I think there is a deeper meaning too. With Yoh, Mizuki can show and be in his true shadow nature. He doesn't have to pretend to be like everyone else. He can be domineering and sadistic, yet gentle and kind. Yoh appreciates and connects with both sides of Mizuki's personality.
I think Yoh has this sort of kink and Mizuki knows it. You can't forget that he writes erotic manga for a living.…
>>>> After all these episodes Iβve come to realise that Yo is an unreliable narrator.
You're 1000% correct. Yoh is emotional and going through a rough patch in his life. We get some clues of his irrationality from his conversation with Manju and her husband. When they asked him if he was maybe interpreting what Mizuki said to him wrong because of his mood. So everyone around Yoh knows that he is prone to melancholy and self-defeatism. We as the viewer have to decipher this using clues from what people are saying around him.
Mizuki and Yoh were drawn to each other because they both possess the same morose and dark temperament. They only differ because Mizuki learned how to mask his true nature to fit in with others and Yoh just doesn't care to.
Imagine having a cold and you have to chew on undercooked veggies ππππππ he had it real bad!!…
Right!!! π I was screaming while Mizuki was crunching on the veggies and choking down, what I assumed was a super salty gravy on the rice.
What's even funnier is that Mizuki CAN cook! When he was taking care of Yoh, Yoh loved his food and it actually looked edible. Which made Mizuki eating Yoh's terrible food even more adorable to me.
This is a very well articulated analysis, and I think you're 100% right about Mizuki being the worse communicator!…
>>> Yoh's miscommunication seems to come from genuine confusion and lack of confidence - He doesn't know where he stands, he doesn't know how much he matters. But Mizuki isn't at all confused about his feelings, his trouble seems to come from the fact that he doesn't even KNOW he's miscommunicating, he thinks their entire situation and his feelings for Yoh should be obvious based on the life they've built together. >>>
You're spot on! Mizuki seems to believe that his actions and limited words suffice. However, Yoh is always in a state of confusion. A touch of clarity from Mizuki would change everything between them. Take the incident with the sheets and the weather, for instance. Once Mizuki clarified his reasoning, Yoh immediately went out and bought enough sheets for an entire week.
Seeing how Mizuki and Yoh met and began thier friendship as cat and mouse kindred spirits makes thier misunderstandings even more annoying BUT adorable. They communicate through acts of service, oculesics and touch, but with very few words.
Mizuki thinking the manga character was modeled after Kanami-san's husband is the most hilarious misunderstanding yet.
After episode 6, it's become increasingly clear that Mizuki may be the worst emotional communicator of the two. Yoh appears to have no trouble communicating how he feels with Kanami-san and her husband, but when it comes to Mizuki, Yoh struggles to decipher his thoughts due to Mizuki's cryptic language. As a result, Yoh finds it challenging to discern Mizuki's true emotions. This may explain why Yoh had difficulty articulating the feelings of Mizuki's manga character; he still doesn't have a clear understanding of Mizuki's emotions. While one might argue that Yoh should know Mizuki's feelings based on his actions and words, Mizuki rarely openly expresses his emotions to Yoh or confirms Yoh's feelings toward him.
This show is handling angst in a fantastic way. It's frustrating but also entertaining. As opposed to just being frustrating to the point of madness, like "Minato's Coin Laundry Season 2". I had to drop that drama because the angst just became ridiculous.
I find it hilarious that Mizuki can cook well and chooses to eat Yoh's terrible food everyday. How can Yoh not see how much he loves him?! Yoh is adorable.
He is! The two of them are too much. Yoh being so anxious and neurotic that he chooses a lie over the truth. Mizuki knowing heβs lying and tracking him. So toxic that itβs funny. When Mizuki asked Yoh if he got a shady overnight job I was cackling at his facial expression. π

>>> If my lover uses our love as inspiration for his acting role, I would actually be flattered. An artist needs inspiration and if I'm his muse, I'll be so happy and glad that he included our emotions and love into his craft.
This was my EXACT thought! Punn being upset about it just doesn't make sense to me. Especially when this information comes from Title of all people.
They should have made this show 10 episodes and fleshed out why CJ & LJ were separated. We needed more back story like, why/how did LJ become an idol. What was CJ doing in the US and why did both Simeon and the manager seem to have a thing for LJ.
Too much of the story was centered around the office setting and not enough character development. There was enough time to develop Simeon and the Manager's relationship more.. at this point I still don't know what they are suppose to be.
There are a lot of holes in this story. The chemistry between the main leads pretty much carried the show and that doesn't say much.
It doesn't make sense if Boston is trying to say that Mew is not a virgin. Like he went the whole first episode…
>>It doesn't make sense if Boston is trying to say that Mew is not a virgin. Like he went the >>whole first episode talking about how Mew needed to lose his virginity, and he even >>introduced him as a virgin to Top.
Ok, I thought Boston was the one who told Top that Mew was a virgin! So when he told top he was acting.. I was like wait a minute..
My theory on Boston isn't that he's in love with Top. I think that he started to get jealous that someone who…
I KINDA felt like Boston likes Top because they took a picture together and Boston kept it. That seems like dating activities to me. And when Nick asked Boston if he liked Top, he didn't answer immediately.
Either they use to date and Top was a hoe and Sand dumped him. OR they had a bad one night stand. OR Top did one of Sand's friends wrong and he hated him all along.
Not that anyone asked, but here is my thoughts on the couples:
Hye Sun and Kwang Won (green couple) are one of my favs. I love the dynamics of their relationship. They aren't trying to fit into any boxes or appear to be anything they aren't. They also don't give me superficial vibes at all. Their relationship appears to be based on a genuine friendship and love and it shows in how they communicate with each other.
Sang Min and Su Hyeon (yellow couple) are another fav. You can tell they've been together for 15 years. They are mature and they are in tune with each other. There isn't a lot of drama between them.
Mariam and Han Seuk (blue couple) are like the textbook case of struggle love, if I've ever seen it. Mariam is holding Han Seuk up and he basically said he wouldn't pick her over the money?! Excuse me, what? But they seem to have each others back through the games.
Hae Ri and Choi Hyun (red couple) are kinda funny to me. When they are alone, he was totally ignoring her. Then when he got in front of the other men, he was presenting himself as the perfect bf. I could see the side eye on Hae Ri's face, especially when she said, "I taught him that". π
Tae Suk and Ji Yoon (the pink couple) have a lot of unspoken resentment going on. Maybe not from her end so much as his. They are super clingy (almost unnaturally clingy) and I feel like sometimes he wants time to himself, but he's not expressing that to her. So he's leading her to believe he's perfectly ok with it all the time. Then he went behind her back and voiced his true feelings to others and went overboard. I totally see why she felt betrayed. And it didn't seem like she wouldn't listen and understand if he had told her. I just think she was in the dark.
Ae Ryeon and Min Ki (khaki couple) you can tell they are a new couple but they work so well together. I appreciate how they resolve their conflicts. Since they are still learning each other I kind of gave Min Ki a pass on dismissing Ae Ryeon's fear of the blindfold. I think they are young and still trying to figure some things out. But they are solid to have only been together this short period of time.
