Obviously they don't give a darn about this drama. It's now airing just 1 episode every 2 weeks. Simply destroying the good work by the actors and crew. If I were Park Gyu Young, I'd be really pissed. Low ratings will affect her bottom line in future endeavors. They are sabatoging the show and the actors.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that is the way it works locally in Korea. I don't think actors get "global fees." Unless maybe if it is a Netflix original production. Negotiating fees per drama, I can see that. Anyway, episode one was good..

They are not paid by number of episodes, but PER episode. If you make 100 million won per episode, 12 is less than 16. Not all 12 episode dramas increase the minutes per episode. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen a 90 minute episode. The most I have seen is 80, and that is rare. Yes they are paid per episode. Using my figure, the actor would lose 400 million won. Almost 300 thousand dollars. Some actors make double that. It is an obvious loss of income, unless it is negotiated to make up for it. Many actors work maybe one drama a year, sometimes 2 years. That is an incredible loss of income if that is all you are getting. Again, I still intend to enjoy the drama. Here is a good example. Kim So Hyun filmed River Where the Moon Rises. She had to film the drama twice, but only got paid for once. Good thing it was a 20 episode drama! Because her next drama was 27 months later.! At least she got paid at her rate for 20 episodes!

Actors are indeed paid by the episode. Hopefully they can negotiate that. Yes, crew is paid by the hour. take away four episodes and you have less hours. 12 is not as big as 16, no matter how you slice it.
