I'm currently watching another vertical with Zhang Bei Xi as male lead. Same exact story, even same character names, but Ou Na plays the female lead. It's called Between Crimson Lips on iQiyi.

I have already watched His Dearest, so when I started watching Between Crimson Lips I immediately noticed that the characters had the same names and that the story seemed oddly familiar. Sure enough, the synopsis for both dramas is more or less the same with all the same character names, as well. Unfortunately, Between Crimson Lips isn't listed on MDL yet.

Most abrupt ending ever that darn near leaves it open-ended, but I think it is very, very safe to say that it is a happy ending.

Same. I decided not to watch it because it wasn't worth that insane amount of money it would have cost to unlock it, especially a vertical.

Well, this was a really good series until around episode 50 or a little after, then it went down hill in a hurry, and more down hill, and then down a mountain. I don't understand how it could get so bad after being so good for over half the series, but really bad it got. Our ML went from being a total and absolute green flag to a red flag donkey's butt. His mother was a true wicked witch, but of course all the wrong his mother had done was thrown under the rug as soon as his mother found out the truth about the FL. Ugh, and I really was liking this series and was totally prepared to give it an 8 to an 8.5....and then it nose-dived like a bunker buster bomb. Now my rating is a 5.5, and that is being generous.
I will say, the acting by the main leads was very good. It was the plot/story/writing during those last 30 episodes that ruined a good drama.
