I agree! I was shocked because it has 8.1 rating before dropping to 7.9, like who's rating such a beautiful movie…
It's just that I'm comparing with the ratings of Drawing Closer & Even if This Love Disappears from the World Tonight, which is far higher than this. But I guess it's because the other have more original concept.
I've been avoiding this for a long time because I thought it's just a regular romance drama. I decided to watch it because I saw Sakura Fujiwara in the casts when I searched it up. I totally have no expectation. I just want to distract myself mourning from a traumatic jmovie.
But I got totally hooked after episode 1. And then I thought it will be a journey of Mukai to finding a new love. Then they started to have deep topics each episode. Some important life topics that only few are open to talk about (or maybe they are normal topics in some countries). It's surprisingly deep.
I understand some of the hate comments because of what this show is promoting. But it's the reality nowadays and it's not influencing those people for having that views in life. This drama is just showing that reality. Afterall, there are still those side characters that contradicts the views and life choices of the main supporting characters. The issues discussed here is balanced.
I won't comment much to avoid spoilers. I was just amazed that the drama I avoided for a long time will have a great impact to me. The conversations of Mukai and Sakaido during meals somehow remind me of Brush Up Life. But the two have totally different topics.
The reason that's why I watch it is Sakura Fujiwara and she was the most interesting character here for me. I'm having a hard time understanding her at first that's why she's interesting.
I think this is the first time I left a comment this long. This drama is just so addicting. This will definitely add to my all time fave jdramas.
What's with the low rating? I know slow and sad stories aren't for everyone, but this movie was beyond beautiful.…
I agree! I was shocked because it has 8.1 rating before dropping to 7.9, like who's rating such a beautiful movie that low. It actually deserves a rating like of Drawing Closer.
It's so great! The ost is perfect for the plot. I ended up crying by the end. I shed more tears here than in Drawing Closer. My Kaya Kiyohara never fails in her roles.
This movie also convinced me to watch Love Letter.

I can start another tragic movie after 1 or sometimes 2 weeks.
Still can't move on from the pain of 18×2 so I'm distracting myself right now and watching romcom jdramas.
