In one episode, we think something's gonna happen, and in the next we are thrown under the bus by some twist or misunderstanding. FL was a bit jealous of SFL when she saw her together with ML, and the hospital photo triggered her quite a bit. But that was completely foreshadowed by her sadness due to her mother. So now FL, occupied by her very valid sadness, does not have the energy to realise any progress in her feelings for the ML, and we also have ML thinking that he read into it too much, and there is nothing at all in between them. So now they are farther from where they started. Great!!! At this pace and a 1-episode schedule, I am gonna age 50 years waiting for them to be together. At least give me 2 episodes a day!!!!!
Just a hypothesis but I think their relationship dynamic will be opposite of whay they have now. Cause right now FL seems to have the upper hand but whenever a romantic scene is even remotely there she folds completely 😂 ML seems to have the upper hand in those scenes.
Episode 8-9: Now we finally have closure from FL's side about the whole thing, and we also know the reason for what happened with the program that was cancelled, and things between them are really progressing. These 2 episodes we best so far can't wait for the next ones in line.
ML hate squad: His childhood friend + his childhood friend + His future wife😂. The only point they all relate to is how much they hate ML's personality😂. Although he rules over the first 2 but, for the last one it's like, "Come find me," and he is running there asap (also somehow knows where she will be).
Our FL no longer knows how to act around ML😂. Now that she doesn't blame/hate him she is unable to interact with ML at all, she is being super awkward. And is frightened by the fact that her mind is considering ML ramantically like the way she gets goosebumps everytime she has some moment with ML or is thinking about him. 😂😂 Because more or less he was her mortal enemy few days ago.
Felt genuinely bad for ML in episode 5, bro has been trying to make it up to FL on so many levels. As a boss, he is not obligated to make his employees "like" him, so if he were an actual cold character like the one he poses to be, he wouldn't bother clearing up their misunderstanding and trying to get FL's forgiveness. He genuinely feels bad about what happened due to his oversight and is opening up to her using his actual personality and not the one he uses for work. His exhausted eyes from work, which turned into concern and then turned to express a bit of his anger and disappointment, conveyed his emotions really well. It feels like FL knows ML is not at much fault; she puts him at fault but is not sure how to put an end to it and keeps going around in circles.
They flipped ML's character 180 degrees in just 2 episodes, or in less than 30 minutes of screen time, that's the fastest Miles Wei has gone from his cold CEO mode to gullible green forest😂😂.
All the people who are complaining about the ML's personality, wait a few episodes; Miles Wei's characters usually starts off as an arrogant, cold ML, but towards the end of the first half changes into a freakin large green forest. Also, what happened in episode 1 felt like a genuine misunderstanding, considering how often people approach heirs with ulterior motives. For now, I like the way the plot is progressing, but I am not sure how they are going to proceed with the romantic plot in this scenario cause its going to cause a big controversy so its a bumpy road ahead.
SFL should keep 2 maids instead of one, because the only maid she has behaves like her inner demon. If she had two, maybe one would give her a bit of good advice. Every time SFL has a moment of doubt or shows any sign of character development, like a devil's whisper, her maid starts off spewing poison in her ears.
The trailers don't do justice to the episodes at all; from the trailer, I couldn't feel much about the whole 16-heads situation. But man, when Yang Yu Cheng killed himself in front of the ML to save everyone, when FL was imprisoned by SML, when war was raging high in the garrison. I can now completely understand why ML became someone who now believes only in power and is cold and ruthless, because without this, whom will he protect if he can't even protect himself?
Okay, so from what I understand, SML has a severe inferiority complex and has high self-esteem. He has grown up sheltered and did not actually see or explore the world, plus had little to no authority over his life due to his parents. He naively thinks that being successful is just a normal course of action if one is from a good family and has studied hard, but there should be something wrong if someone of low origin becomes successful (bro has never seen a merchant or a general (well, it kind of does support the idea of how scholarly ministers usually view army soldiers). Thus, seeing how FL burned those written confessions to save ML was quite incomprehensible for him. He claims to want to build something of his own yet uses his family's power whenever he feels like it (wowww.... hypocrite), but somehow doesn't realise it himself. I don't want a redemption arc for him or the SFL i want the revenge arc that ML will bring to them (which might not happen, seeing how the author shields the SML's family from everything)
Okay, so the story started on the premise of marriage. The trailer looked like we would get a married couple, but the way things are, it's all gonna be resolved in the last episode, I guess. Both the FL and all of us don't know what the hell is going on with the marriage part of the story.😂😂 Nearly all the starting episodes were so focused on the FL's marriage; even now, it is, to some extent, just that it's somehow still not happening. Also, given the way SML, SFL, and their family are, I really want the ML's revenge arc to include them too. Because somehow that family can get away with everything in this story.
Oh man, oh man, I just saw the teaser for episodes 17 and 18, hypocrite SML broke something inside ML, bro literally became Shen Du from the melody of the golden age. His new character intro, the aura he carries- I guess the black gloves are some kind of OCD, as he might be suppressing his feelings of guilt, etc, to stay sane (or maybe I am just overthinking). Well, it seems like he will leave FL in the town for a while until maybe he becomes someone above people like SML (well, SML did say ML will never be above his (SML's) father), or he did leave, or so, that she can be free.
The scene where Zhao Ling (ML) takes revenge against Lu Da Hu reminded me of Shen Du from the Melody of the Golden Age. It was so well directed; the background music, the tension, the pleading, and the face ML made with blood spilled over his face were all top-notch.
It's so infuriating to see how the spineless villains in this drama are somehow justifying their actions. The SML, SFL, SML's mother, FL's grandmother, the widow granddaughter-in-law, etc.
It will be so funny if the new maid of FL turns out to be the real Jiuweijiao. Because she seems suspicious to me, the way she was introduced and has somehow made her place so easily on FL's side. Also, the way ML just melted when FL praised him in episode 7, they already make such a good team.
It's so cute to see how similar ML and FL are; both are really good at heart but act all tough. It's only episode 6 where I am right now, but it seems they already have a soft spot for each other. I was grinning so badly when FL was holding the sword, trying to threaten the ML into her plans, while we all know (including him) how much she pleaded to save him too, even though it is a part of her plan; still, she chose to include him while painting a good image of him and not of some villain who needs to be prosecuted.
Wait, I just saw the teaser of episode 10. Did FL just propose to the ML? The way she described it was strangely convincing and beautiful at the same time. I may have misunderstood, but it seems to be the case.
