I have to o say this
The show is very good, I like the actors, the production, the OST, and the story/plots. Although for someone that go back she did some stupid choices.
Buutttttt, their relationship is kind of abusive, specially towards the end. I like the kisses? Yes, they are hot, but also so forceful. I know he is frustrated and angry with her, even so, in the back of my mind the jealousy and possessiveness scream a red flag.
That being said, I still gave it a 10 because all the rest it's so interesting.

How is he a good character?
If he had step up from the beginning he would avoid half of the problems, especially related to the obsession of Zixun, he just aloud her to do all those things.
And he knew Martian was trying to hurt the FL and did nothing!
He was also treating the FL really bad in so many moments, blaming her or avoiding her. Just take the part of that instrument for the demon clan, he left her take the blame, he could just say that he allowed her to take it.

How is that a 10?
I can't take more plots of Mantis and Zixun trying to hurt the FL because their ridiculous obsession, more than half of the drama is about it.
It's really hard to watch.

I'm so annoyed, all the drama revolves about her and the Zixun being ridiculously obsessed.

I'm really trying, but I'm on episode 30 and can't take it anymore Xia Zi Xun and Mantian trying to kill the FL.
Really, all the drama it's about they being ridiculous obsessed with hurting the FL because of the ML. Add to that the uncle of the sect, another one obsessed about it.
It's so bad, there must be a thousand dialogues just to hurt and kill.
And the ML is just an moron never steeping up when needed. If he had a voice and stood up most of the problems wouldn't have happened.
Ah, and the romance? Non existent during most of the drama.

I'm on episode 15 and everything happens so fast, I'm not sure if it is a good or bad yet.
The damsel in distress is kind of annoying, if the FL is so smart she should think things better.
And I agree with the comments below, it's cringe in the scenes a very mature woman portrait as a teenager.

His character should be more stoic than sick to survive the palace.
I'm not saying he is not a good actor, but the "sick" expression should be related only for the traumatic events, he wears it all the time.

At first, I thought I wouldn't like it because I prefer wuxia costume or historical dramas, but I decided to give it a go after watch some fighting scenes. And I do not regret it, the plot keeps you hooked, the powers and the tao philosophy are great, good visual effects, great OST and I loved the actors and their characters, Neo Hou especially, love him!!!
I keep thinking they should have invested a bit more on the costumes, those are so bad rsrs

I really don't get why people say it has so much plot flaws, I think they just don't pay attention to the dialogues. A lot doesn't have scenes, but it's explained.
Like where were the others members and the woman and children of the sect.
People just ignore that the drama focus on the heirs of the family secrets.
