As a South Korean myself, SK have enough lgbt. I've seen a lot. SK is not some lqbtq free country as you hope. Also, non lgbtq people are also somewhat interested in watching those lgbtq factors in movies. tv, and OTT, hence more and more bl drama/movie/book/webtoon and even lgbtq dating series are being made in SK. Yall haters can cry abt it, but k-contents will be containing more and more of lgbtq friendly factors in the future since more than 80 percent of 1020 SK ppl replied in public poll, that they are not against same sex marriage. Cry me a river, kdrama watching homophobes. Go watch shows from your country, your culture, and leave us out of it, stop whining. We don't owe you anything and we don't really care about your opinions. Freeloading few K-shows don't really give you rights to lecture us. We don't really give a sh*t.
damn yall always have to complain whenever there's same sex relationship portrayal on tv and calling it "westernized"…
true as SK person myself, SK have enough lgbt, I've seen enough. They are just laying low. Also, non lgbtq people are also somewhat interested in watching those factors in movies. tv, and OTT, hence more and more bl drama/movie/book/webtoon and even lgbtq dating series are being made in SK. They can cry all abt it if they hate it, but k-contents will be containing that more and more in the future since more than 80p of 1020 said they are not against same sex marriage. TVING is an OTT platform owned by CJ ENM, one of the biggest corporation in Korea and they also have partnership…
well I thought you were countering my opinion about tving being relatively small or struggling in OTT market and used those info for that purpose. I guess that's not the case and I got it wrong. I should've stated it more detailed from the get go I guess. I just meant Korean National OTT has its limit and budget and spliting season strategy was needed. I'm rooting for korean national OTTs too, more so since they have limited pool of subs, which is Koreans only. Id say they should change their payment system and add subtitles to get international viewers, but that would require more money, so I guess that's not possible now lol

i searched google out of curiosity and there's article about tving being in red in sales. minus 76.2 billion won in 2021 and minus 119 billion one in 2022 apprently. Now I think they need subs even more desperately than I initially thought.

Also, cj e&m is indeed a big company, but they can't afford as much as netflix or disney plus in terms of production, they have lots of managements, food company, trade department, and even few broadcasting systems. The list goes on if you include companies they hold stocks/share of. They have limited budget, lots to cover, and can't(won't) put all eggs in one basket. 400 billion won is a lot, but that is much smaller amount than other foreign OTTs. In case of Netflix or Disney plus, they get lots of foreign capitals, invested by Netflix or disney themselves. CJ have to use their money. Hence as you said, they can't(don't) make multiple high-budget dramas at once like netflix/disney. this series took more than 2 years to be made too, not like it took that long to film. And I'm Korean so I'm not trying to talk down about Korea at all.

Well tving is still more than 2 times smaller than NETFLIX and it was smaller before, the reason it got bigger and got top position in Korean OTT is that it absorbed KT SEEZEN and got a lot of outside investments which only happend in december last year. There was whole article about it in Korean. Also, it is not possible for Korean national OTTs to gain international viewers, because they don't offer english page or subtitles, and you need korean credit card or phone number. Their sole expected benefit comes from Korean Subs. Also, I'm not saying it is NOT a strategy for OTTS to split parts, my whole comment was that it is. Not sure what your point is here. Drink now, work later increased KR subs by 120% in tving, so I'm sure they see the effect in doing seasons.
I think the twins should at least be in high school for this sequel. It's just that the main leads don't look…
well technically they have to be like 6 years. They don't look like parents who would have children older than that. they look much younger than peers too.
she probably isn't :( if they were her parents then they wouldn't appear only as cameo πππ
that happens sometimes but at best +- 10 years. They are not even 10 yrs older than the actress who plays season 2. That will make no sense at all, even twilight casted parents looking age-appropriate lol. The only scenario that'd make sense is that they appear as dead or left, in sort of a flashback memorie of a young child. And baam few decades later she got older.
As far as I know Park Hyung Shik confessed to Park Bo Young after SWDBS but she rejected her. Did it become awkward…
i don't really believe it but I think this is quite possible tho. I mean you could totally see it in his eyes, not even only on set, that he likes pby very very much. He adored her.
Ohh this is so exciting. Their chemistry was insane in Do Bong Soon. I am laughing at the people 'who will watch…
people watching it for the cameo aren't the same people who hated DBS. I loved DBS but I'm watching season 2 purely for the cameo. season 2 is whole different story with different cast, and some people might not be interested, and just want to watch season 1 couple again. Nothing's wrong with that.
well they don't look similiar at all to other koreans, i guess you are not asian or Korean? Every person kinda…
well I'm korean who's been in korea all my life, and beauty standard in Korea is super narrow and confined, specific so people who have surgeries tend to follow it for sure, (hence there's word for it too in korea, Kangnam Beauty, saying that man-made beauties all look alike) but I don't really see the similarity btwn actor/actresses in this series, and I haven't heard of any comments like that. Not in this comment section either. Maybe they look similiar to you due to the same styling rather than surgeries since they wear all the same uniform and hairstyle and glasses? I don't really think they look alike as in shape of the face, eyes, nose, or mouth. I have literally never seen anyone saying they look alike, not in kr, not in here either. Maybe due to the school uniform and haircut/glasses? they are all skinny people wearing same uniform, many of them glasses.
I see a lot of comments saying they don't understand why tving (production) split it into 2 parts, but that's pretty understandable if you hear the situation out. TVING, the production is KOREAN national OTT system, which makes it much harder to get financed, or to get famous. Let alone big international ones such as netflix or disney+, Tving is competing with other Korean national OTTs too. This is their heart and soul poured project which they spent many years, lot of money (not much compared to netflix made ones or ones being nationally broadcasted through TV but for national OTT it's huge). They have to draw as much attention as they can. And they make money off TVING subscribers in Korea, not foreigners watching it on other platforms. So ofc they devided it to pt2 to "attract" new subscribers. It was INEVITABLE choice for them.
Great idea and story but it was weak in some part for example in training part . Also they tried to choose good…
well they don't look similiar at all to other koreans, i guess you are not asian or Korean? Every person kinda have a difficult time telling people apart from different race to some degree, hence the famous white people joke "all asians look alike". Also, celebrities from EVERY country has plastic surgeries. Only favored body part differs. For example boob job is one of the most favored surgery in foreign countries, but Koreans barely do that. their most go-to surgery is eyes.
If you are into school- teenager related series, zombie or somewhat like it, science fiction stuff, and action hero movies, the odds of you liking it might be around 80%. People who actually read OG webtoon seem to like the tv series less. Your chance of enjoying it might be higher if you are starting from zero. Computer graphic level is pretty decent for korean national ott budget series.
Btw I'm Korean and I'm getting the sense that this series is evaluated higher here than in Korean communities. Might be due to the fact more Koreans watched the OG webtoon and had super high hopes abt itπ
