I just had an epiphany for ep 44. We know that LBY is a calculated man, and although he is that he cares about his subordinates. But I think this is also the first time he realizes SS’s value to him and he doesn’t want to get her hurt. I think when he first had his revenge plans, I think he prolly had death in mind like revenge was the ultimate goal and he will be buried with them after. However, when he met SS everything changed.
I also think he was about to tell her, but stopped himself because knowing SS personality she would go to die with him, but I think he loves her to much that he doesn’t want her to die.

That “I really need you” broke my heart 😭😭
