I’m actually enjoying this drama so much, I love the light-hearted feel of the early episodes, the characters. even when it has a relation to ALP. but even without watching ALP, you can still enjoy the series, ALP just gives you a better understanding of the vast world the drama has. People also need to understand that ALP and TLI are different because ALP is shanggu/Yi he and Gu Jun’s (Yuan Qi’s parents) story, while TLI is Yuan Qi/Gu Jin and Feng Yin/A Yin’s story — so they’re different. You can see the relations and intertwining of the plots, and I’m enjoying to see it. yes, the name change can be somewhat confusing, but if you look it up, you’ll easily get it. I gotta say, I love the chemistry of Lusi and Anyu. and I’m enjoying Hong Yi as the SML, and even the eagle princess. Hua Shu is kinda annoying, but all the characters are distinct.I hope everyone just gives this drama a chance, whether you are ALP fans, Lusi fans, Anyu fans, Xu Kai fans and etc. I watched ALP because of Xu Kai and stayed because of the plot. Give this drama the same chance too! It just started and it’s moving great. I also am not a present drama watcher, I usually wait until a drama finishes to binge, but had to watch this one. I’m enjoying it so far!
Yeah less people give short dramas a try, since many of them are kind of bland.
I feel like it's sometimes a good thing. Less fillers and more opportunities for plot to go through. But the sad part is that it's too short when the drama is so good

I’ve never seen him as a villain, he’s a picture of a desperate man trying to waddle his way in the world. He’s jealous of the fact because he thinks TT is not special, but why is she lucky. When in reality, he is weak; not due to his poverty, but that he looks at himself a victim of his circumstances. Yes, his parents are a big issue, poverty is an issue, he tried to work hard and still feel less then.
But just like what Shen Duo said, he’s using his laziness as an excuse and trying to short cut his way through life, and wasn’t even grateful to the people who has helped him. It’s really sad.

Desperate times make desperate people. So honestly I think he’s already at the tipping point. The problem is he doesn’t have a spine, so he gets tossed here and there, and because of his own choices he is even more desperate to cover his own tracks. So yes, it’s sad cos his parents are to blame, but LQ is also too weak for his feet to stand on.

Meng Meng is such a really sad character, which also exists in real life. She's basically depraved of love growing up, and has embraced sexual thoughts as a way to experience “love“ and meets a guy who manipulates her and basically throws her away :’(. I'm crying for her.
