Like, Jin Fan get defeat by Shangguan Qian because: he was fitting two strong people at first, all the way having to be careful with the flower so it doesn't be destroyed. He couldn't just go for the kill.
Shang Guangjue had a hard time because that Wang was really powerful in comparison with the others, they say that in the drama. Apart from that he was prepared to the other Wang, but they changed it last minute. That is why Young Master Xue had a hard time as well. The Wangs that went for them had powers that played with their weaknesses.
The Gong family do have other members, they specifically say that woman and children were at the cave (but it never shows), they are like low raking because they don't know the family secrets. The drama itself focus on the family heirs, the ones that had the family secrets. During the Wufeng invasion there were others fights going on. Remember the entrance? A lot of people fighting, shows wufeng and gong killing eachother, and then focus on the main fight of the Gong Zi Yu and Zi iY.
Idk why people see so much flaws when they to explain it during some dialogues.

The enemies do have a lot of reasons to take over the Gong family, you have to keep watching. Apart from the main objetive that you are gonna to figure out. Idk you you get the part that the Gong family did care about the outside world, but couldn't to stop the other sects demise alone, they also tried to take in a hole sect but got almost killed because of that. So they decide to be the resistance, close the family and rebuild, since they had a lot family members killed some years ago.
It's a good drama, the production, the actors, the main plot (who doesn't like a good revenge). Is also good that it is fast paced, so the secondary plots keep changing and you won't get bored. I really loved the ML, Nan uncle and the general. But this drama should be called "How to destroy the other women in the family", so I can get the man and some revenge. Really, although the main plot is good, what you are gonna watch the most is the scheming of the women, mixed with a little run for the throne, romance and payback.
About the romance, I wanted more. Like, I'm on episode 27 and the FL is still rejecting the ML, are they ever gonna be together? I pity the ML.
