Agreed. The orginal ending really shines a light on the reallity of those who live with severe PTSD, especially war-related PTSD. I think changing that ending would do a disservice to all those who have suffered, still suffer, and will suffer from PTSD.

Not a cliffhanger, not an open ending, and not a settled ending either. The first season ending felt more like a continueing ending, if that makes since. Even the last caption before the ending credits of the last episode stated, "This is just the beginning of He Dun's story." There were several points in the story that were left unanswered or left open, such as the relationship between He Dun and her father, the true involvement of Jia Hui's adoptive father in all of what he manipulated Jia Hui to do, the relationship between Li Li and her police officer boyfriend, etc. It was clear by the ending that the story was more continueing rather than just ending altogether or ending on a cliffhanger.

I like the storyline, but its direction and flow is a mess. The flow is kind of disjointed and there are quite a few scene continuation issues in just the first 4 episodes already. The way each case is very theatrized also just doesn't work well with the vibe of the drama. I do like the story though and the actors/actresses, so I will stick with it for now and try to ignore the poor direction and scene editing. This has all been very typical of Youku dramas that were made around 2020, when financing dramas was difficult.

Per China's policy of dramas that have more than one season, it has to wait a minimum of one year before the second season can air, which totally sucks.

Yes, the first episode was super cringey and I almost dropped it before the episode had finished, but it gets better by episode 2. Episode 4 set my screen on 🔥🔥 Was not expecting a thai BL level NC scene in a Taiwanese BL. Hang in there. It gets better after the first episode.

Novel has happy ending with babies, but we all know how China loves to mess with its viewers' emotions and change up the ending. Only time will tell 🤞

I forgot about reading that part in the synopsis. That will certainly make things interesting, but it also scares me for the ending, considering that it contains both reincarnation and supposed time travel. China doesn't usually allow happy endings for dramas that have those themes. Fingers crossed for a happy ending 🤞

Viki shows an upcoming 14th episode, so I really hope we get a special episode. I'm going to try not to get my hopes up though because Viki also ONLY shows the upcoming 14th episode. The rest of the first 13 episodes have mysteriously disappeared. I hope that the 14th episode isn't an error on Viki's part and is an actual episode that will air within the next week or so 🙏🤞

Thank you so much for giving me peace of mind about Bo Feng and Yu Zheng. I am on episode 30 and had to come search through the comments to try and find out if Wen Peng successfully brainwashed and corrupted sweet, happy, and innocent Bo Feng. It was looking like Bo Feng was going to take a very dark turn thanks to Wen Peng's manipulation. Thank God that will not be the case. My heart couldn't take it.

They do carry guns in this drama, just very rarely. I believe it was episode 18 when they were looking for Ding Jing at Li Ruonan's hide out. The police investigative crew all were carrying guns then.

I don't think it will air this week. South Korea is under a National Period of Mourning for a week because of the tragic plane crash there that killed 179 of the 181 people on board. They have stopped all currently airing drama broadcasts and almost all kpop related events during the period of mourning.
