Title The Rise of Ning Spoiler
I came her to ask this too lol
Yeah that's not my cup of tea so I wanted to be sure before continuing watching! Luckily people are so nice here and someone always answer!

Agree after episode 4 2nd female lead acts like a kid and the 2nd male lead is arrogant. I’m ok with toxic /enemies…
My exact feeling!

I find the second lead couple very annoying! They could have built up the romance and the characters' growth way better.

Maybe she read his suicide note before and he had explained everything to her?
That also makes sense! That after NZ told her about his identity she went and read it. She had it in her hands afterwards.

This is my interpretation. I cannot accept FL blindly believed bad sexy king when he told her ML was Lord of the North. I think first stab was to protect him since they were both compromised. She may have been shocked to find out bad sexy king was speaking the truth, so maybe second stab was a real stab. Even if she ended up saving him by pushing him into the water, that looked on purpose. I'm surprised bad sexy king bought it, but in the end she confessed she is still in love with ML, so maybe he decided to accept her in any case?

First part was okeyish... but at the first forced kiss I had to drop...
I'm satisfied with the happy ending. And it will stay as one of my favourite dramas. The last episode felt rushed, and I don't get why, since this season was full of fillers. Also the "nobody is really dead" part was meh. I'd loved if Jin mama had sacrified herself cause it would have been a redemption arc for her awful behaviour. But worst thing is that they robbed us of the reunion between the leads after Bu Yeon stepped down. What was the ending scene with the "tiger" about. I mean, I know what it was about and I also feel the weird makeup Naksu had on wanted to symbolise her own personality coming back but still... weird much?
Again, one of my favourite dramas, no story is perfect and often those with imperfection turn out to be magical.
PS Kudos to Master Lee the mastermind. Even if... he did a good job of hiding his intentions for 29 episodes and then in the last episode basically spoilered to us the finale? When I watch these dramas often I ask myself why don't they have some writers help the main writers to spot the weaknesses, like the role of an editor for book writers. An external eye could help a lot.

Because Uk hid and loved Naksu who possessed JBY's body. She hates them both for using her daughter's body.
Yes, this is also something I've been wondering a lot about. In S1 they made it as is powers were linked to the soul. Mudeok had both powers cause she had both souls, now, somehow powers are linked to the body??? Make it makes sense, Hong Sisters!!!

She told him in episode 7 I think. He has the ice stone that Jang Gang didn’t return so she’s bitter
But he got it trying to save everyone after she screw up using it! I don't know, I don't get the hate against him. Against Naksu it makes more sense.
Why does Mama Jin hate Jang Uk so much?? Or is Naksu the person she was referring to? I get she may hate Naksu cause she believes she lost her daughter because of her. But what did poor Jang Uk do to her?

By the way. I hope they manage the situation with the egg stones better. I get Jang Uk left it with her at the beginning cause he tought she was channeling Naksu's memories but it's still a symbol of his past love. I don't think it's very nice to give it to someone else, from an external perspective.
I love that the moment she gets her memories back she starts acting in a reckless way! Like the old Naksu! I mean, getting into that prison without a plan? So Naksu.
Only 2 episodes left and I can only think of 2 ways we can get a happy ending. Either that little brat, the real LBY, steps down cause she acknowledges the love between Naksu and Uk or they find a way to use the power of the ice stone to keep both souls alive in that body.
I call real LBY a little brat cause I don't like the way she's being acting all along. At the beginning of part 1 I was sorry for her, but in reality she's the one who trapped Naksu's soul in her body, cause she wanted to use her to get stronger. And now it seems she still has her own agenda and she doesn't care at all about anyone else as long as she gets a stronger body, compared to the one she had before. She seems pretty similar to her mother, not as kind as her sister.
At this point I believe Uk and Crown Prince are working together, I can't wait for them to bring down Jin Mu together!
Please Hong Sisters give us a happy and reasonable ending!

FR they always give vague/open endings. A lot of people will be disappointed if that’s the route they're taking…
Yeah, especially in their last dramas they went for open endings...
Many people commenting seem not too familiar with the Hong sisters' writing. They create such good dramas, especially when it comes to give life to characters. Their characters are legendary. On the other hand, they often mess up the ending, changing the rules of the game (my girlfriend is a gumiho) or using the same tropes again and again. Like the long separation of the lovers (you're beautiful, masters' sun). It seems Alchemy of Souls is not different regarding those aspects. I'm OK with all that, because all writers have some recurring elements in their works, which reflect some heavy stuff in their own life. In their previous dramas they have a little bit of everything: happy, sad and open endings. So let's wait and see. So far I'm happy with part 2 and, except from the actor playing Jin Mu, I think the choice of actors has been one of the biggest plus points, together with the world building. I won't forget these characters, like I didn't forget all the others from their previous dramas.
