Let's be true, it's a huge and beautiful production, really well made. The actors are so good as well.
Buuttt, it was hard to get by the plots and charactes behavior. Some plots are just a huge mess and I can't count down how many times I got irritated with the main leads choices.
I would say it's worth watch it once at slow pace, watch others things in between, so you don't get too tired of this drama.

Hi. They do have a break-up, but it doesn't last long, one episode maybe, I don't know the one.
But if you like to be prepared, what it's going to happen for sometime during the drama is that one of them is going to lose the memories, but the other is going to stay close anyway.

There is a lot of romance, the main characters stay together from the beginning and go on adventures together. There are bad situations for them, but it's part of the romance.

Like, I would not rewatch it. I only finish it because Xiao Zhan, also the main plot and production are good, the side plots and characters are boring.

In terms of romance, it is definitely present, but is secondary and platonic. They take a long time just to understand their feelings and almost don't have kisses, so depends on if you like this kind of romance.

In terms of xuxia/xianxia with romance I would recommend others, like Love You Seven Times, The Starry Love, Who Rules the World, Back From the Brink and Love Between Fairy and Devil.
And there is the old but gold, Ashes of Love and Love Better Than Immortality.

I would say it's worth watching to pass the time, it's cool, but do not expect a really good drama.
And don't worry, It has a happy ending.

My impression of this drama: Cool and interesting at first, a boring mess in the middle, good from episode 30 forward and then rushed ending on episodes 40-43.

I love Xiao Zhan, the production is beautiful and the story is kind of interesting, but the drama just didn't work for me. It took me a long time to finish.

This drama is definitely sad, I'm on episode 14 and it's only getting worst for the FL. It's probably gonna end on a sad note as well.

I like very much how the plot is developing, it's interesting and you are never sure of what is coming next.
But I find the feeling of the drama a little off, I think that's because the FL become more serious, so everything have a sad/down feeling to it.

Why the father is not being taking care by son or the grandmother?

A warning: I found a version that says is complete from 1-32 but it's not, there are a lot of missing scenes.
So be careful, watch the episodes that have around 45 minutos each.

Be careful where you are watching, there are some cuts on YouTube and other plataforms that deleted scenes.
You have to watch the complete 42/45 minutos per episode on IQIYI or dramacool.

Don't expect that this drama is a masterpiece and you are gonna watch a good drama. The acting is great, the actors did a really good job. But there are are holes in the plot and the production is not good.
The FL hairstyle is so bad most of the time, that was hard to pass by.

I'm really happy with the end, a wonderful way to close the story.
I understand the fame of this drama, the production and main plot are very good. It's good that you can feel so many things, love, hate, sadness, happiness. But what is remarkable is the end for the second ML and the drama itself.
However, I have to say that I got bored and fast forward a lot, especially in the middle, somethings take so much time to happen.
I'm not a big fan of the FL and ML as well, the actors and the characters.
The FL knows nothing of absolutely nothing and I really got annoyed with the ML, a idiot that keep asking "why", come on, you just forgot what you did a minute ago??

So far it's still boring in the middle, so I agree with you that is the weakest arc.
