It may not be the case because her actual plan as per what I think was to earn money and work, plus not to date. And that's maybe what that dialogue is referring to as "everything was going as planned until I met you". Another thing would be that the dialogue was referring to Theia, as she wasn't living her life just surviving(which would be the original plan) but it changed as she is now the captain(maybe towards the end) and is doing what is wants.
