Not sure if you're still on ep2, but in ep3, PWX tells LR he didn't kill her in their past life--and from then…
Yeah, I get it. I also started this drama a year ago because I had nothing else to watch. I also hesitated after reading the negative comments. I ended up enjoying the majority of the drama tbh... their dynamic is sweet. It's best to watch it without the comments in mind.
Why was he castrated if he is the young lord for the Su family?
If I remember correctly... the Su family was accused of a big crime/treason and were executed. SRQ only survived because LR begged for him. But because the Su family committed a crime, they had to castrate him if he were to be kept alive... probably to ensure there will be no more heirs for the Su family.
Hi I'm now on ep 2 and I know its a 40 episode drama. However am a bit inpatient as I know the Su guy is apparently…
Not sure if you're still on ep2, but in ep3, PWX tells LR he didn't kill her in their past life--and from then on, you can say she acknowledges him. And after that, you will see LR start to worry for PWX , protect him, and find comfort in him.
Personally, I don't think Su Rong Qing had much screen time until maybe.. 30 eps in. Eps 1-2 make it seem like LR likes SRQ more than PWX, but trust me, she def only loves PWX.
After letting this drama sit in my watchlist for months, I finally got around to watching it!! Every time I would consider starting it, I would hesitate because of their relationship being built on lies and the angst after the truth comes out. HOWEVER, I found that the comedic undertone did help lighten the mood. Plus, I couldn't really get that mad at CXZ because I love Zhang Wan Yi 😭. Anyway, CXZ did pay for his lies down the line—well-deserved, imo.
I thought episodes 17-22 were the hardest episodes to get through because I haaated how they both kind of kept up the act after knowing the identities of the other. It was painful seeing how the cracks in their relationship got deeper and deeper. Episodes 23-30 were surprisingly easier to watch because even though they "separated," at least there were no more lies.
Thoroughly enjoyed CXZ and LMT's dynamic in the drama; ZWY and WCR have good chemistry. This was my first work from WCR, and I am impressed! Overall a reeeeally good watch! And this is coming from a person that avoids dramas with lots of misunderstandings like the plague :)
Okay, I finally finished this drama. I started for Zhang Wan Yi and kinda pushed through for him too. The first half was meh to me, but the second half was definitely better. I loved episodes 22-26 the most. The world-building wasn't the best, as I got confused at times or felt like some parts didn't flow well. I think the main lead's romance was the best part of it, along with his "secret" identity arc. With that being said, I HATE the princess royal AND her daughter. Could not stand their parts and had to skip forward a lot.
But overall, it was a good watch with a long and satisfying HE; the second half saved it for me :)
