Not really. And I feel he doesn't get it either, cause he doesn't seem to want revenge but just to have her around him to vex her a bit before trying to get back together... but maybe it's just me.
I don't get why he's so angry. Well, he actually isn't otherwise he would not behave like that when drunk and he would not worry for every little thing or be jealous... It's like they're both acting as if they were angry when they're clearly not and can't wait to be back together. It's a bit confusing. They should just be forgiving with their younger selves and get back together already.
In my opinion: first third is great, second third is very good, last third is pretty weak. Too much screen time dedicated to villains and the silly emperor. No angst, no further development of characters, and weird editing. I miss the poetry that the narration had in the first third. Ending on the battle field was not as dramatic as in other dramas, they could have ended with the return in the Lane or show us what would happen far in the future. And the alternative life... what was even that, leaving the last scene to Qi Min?? And I'm so sad they didn't show us the happy life of Royal Princess and the Headmaster in the main timeline. Neverthless one of my fav c-dramas and one that I will for sure rewatch many times in the future!
It was a flashback to earlier that episode when she was asking the princess for help.
So the hickey happened when they met at the waterfall? But they didn't kiss there, they kissed when they separated. I don't know what happened around the mid of the series, but they started to have strange cuts and flashbacks to show things they could have showed earlier, like the gift of the swords. Why couldn't they show when it happened but as a flashback the episode after? Seemed like and editing problem.
I am a bit confused, considering the teaser I was expecting the young Pig Butcher soldier to get hurt? Maybe that happens later? I hope they are not cutting and changing the story last minute. I read about cuts below and now I'm scared. PS She is so cool! I love this types of FL!
Why do I feel Mr. Jin/ Yuan Bao is starting to like Changyu too hahaha
I had that feeling too. That would be a novelty, cause normaly this side kick squad characters don't develop feelings for the FL. Interesting if that happens.
As long as i didnt skimmed over it, i dont think it's in the novel that he saves her using CPR
Redemption is possibile if someone is guilty, tries to redeem themselves by acting differently and selflessy without getting what they want in return. Loving an abuser is def not OK for the victim, so I see a healthy arch of redemption possible only with a different woman, after there is a radical change. I don't see the drama going there, so I hope at least he sacrifices himself for her and son. That would be already something.
Never liked the Chinese traditional dramas, always felt so over the top with out of place fantasy without any…
Cause there are 2 different genres, one is fantasy one is historical inspired with martial arts elements. There are a lot of c-dramas like this without fantasy elements. But this is extremely good in general. I especially enjoyed Wonderland of Love, for instance. Legend of female general is another good recent example.
