XZ has really matured in acting! The only other drama I've seen him in is The Untamed. I tried to watch Duoluo Continent on YouTube but the syncing was off and then when music was playing in the background, YT silenced the whole thing and subs disappeared so I gave up.

I really love his portrayal on Shi Ying! He's not stiff and I like that he dubbed his lines himself.

No, locations are different..you would be surprised by the numbers of falls there are in China 🤣
Both dramas were filmed at Hengdian World Studios so I think it is the same mountain area!

I believe so. Xiao Zhan, in an interview, said he was at that filming location for several works.
I thought so because even the river path leading up to it looks the same. Both The Untamed and this drama were filmed at Hengdian World Studios.

Bei Mian is the emperor and is usually wearing black. Azure/Qing King is always wearing green/blue.
Thank you! I had to go back to episode 1 and pause a lot for introductions with subtitles. They introduced them all when Shi Ying was doing his sword dance for Bei Mian's birthday!
The cast list has him labeled as Qing Dongfang but later they keep saying Azure King and I'm like where did I miss the intros?! 😂

I'm only on episode 6 and there are so many characters! Is Bei Mian Emperor the same as the Azure King or whatever or is he a different guy? I'm pretty sure he might be different because why would he sit on the side while the Crown Prince was handling the ritual?

I really wish there were character screens next to the actor names!

I hope you enjoy! It's a very beautiful story, but sad at the same time because of the political climate at the time. The song at the end is beautiful too and stays in my Playlist.

Dropping this. I found that it started strong and then just fell flat. I find myself just letting episodes play in the background and then I have to rewind just to be bored again. These are supposed to be college aged adults in some pretty serious majors and they are acting like middle schoolers. It had cute moments, but not enough to hold my interest.
