I'm not so much hung up on *why* they had decided that this would be a good pairing, and am more pressed on them not wasting anymore resources or future series with this ship; trying to "make" it work when even the actors aren't feeling it... It's dumb that they didn't realize it earlier but I mean I can't blame them too much, we all know that GMMTV follows the money so I guess they were just too blinded by the potential prospects of their success to actually bother paying attention to the chemistry reads aha. I completely agree with everything you've said, even the points about HA; except for the fact that I'm not a Chimon fan. I'm not not a Chimon fan, I've got nothing against him, it's just that I've only seen him in NLMG and DR and wasn't feeling their so called chemistry in either. Perhaps romance and especially BL are not his forte..... but besides that he seems like a good actor!

Idk I don't really see how that's a different opinion. Perth and Chimon are well known and accomplished actors in this industry. They've got fans, the experience and the acting chops so on paper without having seen them together, that sounds like a good and sound decision, a safe bet that they could make a powerful pairing. They've been friend for years, are comfortable around each other and seemingly up for the job (but after seeing Chimon's performance, it's debatable..), they're very similar personality wise and even visually seem like they'd be a good match. But unfortunately, it is not. Chemistry is just one of those finicky things that's either there or it isn't and if it's not present, you can't really improve it lol.
What I meant with GawinKrist, was that while both talented it seemed like an odd and random match personality, vibes and visually wise, of course it's acting so that shouldn't matter too too much but if I remember correctly they weren't even friends beforehand and we hadn't really seen them interact. Let's just say they weren't a popular ghost ship lol.
Yes!! I'm so glad that he's getting more opportunities now! I thought he did a good enough job in Not Me but I wasn't feeling the hype around him. I have since seen him in a few more things and it's clear that he has talent and a range so it was most likely just the character that I didn't personally like. I'm so excited to follow along his new projects!

Ah well I guess I was trying to give you that clarification, since the original message seemed to be misunderstood. Was just trying to lend another perspective since I didn't interpret it that way. It can be really easy sometimes to misinterpret people's words when you don't hear them from their mouth.
Plus I didn't really want it to seem like anyone was gatekeeping GLs; we as a community here should want to encourage more people to give them a chance and be welcoming, rather than be picky, tight knit and closed off.
