Oh that makes sense. Situ Ling is from the Zushui clan right? That would naturally make him and Ming Yi as enemies on 2 sides. I'm not sure considering how obsessed he is for her... I guess "love" could turn into hate? Though, he hates and kills his family members without hesitation so who knows?

I skimmed select chapters of the novel last night. In the novel, it seems that Ming Yi's father is the Empress' trusted guard and Ming Yi's mother is the Empress' distant relative (Ji clan). But in the drama, it seems that Ming Yi's background changed - hinting that she's from the Bo clan instead and perhaps Bo Yulan's daughter. How does she end up in Yaogguang Mountain? Could this change be attributed to eliminating the possibility of distant incest between Ming Yi and Ji Bozai? And for better closure where Ming Yi will be able to save both her and Ji Bozai if she's able to make the antidote from the recipe?

It took Ji Bozai 25 episodes out of 36 to figure out that Ming Yi is Ming Xian. I don't know whether to cry or laugh...

I can see why Mu Qibai didn't live until the end of the drama. There's people greedier than him, who will harm the 6 realms.

Oh my gosh that's crazy 🤯 It explains why the Empress is so cold to her. Once Ming Yi got poisoned and she wasn't strong enough to win the tournament, the Empress told her to leave. I'm so sad for both of our main leads!

Cheng Lei went from falling in love with a girl in a mask (Legend of the Female General) to wearing a mask himself here 🤭 Not that I'm complaining!

I love this drama (especially Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei together), but the emperor was dumb. He was easily manipulated like a puppet by Xu Jingfu and later, Chu Zhao. Rather than keeping He Yan and Xiao Jue separated, for fear of military power concentration, if their loyalty was not enough to satisfy him, the emperor could have tried to arrange a marriage between their future children or adopt someone into their royal line.

I hope Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei get casted in another drama together in the future!

Legend of the Female General is turning out to be the Drama of the Year for me! I haven't been this eager since The First Frost and My Lovely Runner (Korean)

I was so excited for this drama since Lee Sungkyung and Lee Dongwook are the leads, but the writing for the first two episodes feels too slow... Uh the screenwriter hasn't written in a decade? Is that why?

Kim Hyeyoon with Yeom Jungah and Lee Jaewook is so fun to watch! Episodes 9, 10, and 11 next week

Once you get past the nails, massage, and dying from debt in her nightmare, this drama has been enjoyable to watch! I love how Dowon teases Yiyoung 😂 It's a subtle romance that's well done. I hope there isn't a love triangle... but there might be? Jay?

Lee Kwangsoo and Lee Dahee are so funny to watch together <3

I waited for more episodes to come out before binge watching. It's definitely a good watch! 10 star rating from me so far. Maybe more people will do the same :)
