i'm on episode 6 and having such a hard time continuing this drama. maybe my expectations were too high? but i…
It basically stays the same. And yeah her character's personality just doesn't work. Totally miswritten. The only saving grace is that the Leads have good chemistry & her character can actually fight.
i have a couple of questions, dont mind spoilers, why are there so many people disappointed with this drama ,…
I didn't read the novel too, but even I was disappointed. Simply put, it was too basic & cliche. It didn't really tap into it's potential & did the bare minimum. The FL acted way too cute & comfortable for a person who went through what she did. Which would've been fine if it didn't try to take itself a bit too seriously, but it did. Also, some logic are thrown out of the window often. So that doesn't help. It mainly comes down to your tolerance level. The people who liked it liked it for the simplicity, cliche & visuals (both production & actors). There is chemistry between the leads too. Also FL at least looked cool fighting. Those who were disappointed or didn't like it just want something more meaningful. Hope that helps.
It's quite lackluster. To put it simply, the Leads essentially go nowhere the first 20 ep, bcuz the ML lied to the FL that they're siblings so we don't really get any moments as it would be super awkward if she fell for her "brother." The best part about this series are the side couples as the princess & prince story works really well. If you do watch it then watch it only for them. Snow Kong is the princes & Yang Shi Ze is the prince. It's an arranged political marriage that starts business-like, but progresses into love smoothly. PS Even the villain couple works better & faster than the Leads.
I can only count 9 animals/angels, so I believe the other 3 are death or something? the others are casted, so…
Not really spoilers, but in the intro we see 4 angels on the ground surrounded by the others. So 4 are definitely dead. Also, casting shows 4 actors as guest roles.
This drama just reminded me that regression & reincarnation series are illegal in China LOL! Thankfully I had already lost much of my interest & was just barely tuning in so I don't feel too cheated. Then again, it's funnily annoying bcuz you now have to accept that these 2 dreamed even the brother & Shiyun's story line. LOL! What!?
I should just go watch Blossoming Love & see if that's any good. Sigh~
Ever since the bandit storyline ended this series has gone downhill, which is a real pity. I don't know what it is, but the main characters just feel very annoying now. Yes, they are well intended, but they act so annoying. Maybe it's their entitlement or lack of forethought IDK. They steal grain from the rich to feed the poor, even though it rightfully belongs to the rich. I feel like they could've just continued convincing them instead of outright stealing. Also, I'm glad Fei Wendian died. He was nothing but a burden to the ladies of his family. Maybe now they can move on.
Yeah this series is kind of uninteresting after high school. There isn't much of a goal anymore so it's a slow slice of life. Which could work if the slice of life parts are interesting, but it really isn't. Not to mention the side characters are very uninteresting too.
I quite like this new, tragic take on Mei Chaofeng & Huang Yaoshi as characters. The story retconns a few things & expands upon a story we know very little about to make a more sympathetic story for the 2 aforementioned characters. I actually found the parallel of Chaofeng not really being a villain, but mistaken as one due to her actions. It’s similar Huang Yaoshi who also gets called out for being a villain when he necessarily isn’t.
To top it off I also like the idea of Chaofeng being a normal girl who can fall in love. However, her inability to let go of revenge cost her everything. This then makes more sense when we see her in Legend of Condor Heroes. She’s someone filled w/ regret & as such is constantly trying to seek redemption.
It appears that way, but it's actually a story about a prodical daughter. There were no antagonists and protagonists.…
I'm sorry, but we are not saying anything remotely the same as that is not what I said at all. I clearly said Yeomhwa is the antagonist so how can any of this be "my analysis" or form of approach? Yeomhwa's story is a substory. We do not get a lot of her background or even know how her baby passed away. These are things that would be pretty important in knowing about a protagonist or main character. But that isn't mentioned (at least I don't think it was).
It's not what I prefer to use BTW, it's basic literature terms & you're totally misinterpreting & not understanding something so basic. Someone who stands in opposition of the protagonist is the antagonist. BTW antagonists can have a story, you seem to be implying that antagonists can't with this misinterpretation of yours. Similarly, you seem to think that the ML being unable to help disqualifies them as a MC. It doesn’t as MCs are still MCs as they were there from the beginning & there till the end. Yeomhwa isn’t this.

You’re showing me you clearly don’t know what protagonist & antagonist are. So allow me to explain. Protagonist doesn’t mean “good guy” or heroine. It means main character. The main character can be good, morally grey or evil. E.G. Dexter from the series Dexter, is a serial killer & the main character. Therefore, he’s the protagonist. Antagonist is the thing opposing the protagonist. That means they can also be someone good like the cop who was suspicious of him.
And no, you can’t say the SeongA is the antagonist, bcuz Yeomhwa isn’t the main character/ protagonist of this story, & let me repeat this story. This story is about SeongA & GyeonU. They are the MCs, therefore protagonists. Yeomhwa is a supporting character & stands in opposition of the 2. She’s the antagonist. If she was the MC from the start then yes you’re right SeongA would be her antagonist in Yeomhwa’s story. But that’s not the case.

Antagonist is the person / thing that stands in opposition of the protagonist. Yeomhwa is most definitely the antagonist bcuz she wants GyeonU to die & so she’s in opposition of the SeongA.
Throughout the series run there was something about this series that felt off to me. I couldn't really put my finger on it, but now that I've figured it out. It's mainly bcuz the sense of danger & tension is usually lost. The protagonists never feel like they are racing to stop the antagonists. Antagonists literally live under the same roof & it's like "oh be careful of so-&-so okay?" No rush, just take your time. This show is lucky they got the actors they did. Cho Yihyun is so good in this drama & really worked her magic. The rest also did great job too. But the story is a bit messy, even if it was fun at times.
Reina was intelligent from the beginning. Her manipulation of the people around her indicates that she is intelligent.…
Well, I hope you never have to meet such people anymore. But yeah, I’m just being as objective as possible here. It was still an enjoyable show, but when you take a step back it’s noticeable & I can’t unsee it.

I disagree. She may be clever, but clever doesn't mean intelligent like a mastermind. She was doing things that are next level impossible. This is someone who got manipulated into marrying Tomoya. But she somehow knew when Tomoya was on the highway to call him, can divert cops attention to essentially kidnap Wataru, has an easily removable outfit that she can layer on top of her own clothing, somehow was able access to a fairground and was able to get the ferris wheel to work. That's way too much.
Both dramas have their pros and cons, but let's be real the fiance story almost killed the K-version so yeah, since this version never goes there it was bound to do better. And I say this as someone who still likes the K-version. That being said though I think the final 2 ep has its own form of ridiculousness too. Reina all of sudden had an IQ of 200 & became a mastermind of revenge. Like WHAT!? LOL! Still a very enjoyable show. The main 4 actors did really good, especially the 2 actresses. Fuka & Sei really aced their stuff in this drama & heavily carried the show. I do think Takeru did his best, but this version is a bit weak in terms of writing. But the show definitely flowed easier and again was a good watch.

Also, she’s pretty evil. She knowingly fed Bongsu souls & constantly curses people.
