The tragedy is meant to convey a massage and not just clout and buzz...overall I don't think any romance historical drama will ever have the courage to depict how fucked up a romantic relationship with such a huge power imbalance between partners will end up being like TRS lol...this drama has soooo much to say about the mess that Confucianism brought for women and working class in general in Joseon dynasty yet so many ppl just watch and intepret it as an average and already-told-a-hundred-times angsty kingXservant romance and go "lmaooo this isn't anything special at awlll 🤓"

I actually really loved this costume designer's work in Ingenious one. Based on what I see here, some garments bl is wearing have what I liked about the costumes in TIO. The fabrics she picks have a visible texture on camera which is YUM! And the pieces are minimalistic but she always adds extremely delicate and unique hand embroidery to them and the ones I see here look absolutely stunning imo

He has ideas but he can't execute them at all...that's why the first couple of episodes from the dramas/first couple of minutes from his movies are really intriguing to watch and everything after that falls into irredeemable pits of hell lol...his strength is character and he should focus on that instead of trying to make his stories plot heavy and failing all the time

If you're talking abt ren min here I hope you have information in hand that she was a pretty much well received and critically acclaimed actress who was praised by critics and liked even by hating a$s centz before tlp. If you have basic comprehension skills you would know when an actually capable actress underperforms, it means something was wrong with the writing and directing. Hope that helped ❤️

_fl is a very realistic char. She used to be a GS but she just switched to PS bc she thought it was too much work and little money. She's a very no bs person and kind of morally gray sometimes.
_ I don't even like LMH but the char he played here is ICONIC. Typical cold and arrogant dude but also a reluctant hero?? He isn't the usual heroic and extremely patriotic general but just a guy too tired of a shtty life who wants freedom. A VERY morally gray and interesting character also and this kind of chars were not even a thing back in the day.

ik people disliked this when it came out but even with the 2 dollars and dream production and horrible editing, this is genuinely STILL one of the best written shows from the 2012 time travel era of kdramas and one of my overall fave historical dramas...Litterally every character, from the fl and ml, to the very extras and chars with very little screentime, are actually so interesting and complex and the romance, story, relationships and everything is just sooooo good. Like in terms of script writing this was really 10 years ahead of it's time!! This one aged like fine wine to me and I don't even like old kdramas that much lol

linmon pictures dramas are always high quality (under the skin, journey to love, dream of splendor etc)

_"the original book was garbage and the fmc was annoying" : 1: A bunch of very sane people decided to invest on said 'garbage' novel anyway which means this wouldn't exist if Cang Yue didn't write that book, so if you like this show or your gege or whoever, have at least SOME respect for the original author. This show is totally benefiting from HER work, like it or not.
2: fyi, the original book was about the journey of a girl to womanhood. What made it beautiful was the fl's GROWTH through time, her story was NOT just about romance but also self discovery and maturing. This drama litterally said fvck all of that and made it into 40 episodes of trying to shove how righteous and kind and sexy and selfless the MMC was into your face. And to make everything worse, they treated the one female lead they had horribly and it's very inhuman of you people to talk about RM as if she's at fault for the bad writing and bad decisions from the production team lol

Just scrolled through the comments and was reminded once again of why I stop reading comments on mdl when the show airs cause this website is almost always 80% hating on actresses and female characters and 20% actual critique of production and writing quality lol...I will never forgive cnetz and inl fans for doing this to Ren min and that coward of a pr team who stood and watched the woman they willingly signed a contract with go through all of this crap...
