Still can't get into it. VFX, acting, pacing....was just off for me. Dropped. I like FL though, she's cute.
You did yourself a favor. So many plot holes & bad writing.

I enjoyed the series for what it was: simple. So trust me when I say this, but you didn’t miss much. There are a lot of things that are lacking bcuz the series is mainly surface level. Also, even the big lovers of this series will admit that the last 3 or so ep have issues. If they had issues then you would have it worse.

I think you meant to say 1 drama every 2-3 weeks, bcuz 2-3 dramas a week is literally impossible. LOL!

Depth & nuance is the answer.
I’m not invalidating anything as I said “depth & nuance.” 2 things, not one. Besides I could ask you the same. Ep 17 & 33 also literally spells things out for us. However, I also said deep. Some things can be nuanced while others can be deep like what I just described. This is just one scene I’m describing, not the whole series. There can be nuance in other scenes.

For example when she dresses up as a dancer, that can be a nuanced scene. In that scene she wore female clothing for the first time, but she also wore a mask. This can be a nuanced way of telling us the audience that even though she is finally taking a step to rediscovering her femininity she is still wearing a mask both literally & metaphorically.

Depth & nuance is the answer.
Sure she hesitated about shedding men's attire, but the same detail should've been given to her wearing female clothing. But here you are saying she did it without thought as though wearing female clothing wouldn't affect someone like her who is struggling with identity. The writers should have made her give more than a thought & more than just a quick camouflage. As you said the story is about identity crisis so as writers they should explore it when the chance arrives, but no this series continually touches upon it quickly or in this case completely ignore it & move towards the next thing.
As for her insecurity, it was quickly brushed off with no time given too. Besides it's her own experience & thoughts on what she looks like with makeup that should matter & be used to show her insecurity. We should've seen her be surprised at herself with makeup for the first time, question it, have TaoTao acknowledge that she looks great with makeup & THEN have her seek recognition from Xiao Jue. The end product though is all surface level. Just glossed over quickly.

Depth & nuance is the answer.
Again, not deep or nuanced. As you said we see this clear as day. That means it's not deep or nuanced. Deep or nuanced means more than what we see & should make us the audience think & recontextualize these things.

Here's an example of no nuance or depth. In ep 7 He Yan dresses up as a female dancer. Does this do anything to her like make her feel feminine for the first time? After all, she only wore female clothing once before this when she was blind. This is her first time wearing female clothing (& she wore it perfectly even though she shouldn't bcuz she never wore women's clothing before), but she doesn't even think about it. It should be a big moment of change for her character. Same thing with her getting her first makeup done in ep 14. It's just whatever instead of actually exploring what these things mean to one's identity & gender.

Depth & nuance is the answer.
Again surface level, bcuz literally all you just said WAS spelt out for us in this episode. Many of these things were already spelt out to us in the first episode, but do we explore it & watch as she overcomes these things to become a new person. No, we don't.

Depth & nuance is the answer.
No, I perfectly understood this drama. There is barely an identity crisis & the FL's vulnerabilities is at best surface level. Just bcuz ep 17 has some heart to heart moments does not make it deep or nuanced. Deep usually means exploring important topics that are beyond just the characters but also philosophical questions & teachings.

It basically stays the same. And yeah her character's personality just doesn't work. Totally miswritten. The only saving grace is that the Leads have good chemistry & her character can actually fight.

i have a couple of questions, dont mind spoilers, why are there so many people disappointed with this drama ,…
I didn't read the novel too, but even I was disappointed. Simply put, it was too basic & cliche. It didn't really tap into it's potential & did the bare minimum. The FL acted way too cute & comfortable for a person who went through what she did. Which would've been fine if it didn't try to take itself a bit too seriously, but it did. Also, some logic are thrown out of the window often. So that doesn't help.
It mainly comes down to your tolerance level. The people who liked it liked it for the simplicity, cliche & visuals (both production & actors). There is chemistry between the leads too. Also FL at least looked cool fighting. Those who were disappointed or didn't like it just want something more meaningful. Hope that helps.

Title Serendipity Spoiler
Was it really bad?
It's quite lackluster. To put it simply, the Leads essentially go nowhere the first 20 ep, bcuz the ML lied to the FL that they're siblings so we don't really get any moments as it would be super awkward if she fell for her "brother."
The best part about this series are the side couples as the princess & prince story works really well. If you do watch it then watch it only for them. Snow Kong is the princes & Yang Shi Ze is the prince. It's an arranged political marriage that starts business-like, but progresses into love smoothly.
PS Even the villain couple works better & faster than the Leads.

Not really spoilers, but in the intro we see 4 angels on the ground surrounded by the others. So 4 are definitely dead. Also, casting shows 4 actors as guest roles.

The Blossoming Love was good, I absolutely loved eps 1-30, but the last part, around eps 31-40 was quite disappointing…

This drama just reminded me that regression & reincarnation series are illegal in China LOL! Thankfully I had already lost much of my interest & was just barely tuning in so I don't feel too cheated. Then again, it's funnily annoying bcuz you now have to accept that these 2 dreamed even the brother & Shiyun's story line. LOL! What!?

I should just go watch Blossoming Love & see if that's any good. Sigh~

Ever since the bandit storyline ended this series has gone downhill, which is a real pity. I don't know what it is, but the main characters just feel very annoying now. Yes, they are well intended, but they act so annoying. Maybe it's their entitlement or lack of forethought IDK. They steal grain from the rich to feed the poor, even though it rightfully belongs to the rich. I feel like they could've just continued convincing them instead of outright stealing.
Also, I'm glad Fei Wendian died. He was nothing but a burden to the ladies of his family. Maybe now they can move on.

Yeah this series is kind of uninteresting after high school. There isn't much of a goal anymore so it's a slow slice of life. Which could work if the slice of life parts are interesting, but it really isn't. Not to mention the side characters are very uninteresting too.
