For Shirasaki, he wants to feel worthy of Asami and he also wants to feel that they are on equal footing. I took the separation in the house as Shirasaki's way to stay focused because he probably felt he wouldn't give his all if he were around Asami more because he'd feel like giving up or that he wouldn't have a shot so why try. I didn't think it was punishment for Asami but more of Shirasaki's low self-esteem driving him to hyper focus mode.
My friend dated an actor before and they get weird about being in character and auditions. This person was emotionally draining because they were always changing into different characters and my friend couldn't keep up with who they were dealing with.
Asami internalizes his characters and appears, on the surface, to not let those characters and situations dictate his moods. Shirasaki is different. Every audition, every scene, every photo shoot, he treats as the last thing he will ever do, because he isn't confident he has what it takes to be seen as a great actor.

I think Shirasaki's emotions 100% drive their relationship dynamic. However, it's not entirely his fault. Asami isn't expressive at all. Shirasaki asked him why he gave up his dream role and if he was ok with that. And Asami's answer was to give what is expected of him and I think that worries Shirasaki, but it's hard to pull emotions out of someone who doesn't emote. Shirasaki takes Asami's words literally and never probes for more. I'm not sure if he's scared to probe out of fear of Asami withdrawing from him or if he's just oblivious to Asami's struggles and pain. they have an interesting dynamic. neither is really wrong. they are just in the early stages of their relationship still learning each other.

I agree Shirasaki is exhausting. I kind of feel like this is way Asami loves him. Asami expresses emotions only when he is acting, Shirasaki expresses ALL the emotions in real life and only subtle emotions while acting. I'm interested to see Asami's backstory more.
Odajimaa. I just LOVE how Kataoka calls his name with that deep but affectionate tone. I liked the manga but I love the drama. They really made the most of such a short story. The acting was superb and I'm already re-watched a few times to catch some of the nuance in the acting from all characters.
The soundtracks for these independent series are so much better than those of many other dramas. I wish they credited everyone so we could hear more from them or at least stream their music and support.

The way the actors have to jump between their character in the drama and their character playing a character in the drama they are filming is phenomenally done. It's the subtle switch they both make between their characters and their "real life" selves.

It feels like they were supposed to get 33 episodes and at the last minute they lost funding and were told to just stop, so they crammed everything they could into the ending.
I'm really liking this drama. But the dad infuriates me! If I was being poisioned by my Secretary, there is no way I'm just drinking random glasses of anything. Also, if there was any suspicious behavior exhibited by my partner or they were doing anything shady, why are you still blindly trusting this person. Also, if I'm sitting in the hospital and someone hands me a glass of milk and pushes it into my hands, I'm definitely not drinking it. And finally, the doctors didn't do a toxicology report when he was admitted to the hospital the first time?!
So, I'm trying to watch this, but all of the screaming and screeching is really getting to me. I love how absurd it is and I love the concept, but the constant bickering gets tiring. I'll probably pick this back up when my nerves can handle it.
