herself lol

what makes this even more ironic is that this show is litterally written by a dude and is altered (compared to the og novel) in a way to make the ml stand out more in the drama adaptation 😭 like is the female audience this is targeted towards in the room with us???
If anything, the most culturally impactful, well loved and critically acclaimed kdramas from the last couple of years have all been telling stories created by and about women...

I hate how her company is trying so hard to fit her into a stereotype that made her popular from PYHOMS with crappy wannabe fluffy contemporary romcoms, but casting her in big fantasy historical dramas where she gets to be an accessory to a mighty male lead is the worst of the worst...I hope she leaves this shitty label asap cause I just know she can and does want to do way more than that 😭

kdrama's aren't 1:15 long per episode though...that's only a thing for SOME bougie shows' first and occasionally last episode and FOE was not one of them!!

actually I'm way more intrigued about fl's journey and her jewelry business than romance lol...ONE show that actually covers a unique topic among all the idol dramas that are all war reincarnation family harem revenge and ppl are ALREADY snapping strings from the potential lack of a kissing scene 💀

I just don't like how youku and tencent always hype some dramas up as s+ and they end up looking visually average idk
