I skimmed through today's episode. I didn't see Gyuri anywhere. But you are right. It has to be Gyuri. I am not exactly her fan. I don't dislike her or anything. But I do feel cutting her off was so unfair. Let's say she made the mistake in the past. I am sure she got her karma or whatever. Cutting her off does nothing to the situation. What they are giving us is incomplete stories and its frustrating.
Sorry, I know my comment might be insensitive to the wife (assuming she's guilty). But the PDs already chose to have her on the show. So just share the full story. It might be just me but I feel showing her scenes does nothing to her situation. Doesn't make it less popular, because it aint popular than it is. Also, it doesn't make it more popular than it is. She's just one piece of the storytelling. Cutting her off does injustice to some of us viewers who were invested.

Haha. I am with you on that one. The boys? I think choosing anyone to root for will only get you disappointed. I keep getting 2nd hand embarrassment just watching them on a date. So just like you, I just empathize with most of them. And you gave a good example of the gamer guy. He just followed the society's definition of success and never tried to form relationships. But definitely not taking anyone's side. Not because they're a horrible human beings. Just because they have a lot to learn. The boys are more like children on a training wheel. They are just so bad at dating.
On the other hand, the girls are so much better. Unless you told me otherwise, I wouldn't tell they're forever single. They're a bit more composed. I think I like Su Ji better than the rest from the beginning. Even before she got more confused now on who she will go for. Mainly, its because she's closer to my personality as a person. She's a homebody like me and she has almost similar hobby to mine. I would have chosen Hyunseo if I had a passion for manga. But its Su Ji for me also because of how she talks. Before she got in this mess that she is in right now, I saw her as very bright. I like how she talks to someone. She just feels warm and I liked how she was telling other women how beautiful they are (after the rotation date with Seung Hyun).
But I guess she will become more reserved now that she keeps getting confused. Other girls are okay. Nothing over the top. I bet they could date anyone on the outside world. They just need to put themselves out there. Thats all they need. Matter of fact, they all need to do just that, guys included. Aside from their personalities, they're all good looking human beings. And some of them accomplished even since they only focused on dating.
As a psyc student, you really never hate anyone. I get cringed most of the time but I try to understand where they are coming from.

You can say its his music but the agency managed his entire career. So the agency that scammed was also in charge of his acting career. So cutting them off also means pausing your acting career. An agency also helps you land deals and projects. So cutting them off means you are stranded. Thats where he's at.

I think his excuses makes a lot of sense. Other girls did have an impact on him thats for sure. But I don't think the fall out between him and her is solely because of that.
In my opinion, the difference in how they express affection is what led him to look at other options. And since they are available, it kinda gives him a bit of arrogance. If he had no option, he would have tried to make it happen with her as she's the only one interested.
But having more options makes him arrogant such that now he's questioning should I really try to make this work when I have this other options to choose from. He's become greedy and wants to explore thinking there's someone better out there for him.
If he was starved for attention, then he would have tried to make it work with her.
That makes him insufferable. I think the mind games Hyunseo such as trying play hard to get isn't helping either. I saw that she could express interest and also checked up on him to see if he was getting better. Initially, what I saw is that she just sat back and kind of said, you are the one interested so make all the effort. Now with competition, she's a little expressive. She tried to initiate a conversation.
So you can say whatever, but having some competition definitely gives you an edge. It shouldn't work that way. But it just does. So his ego will just inflate as they go on.
Also, back to your point, he was attracted to her because of her VOICE just like how I said earlier. If you watched his interview, its something he struggled with that he had to practice it. Then comes hobbies, like reading mangas, they seem to have that similarity. Now where I think they differ is that they have different values and perspectives. His idea of expressing interesting is so different from hers.
For example, he likes someone gentle, expressive and speaks positively not necessarily bright. To make it simple for you, let's say someone who is like 'clingy'. Those characteristics you get from someone as time goes on. You don't just notice them from the go. I can validate his feelings on that. However, instead of maybe trying to work around that with the person, he won't. Why? He got options. 'Maybe there's someone better out there' kinda mindset.

He just doesn't like her way of expressing herself. Its interesting because he said he likes her voice. But not the way she talks. He said something like she doesn't speak positively. I guess he meant speaking in an open minded manner. In other words, she is clear about what she likes and doesn't. So he feels like they will fight a lot. One thing for sure is that he's impatient. He comes to conclusion so quickly. Just by that, he is starting to lose interest in her.

So in a nutshell, today's episode showed the flaky person become more consistent while the one who was the most consistent has now become flaky. I went back and watched the trailer and I could place everyone's voices. I could tell them apart. It looks like Hyun Seo is going to have a hard time.
I think she should have kept her options open until the end. Now that she has narrowed down only to him, she will get more hurt. But what to do. Its not like she can force herself to like other guys when she doesn't. I feel like Su Ji likes Hyuk Joon more. He is the clear favorite. You could see how she reacts on their date. She doesn't do that with either Jung Hyun or Seung Hyun.

You sound so petty, omg. Gyuri brought all this to herself. You can blame the PDs or whatever. The show continues and it has its fanbase. Y'all Gyuri's bias can leave it out of your watchlist. You will be missed never. Adios!

I knew your argument about the ratings had an angle about Gyuri even before you mentioned her. Bro, most of us don't care. I see you didn't even mention season 4, which also had similar ratings as this season. The show continues. And guess what? It will get renewed for next season too. Matter of fact, they might as well blame a contestant for the low ratings than take any responsibility. I don't see how the PDs will feel guilty. Its not a new territory. The show has always had low ratings and it get renewed every time. And me and you will be here for the next season arguing about our bias. At this point, the show has always been bigger than me and you or even one contestant dropping out or being cut.

Sorry. Its lame but we still get to enjoy it.

Not really. He might have achieved everything he needed from his career and decide to either take it easy or retire.

Most of the OG actors/actress settled down and started a family and said goodbye to the spotlight. Maybe its all part of the plan. Like mine, I work myself like a donkey until age 30 and then retire. Start a family and work from behind the scenes (own something that generates income).

He was scammed out of his money and he hasn't found a stable agency where his needs are met. So it hasn't been exactly a rosy path for him to miss it.

How does she attract clout exactly? So when they post her in her worst behavior, it attracts audience? I don't think anyone goes to watch the show expecting how bad Gyuri is going to do today.
All I could say is that maybe they included her because she was part of the love story line people wanted to see, WY-GY-YG. But she's also linked to Seowon. I think thats bad of them not to include that love line. Anyway, overall, most of us go to watch the show expecting good love lines and not how bad Gyuri is going to be.

I don't know how edits makes one fan favorite. But you could say that. My definition of evil editing is including parts where you come across as a jerk without providing the context. As for Gyuri, I think we had all the context to say her actions were not appropriate through the edits. Anyway, it could have helped to have seen her self-talk to know what was going on in her head during those scenes so we could understand her actions/words.
