I'm honestly curious about this series. If OffGun weren't the MLs how would you have rated the series?
Well, they got me interested in this series but I'm not continuing to watch this solely because they play in it, but because all the casts are good in their roles and I quite enjoy the plot. If you're asking how I would've rated it if OffGun weren't the leads, then I have no answer to that, since I don't know how others would portray the characters, whether they'll be good at it or not. So far, the only Prem I know is Gun's portrayal of him, and so is Ten. I can't imagine other actors portraying them until it happens, well, if it ever did.
It's really getting better with each episode. Usually I can't really stomach romcom, especially Thai ones, but this is bearable for me. Love TenPrem's and both trios' dynamic in this ep, although I can't say the same for FireDy's. I love Dy as part of the trio, but with Fire he's too delusional, selfish, and has no respect, it's annoying to watch. I actually feel so bad for Fire, he's trapped with a toxic mother and being chased by a madman. Maybe their dynamic will change and I'll be able to enjoy them as a couple more, who knows.
When the first trailer came out a year ago, I thought the story wouldn't be very good, but I was still excited…
That EarthMix series had it worse though, isn't that the one exclusively available in Disney+ when it aired? At least for this one we can choose whether to watch it for free or pay for extra scenes. And actually many other series did it too, that's just how business is. They see loyal fandom and think how they can milk them the best.
Since you speak Thai you may be able to help mewhats the significance of Mork or Mhok? Ive seen others use these…
If that's the reason, I don't understand why they didn't just use another name to begin with. It's an original story, not an adaptation, so they should've been able to change names as they see fit, no? Or maybe the name has some kind of meaning relevant to the story?
It's pretty good so far, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. And the comments below are right, the uncut ver is way better than the yt ones. Although the scenes aren't really important, but they do make the pace flow better, and I like the dynamic between Prem and his family there. Hopefully they'll keep the quality or even improve it until the end, since GMMTV often messes up with their series in the middle despite the good start.
I believe, at this point, we all watch anything that OffGun give us. So starting this wasn't a question. But,…
Don't worry, their next project is office-themed, although Gun will be playing as an intern. I guess with how boyish his appearance is, it'll be hard to get a role matching his age. After all, in acting it doesn't matter how old the actor is, but rather whether the actor suits the characters or not. Only their fans knew their real age anyway, and most casual viewers won't bother to look it up. It doesn't only apply to OffGun but other actors too.
I dont exactly agree with the Jimmy part. I think the emotions are in his eyes because thats the kind of person…
I said only in heavily emotional scenes, like when he reminisced about his sister while deciding to sell her car, and when he finally found Day after losing him in the market. In every other scenes, he's okay. I don't think he's the kind who try hard to hide his emotions, since he's so open about his struggle to others, especially Porjai. He showed all kinds of emotions in front of others, and never hesitated to let his feelings be known. Also seeing how he interacted with his acquaintances, like the bookstore owner and the man who kept his sister's car, he didn't seem cold at all. The thing is, in the two scenes I mentioned, not only his eyes, his gestures also showed Mhok's emotion well, but somehow it's just absent from his face. Regarding that time when he paid respect to his sister with Porjai, what I see is that he actually wanted resent his sister for leaving him alone since it hurt him so bad, but he couldn't hate nor get mad at her since he loved her so much, that was why he was always a bit sarcastic when talking about his sister. It's just my take on Mhok's character so far, I think he's a sincere and straightforward person, yet rough around the edge.
Everything has been great so far, I really love every characters here (except Porjai's shitty bf of course). But as I dreaded in ep 1, Jimmy is still lacking in heavily emotional scenes. Like, I can feel the emotion in his eyes, but somehow it didn't reach his face. Maybe it's just me, idk. It's the first time I feel like this, usually it's the opposite. I can only hope he'll improve before the climax starts, since I think there'll definitely be a lot of heavily emotional scenes. Still an amazing series though. Like Moonlight Chicken, it's a healing and thought-provoking kind of series, which is really rare in Thai BL scene that usually focused in either romance or drama. Just my favorite type. I hope Aof will continue making this kind of series 🥰
Jimmy said he smoked for realWhy didn't they just use fake cigarettes... He's a doctor lolhttps://youtu.be/ecAmJWDNw5I?si=uKyR_EfUIIm0gzhV
Maybe it's actor's pride. Kinda like how some actors want to do stunts by themselves instead of letting the professionals be their substitute, they want to be their characters as a whole as much as they can. Who knows though.
As expected from Aof! This is why a good director is so important. I wonder what's Day's problem with Night, he seemed sincerely worried about him. He even brought a fish to be his company since he refused to go out of his room. Well, we'll have to see. I love it so far, the actors did okay and Namtan is so freaking pretty 😍 I hope they'll keep up the quality until the end, and I want to believe they will. It's Aof after all, he made two of my top 5 fav Thai BL so I gotta trust him.
Finally, the trailer and finally, Off's character falls first lol. Unfortunately the trailer felt a bit underwhelming, the pilot trailer is better imo. Maybe it's because the trailer showed too much that it left little to be desired, idk. Still excited for OffGun though, I hope the directors and the scriptwriter don't mess up.
I find it quite perplexing that one of the most talented actors in GMMTV is consistently being cast in such underwhelming…
Gun already had his share of dark roles with The Gifted, Homeschool, Not Me, a movie which title I forgot, and some others I haven't watched yet. There's no need for him to explore that kind of role any further, he has proven he's capable of dark roles enough. Maybe he wants to challenge himself by taking comedic role, or he's just tired of always getting emotionally heavy roles, who knows. Comedic roles can be hard too, it can easily feel awkward if it misses the mark even a little bit. Tbh imo Thai actors who are real good at comedic roles are really rare, even more than the ones capable of dark roles. And for me Gun is still a bit lacking in that area, looking at his past projects. I hope he has improved this time.
i hope in time people will get on board with ohmleng, bc they actually seem really comfortable with each other…
It's not that I want Ohm to couple up with Nanon again, but tbh not talking in public doesn't always mean they actually have a bad relationship. I learned that from PerthSaint 😂😂 Just offering another possibility though, doesn't mean I'm right.
Same. When that eye-donation scene came, I was like god, please dont make Mhok donate his eyes (or Night, ftm).…
It's only for special cases though, the donor has to have some kind of disease that make them unable to keep their sight yet still have a fairly healthy cornea, that's why it's so rare. I don't think it'll be legally allowed when the donor has completely healthy eyes. And usually they can only get one cornea that way, while Day needs two. Idk if it's okay to only get one in that situation though, since I'm no medical practitioner. But actually I'd rather Aof kill someone if he really want to give eyes for Day, it'll be more realistic than someone around him suddenly contracts some kind of disease that make them fit to be a living donor, since like you said, it's so rare.
