Not necessarily, I see it as he’s so guarded all his life, he’s telling her that he’s opening his heart to her wholeheartedly, and is giving her a choice to take it or give it back to him so he’s not hurt. Shes also been so guarded her whole life that he’s communicating to her what he wants is beautiful.

I think it’s the push and pull, he wants her to know that he cares for her and she’s like “nah”. And he told her that “I give my heart fully, but if you won’t reciprocate, just tell me so I can take it back” And she was like “fine”
