Not going to lie, the latter half of the last episode made me sad that everyone forgot him :( But somehow I guessed who the hooded man was... I am very excited to see how the story continues.
I just finished watching!!! Instantly made it to my top 5 dramas. I actually love that this drama felt so balanced—it wasn't too heavy and had lots of comedic parts, but the plot was also intricate and engaging throughout. The story was beautifully written and flawlessly executed, in my opinion.
Xu Qi'an's character has to be one of my favorite written characters of all time. He's unserious and likes to joke around. But given the situation, he's also extremely loyal and compassionate and never stray away from his own morals. I love how he gained the trust and support of practically everyone, and I adored his relationships with all the supporting characters. XQA said and did all the things that everyone was too afraid to say or do. I truly will miss his character.
And for all those comments I saw about how XQA and Lin'an don't suit each other, I disagree. They are both silly and like to play around at heart. They're also like-minded in a sense. Once the whole misunderstanding was resolved, they understood each other well and mutually provided comfort and support. Romance was a subplot, so there wasn't much room to see development in their relationship. However, I think for the amount of screentime they got together, their relationship was enough in my eyes.
Overall 10/10 drama; I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dylan Wang did amazing as XQA; he perfectly embodied the character!! I am diligently waiting for season 2 <3
Just finished this. I LOVED the bromance; it was what kept me going. It was so much better than the actual romance between JS and YMQ, in my opinion.
The plot is interesting even though I got confused at some points (and I didn't skip scenes). The ending was unexpected, even though I had some suspicions as to who the villain was. Overall, a good watch!
