When Destiny Brings the Demon (Xianxia genre, but amazing chemistry, story line, and one of the most passionate Cdramas I have come across in a long time)

This was super good for a short drama. It feels like they set the ending up for a potential second season, too. This series was good enough to be a full-length series.

Based off of the preview trailers for tomorrow's episodes. It looks like they are reunited and he is free of the poison by episode 19. So, my guess is that they resolve it by the end of 18 or beginning of 19 tomorrow.

I share the same view as you. What is so wrong about Idols/Actors/Actresses, especially within the Asian entertainment community, having a relationship? Is it so wrong that they want happiness and love in their life? Are they not human? Are they less than human? Do they not have the same rights and the right to privacy as the rest of the human population? Why do some "fans" treat idols/actors/actresses like slaves to their bidding? It is a privilege and not a right that we, the viewers/listeners, get to participate in a small part of their lives. We should respect that privilege and treat them like human beings and not something more or less than human. We should be happy for them when they find their own happiness, not condemn them.

It picks up around episode 5 and 6. The first 4 to 4.5 episodes are mainly world building episodes, introducing all the characters, backgrounds, and backstories, etc.

It is the directing for this series. His acting is usually very good.

I had wondered if maybe it was a flashback, that it was maybe the first time he saw her, or something like that. I haven't read the novel, so I don't actually know.

I agree that if he was legally adopted and this was a relationship taking place in reality and not fiction, it would be totally weird. My own brother is adopted, and yeah....eeeww, nope, nope, nope 🙅‍♀️

He really is adopted. He is the son of Mumu's dad's friend who died. Mumu's dad brought Jin Zhao home against the wishes of Mumu's mother, which is why Jin Zhao went with Mumu's dad after the divorce.

For me, it is my go-to rewatch after finishing a very heavy drama. It's the ultimate unwind and relax drama when you just need a break from the hard grind and heavy of life, or when you just need a break from reality.
