If I know a drama is being adapted from a webtoon and I want to watch the drama I tend to opt out of reading the comic so that a. I won't be spoiled and b. my enjoyment isn't clouded by what I know should/could be. I made the mistake of reading some of the JN webtoon.
It's always best practice to just expect changes but hope they are good changes. Like The Handmaiden, great adaptation of the English novel it's based on. I'm surprised they admitted to removing a main character before the premiere of the show.
there are lot of LGBT characters or even couples in Korean dramas nowadays... better no romance at all than making…
You and every single one of your gay friends is a transphobe, and you're all hypocrites and hateful people.
Yeah, blame the community of trans people for the problems LGBTQ (notice the T? Is this a surprise to you after 35 years of activism?) people are facing now and have been facing since forever. It couldn't be the fault of homophobes/transphobes and bigots who are extremely frightened by changes in societal norms. The extreme backlash trans people are facing is very similar to the overreactions gay/lesbian/bisexual people faced so many years ago.
Lmao they cut the lesbian character from here. Good ridince. Gay stories are everywhere lately even in kids entertainment…
BuYoung wasn’t the only queer character. It's also a show based on a womens theater group that tell romantic stage plays so you haven't actually escaped gay stories. They also said they're giving aspects of BuYoung to other characters.
I partly agree, but the romance is not much in this story, it's mostly about her journey as a singer - if it was…
BuYoung is still a main character though so why cut her out (not confirmed though). Also, because the romance aspect isn't the primary focal point of the story it seems even more pointless to cut out a main character?
We recently had a popular historical drama openly depict a prince as a transgender character but JN's story may get stripped of part of it's lgbtq themes. Doesn’t sit right with me. Especially considering fans of the original love BuYoung & the ship.
Ok, does anyone’s mind about what was the letter about? And from who? Season 2? OMG
All the letters Yeon Joo was getting seem to be from Moon Young. At least that's my assumption because the one we see her get is shown to be from MY and we're told that she keeps getting these letters (sounds like the same letters?). I would like a season 2 as well, but only if there's enough interesting story to tell. And as long as we get more Moon Young and Yeon Joo interactions.
I can already see it. These dramas where the female lead starts off married never end well for the marriage lol.
A disappeared husband under mysterious circumstances, leading to unexpected revelations about said husband, and a neighbor who may seem suspicious but ultimately becomes close to the female lead 😏
TvN had an exclusive deal with Netflix but I think that deal ended in 2022 so now who knows where JN will end…
For the US (and I think Europe) Disney releases its kdramas on Hulu but don't promote them as Hulu releases, doesn’t make sense to me. Netflix at least makes it consistent, one platform globally for kdramas. Amazon seems to make their kdramas available globally, and they also host a kdrama streaming service called kocowa (but it costs extra).
Praying to the drama gods LET THIS BE ON NETFLIX! 😭🙏

I hope for Netflix too. I may be wrong but it seems to me that most international kdrama fans (especially western audience?) use Netflix over Disney/Hulu/Amazon.

It’s totally not okay imo. I'm disappointed with the news, can't imagine how mad fans of the original comic are.
They also said they're giving aspects of BuYoung to other characters.
I hope you end up disappointed.

Did they learn something we don’t know?

Also, Taeri was apparently involved in the planning stage of the drama.
