I just finished this and I'm glad I watched it. This is korean drama as its best. Great actors, original script, good OST... all elements of a great production. I found it a bit boring and slow going at the beginning but as soon as you start getting close to the main characters this changes, as you keep wanting to see how are they doing in their new environment. For me kind of the best and worst of the series centres on the character of Loony. I did not like it the way a gay man is portrayed. Drugs do not make you sound like a 3 year old on steroids, he looked absolutely ridiculous. I didn't mind the subtlety when trying to portray his relationship with his best friend. But it annoyed me that of course, the gay character, as per the established stereotypes, had t be the one to provide comic relief to otherwise very heavy scenes. Also super disappointed on his end. It was unnecessary but of course, as he was the gay character, it would be te one with the worst ending. I was really shocked and did not like this one at all, after all the months fighting the drugs, to fall at the first hurdle was just unnecessary. Also that's entrapment and should be illegal to do. It would have not cost the writers anything, to create a good ending for him with the surprise of his mum waiting for him and a boyfriend that's willing to stay with him for the long run. Very, very disappointing. Another thing that would have been nice to see at the end is that on the day of the return to the arena after 2 years, it should have been an scene or two showing where everybody was at that point. Having said all these, I still would recommend to watch this drama. I enjoyed this way more than the negative points listed above
Love it, love it, love it...! An absolute masterpiece of light entertainment. Funny, sad, intriguing, sweet ... all of it and more with an absolute brilliant plot.. who doesn't like the good guy to be a widow during the day, and the korean version of "El Zorro" by night?. This is one of the best series I've seen so far. It's not a dark, gritty drama with a terribly convoluted plot, like say Mouse, but even then, this is still an extremely well made series, with a great direction and acting. All the actors are amazing providing just the right amount of comedy and drama at the right time and without having to resort to histrionics. The main leads are brilliant with great chemistry... he's just to die for (those lips ffs!) and she's sassy and funny and loyal to her friends. The rest of the cast is also very, very good. Having said that, I have few tiny negative-ish comments...still don't get why the baddy was not killed earlier...also, the sidekick of the FL was waaaay too young for her role. It really reeked of paedophilia that plot btw her and the Secretary. The age gap was just too great to be comfortable watching . Mind you, not saying she was a bad actress, all the opposite. As the long suffering companion of the FL she was amazing, a great talent and I hope to see her more in the future. And lastly, the last chapter was a bit of a let down tbh... dunno, I expected more gore and bloodshed ...maybe?. Still, the ending was super sweet and left me sad for having finished watching it. Defo will watch again but now I need to look for another fav to replace this one, sigh!
i wouldn’t even call it romance. Go Eun obviously likes Do Ki in S1 but he’s very reserved even into S2. there…
Totally agree... I feel kinda sorry for her but super funny to watch lol. Personally I think that this is the only "romance" this series need. Hopefully it will have no fluffy, lovey-dovey stuff in S3 either!
sorry but she could have armed herself with something in the office to protect herself and when he had his hands…
... and the lift scene? those lifts always have cameras and if someone push anyone like that is run to report to HR and secure the video, more so when my boyfriend is the heir of the owner of that company. No chance that video will get "lost"! Nick picking I know, they do that just for the sake of more drama, I know, still it could have been a bit more consistent with reality. Having said that, I'm liking this drama and so looking forward to next eps, nick picking and all 🤣
I hope it flops. Removing the bl element sounds homophobic. The original material is bl, just follow it. At least…
To be honest I don't recall the original being BL and I should know as I believe if I have not watched every single BL film/series there is out there, I must be close to...straight as an arrow if I remember correctly... maybe got confused with another one???
Up to ep 5 and this is super entertaining. Korean production at its best... great acting, script, scenery, attention to detail... all in all a very good job indeed. Wonder why it has not got more publicity 'cos at times is super funny! Anyhooo.... one to watch for sure.
I did find it entertaining... not best drama out there but very watchable. Even though it uses back and forth scenes btw present and historic times, it's done very well and you never find it confusing like other productions I've seen. Acting is also very good and it's not too long at 14eps, which is quite perfect number in my book. There are 3 things that did not like and hence I did not give it a very good rating: - Abuse of the car accident trope - Twice being resucitated... really? one more than Jesus ffs lol - No chemistry btw the main leads. Also the FML is not my cup of tea. I would have prefer someone with more presence and better chemistry. All in all, I would recommend watching... at the end of the day are only 14 eps so go for it
Update 30-Jan Wow...oh wow... Just watched eps 9 &10 and that's exactly why I love korean dramas. Amazing change for the better... sooo entertaining! I enjoyed these two enormously. While I don't retract what I said below, I will admit this one getting better and better and defo will continue watching. Maybe because now i've read the manwha I do understand a bit better the characters eg Joo Ran. Still don't like women portrayed as doormats at the workplace or home but I get where she comes from. Hate her situation, don't hate her. Anyhoooo, looking forward to next chapters!!
Have to say that contrary to the gral consensus, this series is getting hard to keep watching. The FL is really getting on my nerves. Except very few instances when she really shows some strength of conviction, most of the times is just a tittering mess always looking like she's afraid of her shadow. Instances like when she sees boyfriend and friend kissing ... so what? She already knows they are going to get together behind her back, so what's going on with the crying? And still feeling sorry for that viper, really? what she has to do so you don't have any qualms to get revenge ? Dismember few infants? Ffs, she knows what she is, what she has done and what she's still doing and still feels sorry,,,????? And what's with the co-worker Joo Ran? she looks always drugged or dazed... during that convo with the character Lee in front of the lift, it was just awful. She looks 1sec away to drop sleep and completely spineless... As I said, so far watching but using lots, and lots of ffw. Very disappointed. If you get to relive what you have already lived there will be no surprises therefore why that constant attitude like a deer on headlights???
I hate when I struggle to get through dramas that have been recommended and have 12, 16 chapters of nothing. Yet, I started watching this one without expectations and boy I was really pleasantly surprised. It's short, well acted, good production and I loved it. I one long episode they managed to convey more feelings and make those characters so loved than all of those long productions. Kinda knew how it was gonna end but still managed to have a good cry. And that's even considering the subs were quite bad, not google bad, but pity we did not get them better. Sad to see that Yunhoo passed thinking his love was one sided but the final scenes appear to indicate that it wasn't so, or at least I want to think that. Some people mentions that maybe Jae Won character should have expressed his feelings bit more, but I think that it was consistent with someone that was trying to make things less painful for his friend, more so considering the times, where any indication of same sex love equates dead sentence. All in all, a truly beautiful and sad story. Recommended watch.
i means poor girl was bullied and probably had extreme anxiety and depression..
totally agree that bullying for years and then having that husband will affect anybody psychologically.... but I still think that this actress is just abusing those expressions too much. Nevertheless, thanks for responding to my comment.
Well so far not too impressed tbh. The way Park Min is acting is getting really annoying ... all that responding like a schoolgirl in front of the headmaster, all trembling and with eyes open like saucers gets old really quickly. And how many times she has falling over? for real? One thing is to portray a very naïve, downtrodden person... another to look like you have psychological issues with normal human interaction. A bit of looking like in shock here and there is fine, but she's doing it aaaaall the time! Will continue watching as I love the revenge trope but so far, My Perfect Husband, was way better in my opinion.
Esp coming from Watcha after "Semantic Error"....... what a disappointment indeed! Expected better from them
This is one of my favs too but I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with the finale... even at the very end when they are supposed to be living together as boyfriends, one is sleeping still in the sofa and the other in the bed? in which realm of the reality that is bound to happen if truly a couple? Bit silly. I don't need NCs every other minute but that ending ... please... at least show them sleeping in the same bed!! Still, love it ... it's super sweet 💖
Thanks for the recommendation... was short-ish but super sweet! I like them like this not when they go on and on and on... I get bored really quickly lol!. Just the right length in my book, so thanks again!
